Meme Announcements!
ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017
Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.
I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.
The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3
Healing

It isn't pain. Perhaps that is why it stands out. It's helplessness, which is worse.
After a time so much of what they do to him runs together, in endless knots of blind white agony and blank black nothing. But the mornings are as stark and cold as a razor's edge. The mornings, after he has hung from his chains in the fevered state that may or may not be sleep, after the world has gone shivery grey about its edges and they decide he's had enough. Mistress Elenwen, we risk killing him if we press much further.
Heal him, then.
By the third time he starts to quiver at the words. By the third time the warm relief of the spell is utterly erased by the certainty of what will follow, the knives and the lash and the burns and the smell of lightning in his flesh, the boundless invention of his interrogator and the vivid awareness that only comes in the beginning, when his skin is a fresh canvas alive to every red spatter of pain. He is shackled hand and foot, spread like a drying pelt against the wall, and he cannot fight it. Can only shudder, while enemy hands caress the hurts away and Elenwen explains what she's going to do to him. He tries to keep his breathing even. It's all the control he has left.
Later he wonders about it. If there were no such thing as magic, he thinks. If they could only slay him once. Perhaps they would have pressed too hard, and killed him. Perhaps he would have died before he broke. Perhaps he would not have spilled his secrets like a coward, and the Empire he betrayed would not have betrayed Ulfric and his god and all his fallen comrades, in its turn. He only lets himself think it once. That way lies madness.
Nearly thirty years later, though, the distinctive chime of restoration magic still leaves him breathing in the slow, too-steady rhythm of a man failing to prove that he is not terrified.
