Meme Announcements!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017

Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.

I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.

The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3

My brain is currently screaming, "THERE? You had to stop it THERE!?" Which tells you a lot about how great Dyce and your stories are.

I think at some point I want to put all these in chronological order. Let's see, based on what's in the delicious...

-"One Good Thing"
-"Thaw"
-"Fair Exchange is No Robbery"
-"Initiation, Right?"
-"Service Please"
-"Monster Party"
-"Nothing But Trouble" (*)
-"How He Did It"
-"Redemption: It's a Love Story"
-"Mead and Sympathy"
-"One Night in Oblivion" (somewhere between "Initiation, Right?" and "Thank You"; crossover with Alix!verse)
-"You Bastard"
-"A Friend Like Him"
-"Recruitment Drive"
-"What's a Thief to a King?"
-"Scrapping for the Crown" (between parts 4 and 5, roughly)
-"Behind Closed Doors" (between parts 5 and 6)
-"Warmaiden" (halfway through part 6, point is marked)
-"Thank You"

I think that's about right. Dyce!anon, am I even in the right general area?

(*) Also, Dyce!anon (or anyone smarter than I am) - I think that in "Nothing But Trouble" Dyce says (on seeing the aurora borealis) that he doesn't know what they are because he hasn't been in Skyrim for long. Does that mean:
a) that they show up less often than in the game
b) that Dyce, unlike the game's PC, probably sleeps at night (or at least is indoors)
c) that I've missed something that makes this make much more sense, or
d) that my timeline has gone sideways somewhere?

(Obviously I can't change this if I'm wrong, but I can post a new version after a while, or make a central one that I can edit somewhere.)

Oh god you've done so much more work on this than I have. I haven't actually sat down and tried to work it out. The whole collection's grown very organically; I pick prompts I like, and try and fit them in as best I can with the ever-expanding canon of Dyce stories.

There are inconsistencies, let me tell you.

Okay, the first half of Nothing But Trouble is supposed to take place fairly early in the game; but probably not thatearly. The story is, I rolled Dyce in-game and replayed that particular quest, because I hadn't done it for ages, and when I came out of the tomb...yeah, massive gorgeous aurora. I couldn't help but put it in. Unfortunately, I didn't flag very much time between that and the second half with Vilkas, where he's slain a few dragons and all of that. Oops.

You've done a pretty excellent job. All that's missing is DOV AH CLAUS between You Bastard and Behind Closed Doors. Recruitment Drive probably happened a bit earlier, before A Friend Like Him - before the peace conference (although A Friend Like Him spans quite a length of time.)

Cool! I was hoping I'd gotten it mostly right... I should write this down somewhere....

I dunno how I missed DOV AH CLAUS; I blame the entire thing on me having done this at 2 in the morning, because I couldn't let it go. So it should be You Bastard, Recruitment Drive, DOV AH CLAUS, A Friend Like Him, then the rest.

(Again, you're an awesome writer, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of Dyce's adventures!)

Also the list is missing 'Vexed' which has never shown up on Delicious for me - I have no idea why. Which takes place...probably sometime after Initiation, Right and before How He Did It.

Do you have a link? I've seen references to it but I've never found the story itself.

Yep, http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/1639.html?thread=563815#t563815

It was the very first Dyce story ever written, so there are a few inconsistencies with his characterisation - I had no idea he was going to be such a huge slut; he was just a random Dragonborn.

Awesome, thank you! Looks fairly easy to place, but I have to admit I giggled at Dyce's reaction to "Ever been fucked in the arse?" from Vex. 'Cause... well, yeah, he has. Quite a lot. Seems even stranger if it's set after the incident with Grelka (who, funny story, I went to go find in Riften, only to remember after like twenty minutes of wandering around that she'd caught me pickpocketing her and Mjoll had killed her before I could do anything).

(I'm guessing it doesn't show up in the delicious because it's not tagged with series:Dyce?)

I edited it a bit before I put it up on Ao3 to make it fit in a bit better with the rest of Dyce's canon. It really is a bit odd as it stands.

Probably - I did ask them to tag it when I asked for a series tag, but that particular prompt seems cursed.
