Meme Announcements!
ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017
Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.
I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.
The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3
Sleepless - Part 108/?
(Anonymous) 2014-04-21 11:00 am (UTC)(link)Given the curse Hircine laid on me when we first began our research I know we will be angering him.
I began to wonder what held the Daedric Prince at bay and I believe it may be Ariella. The Dragonborn seems to be free from his influence. This daughter of Akatosh is going to be the key to the future of the Companions.
She has brought us closer to the cure in the few months she has been here than we would have if we were on our own.
I didn’t know what to think of Ariella for a long time. The Scholar most certainly did not belong within these walls and it was clear she was being brought in for Vilkas. Yet her guidance and leadership shown during Skjor’s death astounded me. Her wisdom is far beyond her years, indeed.
I know as soon as Ariella leaves Jorrvaskr will be attacked, Akatosh’s influence leaving the hallowed halls will leave us vulnerable to Hircine. Still I will send her to the Glenmoril Coven tomorrow and that will be my final day.
I wished I had more time to elect a new Harbinger officially. Yet my heart is undecided.
Farkas is too simple minded to take up the role of leadership. His skills as a warrior are unmatched but being a Harbinger is about so much more than that.
Vilkas lets his emotions rule him while trying to not show them at all. His wolf controls his actions and have for so long even I have begun to lose sight of the boy he was before the blood.
Aela possesses the skill and wisdom to be Harbinger, yet her spirit is bound so closely with the blood. Vengeance pours through her soul and she lets her most negative feelings guide her actions. I fear leaving her in charge would curse the Companions with the beast blood forever and leave little choice in the matter.
Then there is Ariella, wisdom beyond measure and a fire in her heart just waiting to be ignited. I had hoped that fire would be sparked by battle and glory yet as time progresses I see that is just not practical. Her heart beats with a thirst for knowledge, not battle. The only time I see that potential in her alight is when she is around Vilkas. Her love for him is strong and pure; it is also what binds her to these halls now. This place is not her home and I sense she will be drawn to High Rock soon enough. It would be unfair to place the position of Harbinger on her shoulders, binding her here by obligation not by her choice.
Perhaps the Companions will be without a Harbinger for the first time. Unless someone surprises by a change of heart I fear I will not be able to announce a new Harbinger.
---
Aela stood holding the journal. She had spoken with Farkas about curing herself before; she felt the weight of Nirn on her shoulders, was she going to have to lead the Companions?
She handed the journal to Ariella who read through the last few pages, looking every part the scholar as she read.
“Are you willing to cure yourself?” Ariella asked and Aela nodded, feeling pale.
“I’ve been speaking to Farkas about it.”
“Then I suppose that settles it.”
“You and Farkas should take over until I cure myself though.” Ariella frowned at the Huntress, “Farkas is the warrior that Harbinger needs to be and you have all the wisdom he lacks. Farkas will lead and you will organise.”
“But Vilkas…”
“Don’t worry about Vilkas, he’ll mourn in his own way before coming back to normal.” Aela assured the Breton. Ariella had heard the insults he had thrown around so casually, she wasn’t so sure about Vilkas returning to normal and though Aela wouldn’t admit it, she felt the same, Vilkas was too stubborn for his own good. The Huntress just hoped that for once the brooding wolf surprised them all.
