Meme Announcements!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017

Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.

I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.

The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3

Slut-shaming on a kink meme. Bravo.

OP. I don't sarcasm over the prompts I don't like. Extend some common courtesy.

This isn't meant to be 'slut-shaming', but humorous, rather. As an example, I imagined a scenario where the Forsworn plan a raid, but everyone stays up the night before having sex, only to sleep through the planned attack in the morning.

Thank you for helping me clarify this, and bravo on reading the rules.

I did read the rules (http://skyrimkinkmeme.livejournal.com/1432.html). They say the following.

"-isms aren’t sexy. Don’t be disrespectful of real people’s real lives. Men, women, queer, straight, asexual, cis, trans, monogamous, polyamorous, parents, childfree, professional, bohemian, able-bodied, disabled... they’re all reading. None of them want to see slurs referring to them in your prompts."

No complaint is being made about your actual request. It was 100% possible to make it without the slut-shaming and the preemptive fauxpology...

The Forsworn women wear those skimpy outfits because they love sex, can't get enough most of the time, and are more than willing to oblige the kinky requests of their brethren, male or female.

Bonus points if the women are so horny that it interferes with the Forsworn's carefully-laid plans to do whatever they're doing, so most of the time they just wander around in camp like they do in-game.

I don't need to use my kink as a cheap, flimsy excuse for being a chauvinist pig.

Tada!

Way to be rude. I believe OP made those jokey comments about being a pig to get the idea across to people like you, that yes, it might be offensive to you, but everyone is offended by something. OP has an idea, and if someone likes it, they will fill it, or at least make comments along the lines of 'seconded', '+1', so on and so forth.

In a nutshell; if you have a problem with this 'slut shaming prompt'(I missed the part where the shaming comes in, but that's okay!), then build a bridge, get over it, and move on to the next prompt. OP's not being an ass hat, I (in my non-modly wisdom) don't see how the context of the prompt and any extra information included in said prompt violate kinkmeme guidelines; versus your comments, which blatantly go against said rules. Also, you might have quoted the guidelines, but you failed to tie it into the prompt. So, I fail to see your point on OP's violation.

TL:DR: Don't like it, move on. Don't piss the rest of us off by being rude. This meme is a great place, don't fuck it up for the rest of us.

On that note: +1 this prompt because reasons.

na

+1 for the prompt and +1 to this comment! Especially the TL;DR. The prompt isn't anything awful, imo.

(frozen comment) The prompt stays.

Anons,

I don't think this prompt is against the meme rules. There will always be prompts that some of us don't like, and there will always be those that test the waters on what is allowed and isn't allowed here.

No we don't tolerate slut-shaming or any other shaming of anyone or their subsequent kinks. This prompt could be skewed in a way that someone could call it slut-shaming, to a degree. But it's easy to do that with anything given the right content.

I won't tolerate anymore issues about the rights of this prompt. It's staying.

On that note though, OP: perhaps it was your first sentence "The Forsworn women wear those skimpy outfits for one reason: they're all sluts." started all this. The word slut can be rather infuriating.

The beauty of the meme is that we have tags and titles that can show you which ones you will like and not like. If anyone really has a problem with a prompt the worst thing they can do is confront the OP and there supporters in the prompts thread. Take the issue to the FAQ where it belongs. Thank you.

You really don't have a backbone do you? Thanks for allowing disgusting sesixt bs on what is meant to be a safe place for everyone.

(frozen comment) are you blind?

This breaks rules
">>Absolutely no discriminatory language." the word slut is more than just "an infuriating" word, it condemns people (mostly women) because they find enjoyment in sex. Saying someone "likes to wear skimpy clothing because they're sluts" is also discriminatory, and makes the op no better than the disgusting people who blame a woman's clothing for her being sexually assaulted.
The word "slut" is a slur used against women, and allowing it to be on here is disgusting. There is no "infuriating" aspect to it; only an oppressive aspect.
"no discrimination of kinks" by using the word slut, they are treating someone who likes a lot of sex, like an outcast. As I mentioned earlier the word is uses to be derogatory, and very prejudiced. (And yes, enjoying a lot of sex is a kink -I can't think of the specific term at the moment.)

At the very least, the op should have to rewrite this prompt, but by ignoring it you, the mod, have allowed toxic behavior onto the livejournal

Anons,

I understand your annoyance and am sorry that one of our previous mods did not kindly ask the OP of the prompt to repost without the discriminatory language. However, this response by a Mod was made more than a year ago as you can see and I'm confused as to why you both have chosen to reply to it after so long. Regardless I'm going to remove the prompt and repost it anonymously. I hope this will appease you both and resolve the conflict.

By the way, in the future, it would be helpful to head over to the FAQ/Contact Mod Thread with any problems you have, instead of insulting the Mods (to which I am just one right now). I'm trying to keep this Meme up to date and free of problems. You can help by letting me know in the Thread I just mentioned and not succumb to name calling. Thank you.
