Meme Announcements!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017

Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.

I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.

The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3

"Divide and Conquer" Ulfric Stormcloak/M!DB, 3d/??

Helping himself to a seat at the kitchen table, Ulfric stared inscrutably at him in the dim, flickering light of the dying fire. “That dragon would likely have made its way up here today,” he said. “That meager Imperial detail wouldn’t have stood a chance, even with the town guard to back them up.”

Especially with the town guard,” Audric grumbled.

Ulfric smiled. “I’m confident that there aren’t many Thanes in Skyrim who would be willing to take on that beast the way you did.”

Something bubbled up from an unknown pit inside of him then, and it got out before he could get control of it. “Ahziddur.”

“Pardon?”

“Her name was Ahziddur, and I slaughtered her.”

“She would have slaughtered us, and then perhaps the entire town.” When Audric remained unconvinced, Ulfric gently added, “As I understand it, dragons are driven by a fierce need to dominate. You, Dragonborn, merely acted on that need against an equal.”

For a while, there was nothing to be said, and only the popping of kindling and a chorus of crickets buffeted them against the threat of awkward silence. But Audric wasn’t going to let this man have the last word; it wasn’t in his nature to be bested.

“It may look deserving of the title, to slay a dragon. But then again, the other Thanes are not Dragonborn.”

“Perhaps.”

Audric went to bed that evening bristling with the suspicion that Ulfric had let him win the debate, and had managed the last word, besides.

Well thanks again, everyone, for joining me in this installment. I hope it's as fun for y'all to read as it is for me to write! I'll be back with more soon.

Your Ulfric is PERFECT. An arrogant bastard, but then he has moments of being surprisingly down-to-earth, and even kind. I love the part about him taking direction well. It's surprising, but at the same time I can see him as the sort of man who against all odds is good at working with his hands and doing small, practical things. And the last sentence is brilliant. That's Ulfric to a T. I would not want to get into an argument with a man that rhetorically talented.

Audric is equally marvelous, and exceptionally likeable. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them both.

author!anon here. Thank you so much; that's a lot of lovely complements right there.

My personal headcanon for Ulfric is that he has to be good at taking directions, especially in critical moments, because he's an ex-Legionaire, after all. He's a complex character (A++, Bethesda) and I'm nervous about writing him, especially as this is my first Skyrim fic. I'm glad to see that so far, I'm up to par.

Audric is almost as fun to play as he is to write, and I'm glad y'all are along for the ride :)

He is a soldier and he grew up being given strict direction by Arngeir (though he turned out not to be so good at taking those ones!), so it makes sense. It's just an interesting nuance in a man with such a commanding personality of his own.

There's a quote (about Oliver Cromwell) that always puts me in mind of Ulfric: "As he had all the wickedness against which damnation is denounced and for which hell fire is prepared, so he had virtues which have caused men in all ages to be celebrated." A++ to Bethesda indeed, and A++ to you for capturing that complexity!
