My love of Galmar Stone-Fist is directly proportional to my LOATHING of him when we first met (and I really, really loathed him - he just seemed like everything that was wrong with the Stormcloaks). I think it was the speech he gave before the attack on Whiterun. Ulfric gets a lot of kudos for his eloquence, and rightly so, but I find Galmar's dialogue there quite moving, along with some of his surprisingly thoughtful ambient dialogue and the fact that he'll call you a cold bastard if you advise him just to kill Rikke at the Battle of Solitude. He's still a hotheaded and occasionally bloodthirsty extremist, but there's a lot more to him than that.
Can we subject a Dragonborn to slow-growing and utterly unexpected Galmar appreciation? Whether of the romantic, friendship, or you-remind-me-of-my-cranky-old-grandfather variety.
