The Duel - 2/?
(Anonymous) 2012-08-17 04:40 am (UTC)(link)Sharp pain ran across his legs and neck, his tail ached greatly and all he wanted was to wrap his wings around him and sleep.
As confusion left him, the dovah felt solid ground underneath him. The memories from his dream came back as he shot up but immediately fell flat on his head. Everything seemed to be bigger, yet it all looked smaller at the same time.
Looking to his side, the dovah caught a fair skinned shoulder with his eye and screamed.
He could hear the wind hitting the mountain, the soft melody that many nights brought him to slumber. But he could not hear his scream.
His paws immediately grabbed his throat. Newfound fingers feeling soft skin. Letting go of the soft neck, he raised the hands and wiggled his fingers as he stared at them.
Paarthurnax sat there for half an hour, staring at his new hands.
Impossible.
Looking down from his hands he was greeted with a just as soft stomach, his fingers feeling the skin. It all felt so new to him. His legs were long and muscular. They were also slightly covered with dark, blond hair.
Making an effort to stand up, Paarthurnax fell down once more, but this time his knees stopped the hit. His legs felt wobbly. Breathing deep, the dovah pushed up once more finally succeeding in maintaining balance and not fall on his now human face.
The cold wind made him shiver and his arms instantly wrapped around his torso. His eyes widened in curiosity. That was a weird feeling, his new body moved almost on his own. Getting used to this new body was going to be an adventure on its own.
Turning around, the now man dared give a step fearing defeat by the wobbly legs. Paarthurnax gained confidence as nothing happened once he walked a couple of feet. The muscles on his legs were wrenching in pain, but nothing he could not endure.
As he neared the rocky pathway that leads to High Hrothgar, the dovah noticed his limbs were starting to tingle and hurt once more. As his hands rubbed his upper arms, he came to the conclusion that there was a reason why humans wore strange clothes around their bodies. The cold was making him go numb.
He was completely bare after all.
Walking down slowly, Paarthurnax wished for the traps he set when he was a fleshed dovah were no longer there. It would be impossible for him to go down and visit the Greybeards without his Thu’um.

His toes touched the cold stone as he stood under the tall archway that led up to the Throat of the World. Closing his eyes in meditation, the dovah called upon the divines for everything to go as he planned.
Walking slowly towards the back doors, he gently placed his hand flat on the door and pushed with his arm. It all felt bizarre to him, but nothing he could not get used to. Walking in, the dovah closed it and made his way to the main area where the Greybeards usually get together to pray.
A loud crash was heard as cups rolled on the stony ground and some kind of liquid splattered around. Turning around, Paarthurnax stared at a shocked Arngeir.
This was going to be hard to explain.
The Duel - 3/?
(Anonymous) 2012-08-17 04:42 am (UTC)(link)Arngeir approached him and stared at him incredulous. The old man had been confused but regained his composure immediately after, not wanting for him to find him in any way vulnerable. After that he was clothed and fed and then the monks gathered to discuss what was coming next.
He needed to go find her.
“We don’t know how you got here, or what you were doing out there completely nude. But there is nothing worth stealing and we can’t do anything with someone that doesn’t possess the ability to speak.”
Nodding, the dovah stood and walked towards what he assumed was the front of the monastery.
“I’ll see you again.” The old man said to his back.
Paarthurnax didn’t show his surprise when his lips curled into a smile as he walked away from the monk.
Cruel, cold air hit his face once more as he stepped out. He needed to figure out a way to find the Dragonborn as fast as he could; there is no more time to waste.
