The Main Course 2/2

She smiled slightly. “The offer to stay the night still stands.”
He glared at her. “You don’t need me in your family, Hanna. Your son doesn’t need that.”
She shrugged and hooked her thumb over the neck of his shirt and pulled him down for a quick kiss. When they broke apart, her eyes were disappointed but unhurt. “Goodbye, Skjor. Come and see me the next time you bore of Vignar’s rambling.”
Skjor nodded, not wanting to say anything that would broke an argument on the manner, that had happened before and he always lost, regardless of whether it was physical or verbal. He walked out of the door in silence and back to Jorvaskar, ignoring the odd look a guard gave him. Let the man wonder why he would be visiting the Thane so late at night, mystery was what made life rich. That, and silver haired minxes who were younger than their years.
