“Ah,” Nadia sighed, stretching her arms over her head and watching Bolli lock up the fishery for the evening. “Nothing like some hard work to make a girl hungry.” The fisherman smirked back at her, pocketing the key as they returned to the city.

“Depending on what you’re hungry for, we could head up to your room,” he teased quietly, out of earshot of the nearby guard. The Breton winked, but shook her head.

“As lovely as that sounds, what I could really go for right now is a steak. Especially horker. It’s been ages since I’ve had a good roasted horker.” Bolli frowned, pausing at the gate into the city, then turned abruptly to his lover.

“Come have dinner at my house. I’ll make you a horker steak.” Nadia tilted her head, smiling wryly up at him.

“You’re joking, right? You’re not very funny,” she said, pushing the gate open. Bolli followed her eagerly, taking her arm.

“I’m serious! You can meet Nivenor. We’ll all have dinner together,” he said. Now Nadia scoffed, crossing her arms.

“Of course,” she said sarcastically. “What a pleasant idea. ‘Hello, dear wife, allow me to introduce you to the girl I’ve been having sex with for weeks now! Do you mind if she stays for dinner? That way she can have even more of your meat!’” The Nord turned her by the shoulders, smiling tenderly enough to make her heart jump a bit.

“It’ll be fun. I’ve never cooked for you before, in all the time that we’ve known each other. Let’s give it a chance, okay?” he asked, sweeter this time. Nadia sighed, shaking her head affectionately.

“…Okay. But if Nivenor gets jealous of me, you’re dealing with it yourself.”

Sure enough, Nivenor was surprised to see that her husband had brought home the slightly familiar Breton once again. She rose to her feet, eying Bolli suspiciously.

“You didn’t tell me we were having a guest for dinner,” she said.

“It was a last-minute thing,” Bolli replied, gesturing for Nadia to come closer. “This is Nadia. She’s a friend of mine from the fishery. Nadia, this is my wonderful wife, Nivenor.”

“Nice to meet you,” Nadia said cheerfully, extending her hand to the Bosmer. “Bolli tells me he’s good at roasting horker. I’m looking forward to trying it.”

To Bolli’s private surprise, Nivenor did seem to express a genuine interest in their new guest. Their conversation grew lively as dinner progressed, as they asked each other about their lives before Riften, Nivenor’s favorite places to shop, and Nadia’s free time.

“I’m surprised you went for the fishery, honestly,” Nivenor said over her glass of wine. “A pretty girl like you, getting all messy and smelling like fish. It makes me wonder what you’d look like in some of my clothes.” Nadia smiled deviously, her eyes lingering on Bolli as she answered.

“If you don’t mind sharing, we could find out after dinner,” she said sweetly.

Bolli couldn’t believe the way Nadia had turned the tables. He sat motionless on his bed, watching his lover twirl around in some of his wife’s finest clothes. Nivenor looked on approvingly, hardly noticing Bolli as he stared at the Breton’s shapely hips. Nadia certainly noticed her audience, and looked over at him, turning so that he could see the way the dress clung to her curves.

“You look lovely,” Nivenor said with a smile, clapping her hands together. “You can keep a few dresses, if you’d like.”

“Oh, I couldn’t,” Nadia replied, smiling graciously back. “They’re beautiful, but they’re yours. I’m just glad to have been able to try them on.” She paused, looking over at the fisherman as she loosened the dress. “I very much appreciated dinner, Nivenor, thank you so much for having me. Do you mind if Bolli comes with me to the Bee and Barb for a few more drinks?” Behind his wife’s back, the Nord himself felt a heat rise in the pit of his stomach, and did his best to glare at Nadia despite it.
