They reached Blind Cliff Cave without any problems. Luckily for, his Thane cleared the area not long ago and it was a safe place for them. Argis sighed, looking at her. She was still sleeping. It’s been two hours since they were here. Nothing would wake her, he knew it.
“Vampires cannot be awoken by something external. That’s why you’ll have to protect me when I sleep, Argis.”
CuSith and Garmr were running after a baby skeever. Vigilance was sleeping at the cave entrance and Meeko was looking at Mallari. Argis took his head in his hands. He closed his eyes in exhaustion. It was a living nightmare.
Meeko barked.
“What is it, Meeko?” he asked, eyes still shut.
“Argis...?” He opened his eyes.
She was awake. He started to cry.
“M...Mallari? You’re...Oh gods...”
“What is this place? Why am I here?” she asked, disappointed.
Argis lowered his head in shame.
“I I-am sorry my thane... Your house, they... Couldn’t protect you...”
She took him in her arms.
“I failed...I’m so... Sorry...” he cried.
“Shhh...You didn’t fail, Argis. I’m alright.”
Her voice was low and her soft hands were stroking absently her housecarl’s hair.
“Everything is alright...”
She will find the lesser leech that came to her city and tried to trick and murder her.

/ Thought it was Mallari the culprit, eh? Actually, in the middle of writing this I decided that... nah. Not her. The perspective of another "lesser" vampire trying to murder a vampire lord by turning a whole city against her was too appealing.
/ Basically I just wanted to write something with Argis and witch hunt, with torches and everything. I mean, when your PC is a vampire it's obvious and it's like no one is giving a single fuck.
/ When I finished this and re-read it to correct eventual mistakes, I noticed how similar it was to Movarth's quest in Morthal.
/ I hate the Silver-Blood family. But gods, I loved to write Thongvor and Thonar here.

Mallari disappeared for months after a mission she did for the Dawnguard.
"Normal" vampires can't help serving a vampire lord when they're near one and can be thralled by them too.
