Meme Announcements!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017

Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.

I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.

The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3

Sleepless - Part 68/?

It took a lot longer than Ariella thought to prepare Skjor’s body. First Eorlund had her gather fire salts to prepare the Skyforge for cremation. Arcadia didn’t have any so Ariella had to go to Riverwood to see if Lucan had any. The walk would have taken a long time but thankfully the owner of the stable offered to lend her a horse. He rented it to her free of charge; he had seen her taking Skjor through the gates and knew a companion was trustworthy to bring the horse back.

Ariella wasn’t that fond or good at riding but the horse was a good beast and got her to Riverwood and back much fast than it would have taken her by foot. Lucan had just about pressed the three bowls of fire salts he had into her hands the second she asked. He insited she didn’t need to pay after returning the claw but Ariella left some coin anyway.

When she arrived back Vignar and Eorlund had taken off Skjor’s armour and had cleaned the body. His wounds were gruesome and made Ariella feel sick when she saw them.

Yet she had helped prepare the body with oils and other things of tradition. The body was dressed in ceremonial cloth, painted in Nordic design and then the body was wrapped so the beautiful work was hidden.

But that was the Nord way Ariella supposed. She looked down at Skjor’s face for the last time. He seemed at peace in death but Ariella didn’t want to let him go just yet. She hadn’t known him for that long and could only imagine how the others would have felt.

“Rest easy, Skjor.” Ariella whispered to him before finally wrapping his head. The plain white cloth that now covered Skjor was rough and didn’t look like anything special lay beneath. It was very Nord like; a hard, rough exterior with beauty and significance lying at the centre, if one can get past the appearance.

There was only moonlight when the funeral was ready to begin. Ariella guessed it was about one in the morning or so.

“Fetch the others.” Eorlund instructed her. Ariella went without question, this was something that had to be done no matter the time.

When she entered Jorrvaskr all eyes fell to her. She wasn’t really surprised to see everybody still up. Kodlak was the first to move, rising to his feet, his old bones cracking as he walked towards the door. The rest of them followed and soon they were all standing by the Forge, it being the only source of light aside from the moons.

There was silence as they looked at the body laying amongst the forge; magic being the only thing keeping it from burning.

There was silence as everyone took a moment to say their final goodbyes to Skjor; silent prayers each of them hoped would somehow reach him.

The silence lingered and finally Eorlund said, “We should begin.”

More silence followed, Ariella knew the words, Vignar had told her what to say. It didn’t feel right starting, but as the silence lingered she spoke, her voice wavering, “Before the ancient flame…”

“We grieve.” Everyone spoke as if it had been rehearsed over and over. The circle picked up in turn from where Ariella had started.

“At this loss…”

“We weep.”

“For the fallen…”

“We shout.”

“And for ourselves…”

“We take our leave.”

Eorlund lit a single torch and handed it to Aela. The huntress, being the only one to not speak stepped towards the forge. After saying a final goodbye to her dear friend and mentor she lit the fire. The body went up in a spectacular display of flames yet Ariella couldn’t bring herself to look. She looked down and waited for the sounds of the flames to die down.

“His soul is departed…” Kodlak said and the companions began to walked back to Jorrvaskr.

----
So for those interested Kodlak says "At this loss", Vilkas "For the fallen" and Farkas says "And for ourselves."
I just didn't know how to put that in without breaking the flow.

The moment is sad and I'm anxious to see the comparison between Vilkas and Ariella, I hope that everything goes well! It would be nice if there was a Farkas trying to give comfort to Aela ... I'd like to see an evolution of this relationship
