Erandur sighed. “Ah, no. It’s difficult for me sometimes,” he muttered. He didn’t look all that happy about it.

Dyce detached himself as gently as he could and took his weight off Erandur. “Do you want to do it for yourself?” he asked. Erandur didn’t reply, but he didn’t look enthusiastic either; he looked annoyed at himself.

“It’s all right,” Dyce said. “I mean, is it all right?”

“It’s fine,” Erandur muttered. He smiled, “I enjoyed it. Honestly.”

Dyce raised an eyebrow. “Hm. Would you like me to suck it?”

Erandur met his gaze for a moment and looked away again. “If you would like.”

“Course I’d like. Just a moment.” He did his best to clean himself up a bit before curling his legs up to fit on the bed and propping himself up on the arm that was least tired. Erandur was going soft again and Dyce stroked and kissed his cock until he wasn’t, and then he lowered his mouth onto it as far as he could, and Erandur gasped.

Erandur hummed and stroked Dyce’s head and undulated up against his mouth as Dyce sucked and squeezed his cock. It didn’t take as long as he’d expected for Erandur to be choking on his name and fisting his fingers in his hair, and then Dyce was choking as Erandur apparently took himself by surprise and came down the back of Dyce’s throat with a hoarse shout. He crawled up to lie beside him and they pulled the blankets up. Erandur was too tired to talk, and he draped an arm over Dyce and started snoring almost immediately. After sleeping all day, Dyce wasn’t as tired, and he lay awake for a while longer, watching Erandur sleep.

When Erandur woke up, he looked utterly bewildered for a few moments.

“Hello,” Dyce said.

“Hello. Oh, right.” He smiled and then tried to sit up and winced.

“Are you all right?” Dyce looked at him worriedly. “How’s the arse?”

“The arse is fine,” Erandur frowned. “My legs feel like they’re about to drop off.” He straightened them and winced again.

“Maybe you should stay in bed today,” Dyce suggested.

“Don’t be ridiculous. I’m fine. I have to get up and pray anyway.”

He started to get up and Dyce seized him around the middle and pulled him back into bed.

“Just a moment.” He released him and ran a hand over his hair. “We should probably, you know, discuss-”

“Dyce. I told you to trust me. Go.” He regarded him with a compassionate look and then leaned over and kissed his cheek. “Just come back and visit sometime.”

Dyce released a breath he thought he might have been holding all night. “Okay. But I don’t think you should stay here any more. This place is just too-”

“Dyce.” Something in his tone made Dyce shut up. “I neither demand, nor even want you to change your nature. This life I lead has been hard won; don’t ask me to change it.”

Dyce folded his arms. “That’s a low blow.” He sighed, “All right. What if I need your help?”

“Then you need only lead, and I’ll follow. Breakfast?”

“Oh. Thank you. Wait, let me get it.”

Erandur prayed, Dyce cooked, and they ate in companionable silence.

“Go with the blessings of Mara,” Erandur said formally, when Dyce was once again standing at the door.

“Dibella bless you too,” Dyce said with far less gravitas.

A faint smile drifted across Erandur’s face. “I think she already did that,” he said quietly.

Dyce looked at him for a moment and then laughed. “You might be right.” They stepped into a cold cloudy day, and walked down the hill before separating, Erandur turning towards Dawnstar, and Dyce the open road.

Aw, that was sweet! I was really happy to see Dyce finally show some actual, serioud affection.

Oh my, good feelings. Dyce fills are fun and Erandur is definitely one of my favorite NPCs. I think it really works that Dyce didn't want to mess anything up by trying to seduce him, and then it's Erandur who asks for it. And the realistic sex, love it.

Aw. I teared up reading this - for some reason it just managed to play my heartstrings. The sweetness of Erandur, especially the way he seems to accept Dyce fully the way he is... beautiful stuff, Dyce!anon, beautiful.

You know, I never thought I'd see Dyce being shown the door by someone else. That seems like such an odd twist of fate, especially considering who's doing it. But Erandur is wise and knows that Dyce would lose his mind in about 10 minutes if he had to park himself in the temple.

Now, (and I'm struggling with how to phrase this) there are some sterotypes in relationships between and older man and a much younger partner, (male or female) and well, they're not pretty. On either end. The older man is looking to dominate something beauitful-the younger person is doing it for approval or for material gains, and affection, respect and love either get dumped early on or are never part of the mix.

But Erandur is very, very careful to make sure this doesn't go there. Not that Dyce needs either approval or money, but its noticable how careful they both are to be doing this from a loving place. Another thing I don't normally connect with Dyce.

Which is the whole point of the story. How does Dyce's heart work? Does he actually love someone other than himself? It's fitting that a priest of Mara is who helps him explore that. The end result is something a little strange, a little sad, and very sweet.

I have to wonder how this is going to effect Dyce has he continues his adventures, because I don't believe he's leaving Dawnstar unchanged. This was really lovely in so many ways, Dyce!anon. It's a real love story, starting Dyce. Who would have expected it?

Now, if I can stop being quite so maudlin and sentimental for a moment- My request list is growing. We have to do something about that. Curretly, I'm personally asking for the following.
1: MOST IMPORTANT! I want to see how Dyce is changed by this expereince. (If he is at all) Doesn't matter who, what or where, I'm just curious as to the after effect.
2: Brynjolf! There's still some healing that needs to happen down in Riften. PLUS, I ask you- Is it fair that Vex, Rune, Cynric, and even Mercer has had some of Dyce, but his beautiful second hasn't??? There is a gorgeous man with a gorgeous voice- Let's Fuck HIm!
3: Farkas!!! Really, either of the twins and I'd be doing a congaline around my computer. I like big Nords and I can not lie. Dyce said he loves Farkas, I need to read it!
4: You might have noticed, I have a bit of a voice kink. (No??? Really???) And since I'm never going to get a Dyce/Fenris cross-over, (Hang on, my head just exploded) the most sexy voices in Skyrim are the Dragons. Please, please pleaseplease!!!! Dyce!anon. I need a meeting between Dyce and one of the big guys. I'm not fussy. Hell, I'd take Sahloknir at this point. No sex is needed, just a conversation would make me very, very happy.

So, there you go. What have we learned? That Dyce is an awesome loving man. That Erandur is a very wise and sexy mer. That long-review-writing!anon is a demanding bitch and likes voices.

I had a weird nightmarish sort dream where things went wrong. Came here and reread to reassure myself they didn't. And I really needed the reassurance- I think that says something.

I don't really remember- although I'm sure it had something to do with death- my brain wasn't going for coherency so much as terror I think. The fever I've been running off and on likely did not help. :p But I do adore these fills!

Influence of Vaermina?

This was so painfully sweet that it made me want to cry.

I love the depth of this story. Dyce is always fun to read, and this was no exception. Seeing him trying to deal with consequences instead of just lopping off after being sexed was an amazing change.

I had hoped for some Dark Brotherhood loving, but given his unhappiness about Nocturnal, I just can't see him becoming the Listener. Or even qualifying to join the Brotherhood. Dyce is too sweet for his own good. He loves too easily and has been hurt by it enough that he's made a barrier to survive.

Thanks for this story Dyce!Anon. I've always been a little jealous of your ability to have made a long term character on the SKM. It's like seeing an old friend and having a reunion every time I read your stories and see everyone's comments.

Yeah, Dyce simply wouldn't work as an assassin - kind of like he'd be pretty useless as a mage.

I must confess I felt a bit guilty at first, using the same character over and over again, but people seemed to like it, and hopefully it doesn't come across as too self-promoting. I do, at least, write non-Dyce fills as well.
