That last part wasn't supposed to be so cliffhanger-y. I was going to upload this straight after but my internet died on me and then I had work and such. --- Kodlak Whiteman felt like he had woken from a dream. A dream of endless wandering was now met by clarity. He wondered how long he had been in this place for. He found himself sheltered by rocks and made his way towards the light.
It was not sunlight but starlight and as he looked up he realised he had made it to Sovngarde. As he tried to remember it all started to come back to him, how he was cured, his death, his life.
He felt like a new man, joints no longer aching when he moved. He felt like he could take on Tsun and enter the hall of Valour. He looked around him and saw others coming to the same realisation as him. There was one figure out of place though.
Kodlak took only a moment before he recognised the Dragonborn making her way towards him. He smiled when he saw the Breton, he honestly never thought he would see her again. He was dead and she was alive. He crossed his brows as she came closer to him.
Her side was open, blood thick, the wound deep. Was she dead? She didn’t seem to be affected by the pain but she was a Breton and they don’t just end up in Sovngarde.
“Kodlak.” She embraced him and he couldn’t help but close his arms around her. The wound had pierced right through her tiny frame. He wondered what had done such a thing. “Welcome to Sovngarde.”
“Ariella.” He said, voice full of concern.
“I’m fine.” She assured with a smile; the wound in her side said otherwise. Upon closer inspection there were scars that hadn’t been there before and a few other cuts and scrapes.
“You’re injured.”
“Fighting Alduin will do that to you.” She laughed and then extended her arm towards him. “May I escort you to the Whale Bone Bridge?”
“It would be an honour, Dragonborn.” They linked arms and began their walk. “How to the Companions fair?”
“Well enough. Aela is Harbinger; she cured herself not long after they cured you. Farkas helped her.”
“So, Aela and Farkas huh?” The old man chuckled thinking about the two of them. “I suppose it makes sense but at the same time I’m utterly confused.”
The both laughed, “So how did you end up here?”
“A Dragon flew me to a temple and then I had to teleport through. It’s all a very boring story really.”
“I highly doubt that. Is Vilkas here too or did he have to stay on Nirn?” Kodlak looked to her but Ariella’s eyes fell to the ground, her pace slowing.
“He’s uh, on Nirn.” She mumbled her reply. Of course he would ask her about him.
“So he gave into the beast?” Kodlak said, voice sad and far away. Ariella nodded unwanted images coming to the front of her mind. Images she thought she buried months ago. “The boy is a fool. He’ll come around, once he’s cured-”
“It’s fine, really. I suppose it just makes going back to High Rock easier.” Kodlak looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
“As long as you do what makes you happy, Ariella.” She looked up at him, a sad smile on her face. She would recover, at least she hoped. “How are the other Companions?”
“Aela tells me they’re fine. Athis is a Circle member now and they’ve gotten two new recruits.” Ariella spotted the bridge and her paced slowed once more.
