Outside, it was growing dark even more quickly than Ralof had estimated. Already the valley was in shadow as the sun slipped behind the ridge of the mountains.

"Talos preserve us," Ralof muttered, glancing into the inky blue shadows of the swiftly darkening woods. Lendri stopped and turned, and Ralof stopped just short of running into him. They were so close that Ralof noticed the thin line of green eyeliner around the elf's dark amber eyes. For an absurd moment, he thought the elf was about to kiss him. Instead he hissed,

'Speaking of Talos, that reminds me...I better not hear a single 'victory or Sovngarde' out of you or so help me I will start thinking about some way to inflict suffering on you. Understand?"

Ralof tried not to smile. He'll 'start thinking about it', eh. That's a threat so hollow you can hear the echoes. "Yeah, I understand."
