Kodlak needs to....DESERVES to live through this! He is the father figure to all in Jorrvaskr especially to Vilkas and Farkas. Killing Kodlak follows closely the games cannon script but just for once I really wish someone would let the old man live through the the Silver Hand attack so he can enjoy relative good health and spirit in his remaining years AND be allowed to reveal in the knowledge that he has finally been triumphant in gaining freedom for his and the others souls. He should and deserves to live out his remaining years hail and healthy WITHOUT the "curse" of Lycanthropy burdening his soul. Killing him will no doubt be a devastating blow to all involved but you all saw how both Vilkas and Farkas reacted to Skjor's death. Well...imagine their shared grief in Kodlak's case. Everyone already blames both Gunnar and Aela for the attack, it will be hard just to heal those wounds but for Kodlak to die BECAUSE of Gunnar's recent actions will make it almost impossible for Vilkas to reconcile with Gunnar. Now try to imagine Vilkas still having any feelings for the man who caused the death of his beloved leader, mentor and father. NO, letting Kodlak die would be allowing a legend to be killed by the hand of the most hated enemy the Companions have ever faced. It would make them lose face and lets not forget they made off with the pieces of wuthrad, this is a double blow for all of them to stomach. And of amongst the family members Vilkas will suffer the most and will be inconsolable for months. I feel it will have a negative and permanent change to his and Gunnar's relationship. I think the circumstances will morph their current Love/Angst relationship into something akin to a jail bait uncle who no one fully trusts any longer. It will be sad to say the least...so I've given my two cents worth so I would like to hear from other readers as well but PLEASE!!!! let Kodlak live.....Cheers!!!:-)
