“I’m sure there won’t be a problem. If I tell him you were in Helgen with us, he would definitely want to speak with you.” The tall blond gathered some paperwork along with the ones they signed and pointed behind him. “If you wait here a bit, I can see if I can get him to come talk to you.” He then walked away and disappeared from behind an iron door on the other side of the room they were in.
Thales nodded with her head and her heart started to beat fast. This was exhilarating, all the days she’s been following the path Mara set her on have been arduous, but at the moment it almost seems to be worth it. For a second it became hard to swallow and the redhead started to feel her eyes prickling with tears.
“Thales?” Sapphire asked from her side, placing a warm hand on her shoulder and rubbing it softly.
“I don’t know what’s happening,” The Imperial raised her hands to rub her eyes and frowned at her internal turmoil, “I don’t even know if he’ll talk to me or not. Somehow, an overwhelming feeling came over me.”
“Why is talking to Ulfric important? Does he know who your father is?” Her friend tilted her head and crossed her arms across her chest as both waited for the blond to return.
“Yes. Or so I think.”
“What are you going to do once you find him?” Sapphire spoke after a minute of silence. The shorter woman lowered her head and wrapped her hands around her stomach defensively.
When she was younger, she always dreamt of having her parents, that’s a fact. Now that she’s an adult going on her twentieth winter, it was difficult to adjust her desires. Her whole life has always been about wanting hugs and kisses, maybe the unconditional love everyone always seems to rely on. But now that she’s no longer a child, it was hard to fathom exactly what her actions are going to be is she able to find her father alive.
“Catch up?” The joke fell flat, but her friend smiled anyway.
Shrugging at the question, before her friend could ask more, both looked up when they heard Ralof open the door with a looming body behind him. Thales felt herself unable to breathe once more when her green eyes locked with the green eyes of Ulfric Stormcloak. At that moment she was aware enough of her own body, noticing the slight trembling of her fingers and the chill of the room they were in despite the fire crackling behind them.
