FAQ And 'Help-Me'

If you want to contact a mod without the loss of anonymity that comes via PM, post your question/request here. Don't be shy!

Want a post deleted? Because of anonymity, we rarely delete fills but will consider deleting prompts if they violate the rules.

Have a question, suggestion or complaint?  This is the place to let us know, unless you'd like to contact us privately. You can also de-anon here, if you care to.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do I post anonymously?
A: Below the body of your message are two buttons: 'post comment' and 'more options...' Select the 'more options' button and you will be redirected to another page with the ability to preview as well as an option to open a drop down menu from your login name. From there you will have many options, but on the bottom is 'Anonymous'. Select this and it will mark you as anonymous even though you are still logged in. Remember, if you forget, just go back and delete you comment and re-post under anonymous.

Q: My prompt/fill/comment isn't showing up! What's going on?
A: Don't panic! Your post is not gone, just hidden. Sometimes LiveJournal
hides anonymous comments when the commenter is not logged in. Try
logging in or waiting a few hours. Sometimes it even takes a day. Please do not repost your comments without checking with a mod.

Q: When do we have Fill-a-Thon? How long do they last?
A: We have Fill-a-Thon at the start of every month, from the 1st until the 7th: one week. At that time all prompts posted will be deleted and saved to be reposted on the 8th, but this is a stress on the archivers and mods so please remember to save  them for the 8th. We want to encourage
people to fill, instead of just prompt as well as give our archivers a
break!

Q: Can I fill a prompt that's already been filled?
A: Yes, the more the merrier, plus that makes for an even more pleased OP.

Q: Can I fill a prompt that's already been claimed?
A: Yes, that's also just fine. Claiming is more for the OP's benefit.

Q: Can I post multiple prompts?
A: Go for it - but try to fill as well as prompt.

Q: When does the meme make a new thread for prompts and fills?
A: When the thread hits 20 pages a new one will be made for that particular category.

Q: I'm posting a big fill. How do I avoid the shrinking format problem?
A: Normally this becomes a problem around post 13-15. To solve the skinny paragraphs, just reply consecutively to the original prompt rather than replying to your previous posts one after the other.

Q: It looks like there's a lot of this pairing. Can I post/request more?
A: Of course! If there's already plenty of a certain character/pairing it's because anons want it.

Q: I have this weird pairing/kink/character fetish. Is it too weird for the meme?
A: Only if it's sexually involving someone under 15. Otherwise, go to town.

Q: What I wrote is kind of out-of-character. Is that OK?
A: Yup. All fills are welcomed here, including OOC ones. If the OP
specified in-character though, they might be disappointed. Do your best
and talk with the OP if you're concerned.

Q. Somebody posted something on my fill that hurts my feelings. Is it dumb to ask for it to be taken down?
A. Not at all. PM the mod
and we'll get right to it.

Q: Can I give feedback to the writers/artists?
A: If it's positive, yes. To avoid hurt feelings (and to encourage writers
of all skill levels) we don't post the hard stuff.

Q: My fill (or one I found) is labeled wrong/is missing in the archives. What do I do?
A: Link it here and we'll fix it ASAP.

Q: My prompt never got filled :( When can I repost it?
A: About a month later is fine.

Q: This prompt is months old. Should/Can I fill it?
A: YES! Even if the OP isn't around, other anons will LOVE to read it. You
can also repost the prompt and your fill if you'd like.

Q: Somebody requested a sequel. Where do I post it?
A: Just make a new thread in the main meme and post from there. Don't worry about keeping it with the original prompt.

Q: How do I upload fanart?
A: You can use sites like Comprehensive List of Adult Friendly Image Hosts, Adult Image Host, or File Fap.

Accidental Double Post

http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?view=flat&page=81#comments

Please fix it? Please?

I'm completely new at posting on threads and my internet was incredibly fickle this morning. For some reason the post doesn't show up in the normal thread but it does in the Flat View. I don't know what that means but I still feel like an absolute dork for having two identical prompts up.

I'm sorry. :(

About a prompt

(Anonymous) 2012-05-13 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a prompt asking for someone to continue an unfinished fill and I know a lot of kink meme writers become upset at the thought of something like this happening without their permission. I don't know if you want to allow it, but here's the prompt: http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=1968856&#t1968856

Asking for a new fill is fine, but this is sort of rude.

this is missing a prompt:filled tag. thanks mods!

Request for a Series tag :)

(Anonymous) 2012-05-29 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
O awesome mod, may I please request a series tag for the 'Valen the Bard' prompt fills? Prompts which involve the bardic derpvahkiin include:

'A Study of Werewolf Mating Rituals (by Solmund Great-Wolf)', from this prompt here:

http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=1820888#t1820888

and

'A Song of Valen the Bard', from the separate prompt here:

http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=1953496#t1953496

Thank you kindly! :D

Hello, Mod. :D

Please delete http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2125016#t2125016 and http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2125272#t2125272 . I'm new to posting anonymously in LJ and accidentally cut off a part of my fill due to the character limit.

(Anonymous) 2012-06-11 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi mod!

http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2146776#t2146776 I'm pretty sure this is a passive-aggressive troll prompt that should fall under the "no discrimination of kinks" rule.

I accidently multi-posted

(Anonymous) 2012-06-14 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if it was the site or my crap connection, but I seem to have resubmitted the same post multiple times. D: I tried to fix it a little by just replying to the "original" post I was sending through, but then those posts were shrunk and the reader is still drawn to the reposts below. Could someone try to fix it? Delete the reposts, please? I feel weird about how it must look.

http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2039000

Thank you so much!

Hello mod! I noticed a comment on a prompt calling it "disturbing" and, well, I know I sure wouldn't want to hear that about my own prompt. The comment: http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2267096#t2267096

Thanks!

Summary added to fill

(Anonymous) 2012-06-28 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
Hey mods! I finally came up with a halfway passable summary for this fill:

http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2267608#t2267608

Ahem,

"Theoretically, the red-headed Dragonborn should be fire in the bed, right? But after some conflicting stories from some drunken twins one late night at the Bannered Mare, the question on everyone's lips is... whose bed?"

If that could be added to the Delicious preez. :3

(Anonymous) 2012-07-05 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi Mods,

This fill wasn't added to the filled prompts list in delicious: http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2293976#t2293976

Posts appearing out of order

(Anonymous) 2012-07-06 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Dear lovely mod

When I posted the latest two parts to this fill (http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=1825496#t1825496) I think I may have inadvertently posted them as replies to part 2 instead of part 1 so they appear out of sequence.

Is it possible to move them, or alternatively delete and I will re-post them?

The offending parts are 9a (http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2349272#t2349272) and 9b (http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2349528#t2349528)

Hi, Mod,

So, we're community of smut writers. There's a thread in the Discussion section talking about how the majority of us would be really upset if people made fun of us about out smut reading/writing habits.

Someone just posted a prompt to the effect of, "OMG, Mercer reads smut! Let us mock him shamelessly for this!"

http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2378968#t2378968

On the bright side, I've never felt this sympathetic to Mercer. But maybe this prompt needs some re-wording so it doesn't sound so insanely judgemental?

(Anonymous) 2012-07-14 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
This could just be me being oversensitive but it's bothering me so I'll at least say something.

Prompters often list their squicks or mention they dislike certain kinks and that's wonderful. Hearing that certain kinks give someone a "teeth-grinding grimace of horror" makes me pretty uncomfortable, however. I guess I don't see the need to elaborate on how much something disgusts you beyond "I just don't like it."

Prompt is http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2452440#t2452440

Double post

Hi, Sorry but I accidently uploaded the same chapter to a story twice.
Here's the link.
http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3603.html?thread=2527763#t2527763
Could you please remove this one? Sorry for the trouble and thanks.

Made a mistake.

Dear Mod(s), could you please remove this post? http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3603.html?thread=2534419#t2534419

I accidentally forgot to close the html tags and messed up the format for this portion. Thank you. c:

A red flag in a prompt.

*waves to the Mod*

http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3603.html?thread=2583571#t2583571

The OP says that they're against certain kinks in their story, which is they're right, but saying 'take out everything you would put in a 'normal' Cicero fill that's to do with being a douche to your fuck buddy.' seems to be a bit far, considering the rules, right?

insult?

(Anonymous) 2012-07-29 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=2629592&#t2629592

This person is telling other writers to leave the meme because we cannot write a better fill than this one? It is hurtful to hear that someone thinks I should stop writing, there is no competition here.

Wow, I am having a horrible day with posting!

I accidentally put my story post in the wrong place
Could you please delete this post and the comment under it

Thank you!

Hi Mod,
Can you maybe put something up on the last page of Section 2 to stop the prompts that keep coming in? I don't think everyone is familiar with why a section is closed for prompts, and new ones keep popping up there.

This is a community of anons that all love the same things I do, so I want to give people the benefit of the doubt and think that it's just a misunderstanding, but it's frustrating for me as an author and archiver for another meme.

Thanks!

(Anonymous) 2012-08-07 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Would a Mod mind deleting this post? I swear that one day I will remember to change my titles before posting. Today is not that day apparently :P

(Anonymous) 2012-08-07 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3603.html?thread=2738195#t2738195

Can we please not have nitpicking "grammar nazis", particularly for a language that is incomplete and inconsistent and not even real? Everyone is trying their best to translate and I've seen this person a few times going around basically saying "I'm an expert I know better than you" even though the language itself has flaws and contradictions in it.

(Anonymous) 2012-08-07 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone thinks disrespecting the meme is cool or something. http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3603.html?thread=2742803&#t2742803

(Anonymous) 2012-08-08 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3288.html?thread=1112280&

I don't know if this can technically be considered a problem, but this fic is approaching two hundred parts. I've been tracking the meme pages as a participant but it's really getting frustrating to have my inbox regularly explode with large amounts of this one thing.

Would it be possible to get a separate page just for super-giant fills, maybe? Author anons could link to their fill thread under the prompt, so it would make no difference for people who do want to read/track huge things and other people could opt out?

Maybe this is just my issue, but I've been frustrated for a while now and just needed to get that out of my system.

Rude?

(Anonymous) 2012-08-13 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
I was browsing new comments on page 3, and I found this comment;
http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3603.html?thread=2794771#t2794771

I don't know about the A!A, but I found this comment a bit rude. Maybe that is just me, though.

(Anonymous) 2012-08-20 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
If a comment is marked as spam, will it eventually be posted anyway? I tried linking a race mod a prospective filler of my prompt could use as the Dragonborn, but I think the spam filter's eaten it for some reason.

(The prompt in question is this one: skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/3603.html?thread=2828307 )
