FAQ And 'Help-Me'

If you want to contact a mod without the loss of anonymity that comes via PM, post your question/request here. Don't be shy!

Want a post deleted? Because of anonymity, we rarely delete fills but will consider deleting prompts if they violate the rules.

Have a question, suggestion or complaint?  This is the place to let us know, unless you'd like to contact us privately. You can also de-anon here, if you care to.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do I post anonymously?
A: Below the body of your message are two buttons: 'post comment' and 'more options...' Select the 'more options' button and you will be redirected to another page with the ability to preview as well as an option to open a drop down menu from your login name. From there you will have many options, but on the bottom is 'Anonymous'. Select this and it will mark you as anonymous even though you are still logged in. Remember, if you forget, just go back and delete you comment and re-post under anonymous.

Q: My prompt/fill/comment isn't showing up! What's going on?
A: Don't panic! Your post is not gone, just hidden. Sometimes LiveJournal
hides anonymous comments when the commenter is not logged in. Try
logging in or waiting a few hours. Sometimes it even takes a day. Please do not repost your comments without checking with a mod.

Q: When do we have Fill-a-Thon? How long do they last?
A: We have Fill-a-Thon at the start of every month, from the 1st until the 7th: one week. At that time all prompts posted will be deleted and saved to be reposted on the 8th, but this is a stress on the archivers and mods so please remember to save  them for the 8th. We want to encourage
people to fill, instead of just prompt as well as give our archivers a
break!

Q: Can I fill a prompt that's already been filled?
A: Yes, the more the merrier, plus that makes for an even more pleased OP.

Q: Can I fill a prompt that's already been claimed?
A: Yes, that's also just fine. Claiming is more for the OP's benefit.

Q: Can I post multiple prompts?
A: Go for it - but try to fill as well as prompt.

Q: When does the meme make a new thread for prompts and fills?
A: When the thread hits 20 pages a new one will be made for that particular category.

Q: I'm posting a big fill. How do I avoid the shrinking format problem?
A: Normally this becomes a problem around post 13-15. To solve the skinny paragraphs, just reply consecutively to the original prompt rather than replying to your previous posts one after the other.

Q: It looks like there's a lot of this pairing. Can I post/request more?
A: Of course! If there's already plenty of a certain character/pairing it's because anons want it.

Q: I have this weird pairing/kink/character fetish. Is it too weird for the meme?
A: Only if it's sexually involving someone under 15. Otherwise, go to town.

Q: What I wrote is kind of out-of-character. Is that OK?
A: Yup. All fills are welcomed here, including OOC ones. If the OP
specified in-character though, they might be disappointed. Do your best
and talk with the OP if you're concerned.

Q. Somebody posted something on my fill that hurts my feelings. Is it dumb to ask for it to be taken down?
A. Not at all. PM the mod
and we'll get right to it.

Q: Can I give feedback to the writers/artists?
A: If it's positive, yes. To avoid hurt feelings (and to encourage writers
of all skill levels) we don't post the hard stuff.

Q: My fill (or one I found) is labeled wrong/is missing in the archives. What do I do?
A: Link it here and we'll fix it ASAP.

Q: My prompt never got filled :( When can I repost it?
A: About a month later is fine.

Q: This prompt is months old. Should/Can I fill it?
A: YES! Even if the OP isn't around, other anons will LOVE to read it. You
can also repost the prompt and your fill if you'd like.

Q: Somebody requested a sequel. Where do I post it?
A: Just make a new thread in the main meme and post from there. Don't worry about keeping it with the original prompt.

Q: How do I upload fanart?
A: You can use sites like Comprehensive List of Adult Friendly Image Hosts, Adult Image Host, or File Fap.

Volunteer to be a Delicious Archive Linker!
1. At the beginning of every month the moderator will change the passwords
and requests new anon linkers in this thread. I will request anon
linkers who are fans of different characters.

2. Anyone can link for multiple months, they simply have to request the passwords again at the beginning of the next month.

3. Anyone can link anything they want.

4. ES Meme tracks all of the messages sent to the ES Kink Meme.  The
Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim posts go into one email.

5. We are currently caught up on the bookmarking. YAY! If your prompt/fill
hasn't been linked within a week, please PM the mod or reply on the FAQ
topic and request to be linked.

Delicious mistag

(Anonymous) 2011-12-07 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Psst. Seems to be an issue here. You have this prompt tagged as Morrowind.

http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/2095.html?thread=172335#t172335

Should be Oblivion and/or Skyrim, since anon is asking for characters from both games (or possibly they said Dragonborn, but meant CoC).

Thank you for the notice. Should have been tagged for Oblivion and F!Dragonborn should have been F!PC. All fixed now. (thumbs up)

Just want to say thank you, Mod! You rock for putting all this together. Best luck and wishes because this place so needed to happen. <3

It'd be nothing without you awesome anons working your magic: prompting, filling, commenting and the like. If we rock then you guys/gals rock more!

But the appreciation is awesome. :) And none of it wouldn't be half as nice looking without help from Dragonagekinkmeme and Falloutkinkmeme. They've been a great help.

Seconding the thanks oh yes-

I have to throw my hat in here too and say thanks, mod. You're awesome for keeping track of all of us! Thank you so much!

You're welcome anon, and thank you for the appreciation. Aside from the wonderful prompts and fills you all bang out, knowing that the meme is appreciated is a very pleasant feeling.

Delicious tags - Misspelled race?

(Anonymous) 2011-12-15 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
http://delicious.com/skyrimkinkmeme/prompt%3Afilled+race%253ABrenton

A few fills were tagged as 'Brenton', should be Breton.

Re: Delicious tags - Misspelled race?

[identity profile] skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com 2011-12-15 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for bringing that to our attention. With all the new traffic and updates for the delicious it might take 24 for the tags to all be renamed, if any longer then we'll do it manually.

Flat View

(Anonymous) 2012-01-01 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I wanted to suggest making a link to the flat view of the meme. That way people can see the most recent comments/fills. I've always thought a flat view link was really helpful. :)

Re: Flat View

[identity profile] skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com 2012-01-01 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I've provided a flat view link to both the Skyrim and Elder Scrolls threads under their respected 'thread view' links. If it works well, I think we'll keep it. However it does seem like it would take away from the importance of delicious somewhat.

We'll see. If it makes the thread easier for everyone, then it should be part of the meme regardless.

Thanks for the suggested as well anon. The more anons like you that come up with great suggestions, the better this meme will be for the New Year. :)

(Anonymous) 2012-01-10 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I posted a prompt yesterday which was automatically screened on my posting it. Possibly because it was partially inspired by a mod, so I linked the mod in question? I assumed it would be unscreened after being looked at to make sure it wasn't spam, but it's still nowhere to be found. Is there a rule against linking things? I checked for one before I made my prompt and didn't see anything.

Screened comments

[identity profile] skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com 2012-01-10 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
The only way to screen comments, as I know of, is for me to personally do it. Since taking over this meme, I have yet to screen a comment (if it violates any of the rules it's either deleted and reposted or not at all).

As for links in comments there is no rule against that either. A comment shouldn't be screened because of a link ever. The art fills are proof of that.

If you are still having problems posting the prompt again, send it to me via PM at skyrimkinkmeme and I can post it anonymously for you. And if you are still having problems in the future contact me and we can figure this out.

Re: Screened comments

(Anonymous) 2012-01-11 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Livejournal definitely told me that the comment was automatically screened as per the settings of the journal I was commenting to, that's all I can say about that. Maybe it glitched, I would not put that past them.

I don't really feel like typing it out again, potentially more than once, but thank you all the same for your response!

Re: Screened comments

[identity profile] skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com 2012-01-11 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
I have disabled any and all screening from the previous default. Hopefully that will solve your problem and any in the future. :) Sorry about the trouble.

Delete Request

(Anonymous) 2012-01-20 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
If you could kindly delete this, that'd be great: http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/1639.html?thread=712295#t712295

I hit "enter" too soon when I was editing the title.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-20 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Might be me being stupid / unobservant but are there any threads about how you go about laying out / replying to a fill? I'm kind of tempted to fill some of these delicious unfilled but am concerned about formatting / how to go about doing things... (Guess what I'm asking for is a 'how to begin for beginners' type thing...)

Oh! And thanks so much for this kink-ness. Loving the chance to write a bit of smut about my fave game of the past few months! :D <333

Posting for Beginners

[identity profile] skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com 2012-01-20 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
First off congratulations on taking the plunge into a!anon goodness! Contributing to the meme is the best thing an anon can do. :) So kudos on that.

Second of all we have a thread that explains most of the details on how to post and all that jazz, http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/1432.html

Though the absolute 'beginning for beginners' is to select reply to the original prompt once you're ready to post part or all of your fill.

The character limit for each post is 4300, so most fills will require multiple posts. Once you've posted your portion of the fill in the message window, go to your subject and type in the name of your fill title as well as what part it is (1/2) or if you're still writing it and don't know how many parts it will be (1/?). The following posts will heed to the same consecutive pattern (2/4, 3/4, 4/4).

Don't forget to post the kinks, characters and relationship type before or after your fill to help with archiving as well. And if you would prefer to write your own summary for the delicious link, then by all means.

If you have any more questions, or I haven't answered something obvious or even just enlighten you on more of the method, let me know. :)

Whoops

(Anonymous) 2012-01-22 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Please delete this: http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/1639.html?thread=746343#t746343 I replied to part 3 instead of part 1, and the formatting will bug me if it's not fixed.

Thanks!

Postings not showing up.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Dear Mod,

This thread (http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/1639.html?thread=758631#t758631) seems to be having problems with posts not showing up. I know LJ doesn't always show them straight away, especially if the poster isn't logged in, but I don't know if it's that or something else. I posted a fill for the above link yesterday, and according to the flat view it's there, along with some other comments, but they're not showing up on the thread itself. Just wondering if this was a delay, a problem with LJ, or my internet being silly.

Thanks for your time and patience.

Slightly Confused Anon

Re: Postings not showing up.

[identity profile] skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com 2012-01-27 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Confused Anon,

LJ indeed has trouble showing up posts, sometimes it can take up to 24 hours. I don't know why, but I can assure you that your posts are indeed there. I have the first portion already archived and am on to updated the other half that has also shown up.

Are you signed in?

Dear Mod,

No, I don't have an account, but all posts seem to be showing up now. Must have been my internet being slow - sorry about that. Thanks again for your help.

Anon,

It gets said a lot around the meme, but having a ghost account (just an account to view anon in) is best when LJ is slow to show posts. Some people don't have that problem, but many do. I think once you do that the problem will cease to bother you. :)

Hello my lovely mods of loveliness. I come to you this night to ask a favor.
