FAQ And 'Help-Me'

If you want to contact a mod without the loss of anonymity that comes via PM, post your question/request here. Don't be shy!

Want a post deleted? Because of anonymity, we rarely delete fills but will consider deleting prompts if they violate the rules.

Have a question, suggestion or complaint?  This is the place to let us know, unless you'd like to contact us privately. You can also de-anon here, if you care to.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do I post anonymously?
A: Below the body of your message are two buttons: 'post comment' and 'more options...' Select the 'more options' button and you will be redirected to another page with the ability to preview as well as an option to open a drop down menu from your login name. From there you will have many options, but on the bottom is 'Anonymous'. Select this and it will mark you as anonymous even though you are still logged in. Remember, if you forget, just go back and delete you comment and re-post under anonymous.

Q: My prompt/fill/comment isn't showing up! What's going on?
A: Don't panic! Your post is not gone, just hidden. Sometimes LiveJournal
hides anonymous comments when the commenter is not logged in. Try
logging in or waiting a few hours. Sometimes it even takes a day. Please do not repost your comments without checking with a mod.

Q: When do we have Fill-a-Thon? How long do they last?
A: We have Fill-a-Thon at the start of every month, from the 1st until the 7th: one week. At that time all prompts posted will be deleted and saved to be reposted on the 8th, but this is a stress on the archivers and mods so please remember to save  them for the 8th. We want to encourage
people to fill, instead of just prompt as well as give our archivers a
break!

Q: Can I fill a prompt that's already been filled?
A: Yes, the more the merrier, plus that makes for an even more pleased OP.

Q: Can I fill a prompt that's already been claimed?
A: Yes, that's also just fine. Claiming is more for the OP's benefit.

Q: Can I post multiple prompts?
A: Go for it - but try to fill as well as prompt.

Q: When does the meme make a new thread for prompts and fills?
A: When the thread hits 20 pages a new one will be made for that particular category.

Q: I'm posting a big fill. How do I avoid the shrinking format problem?
A: Normally this becomes a problem around post 13-15. To solve the skinny paragraphs, just reply consecutively to the original prompt rather than replying to your previous posts one after the other.

Q: It looks like there's a lot of this pairing. Can I post/request more?
A: Of course! If there's already plenty of a certain character/pairing it's because anons want it.

Q: I have this weird pairing/kink/character fetish. Is it too weird for the meme?
A: Only if it's sexually involving someone under 15. Otherwise, go to town.

Q: What I wrote is kind of out-of-character. Is that OK?
A: Yup. All fills are welcomed here, including OOC ones. If the OP
specified in-character though, they might be disappointed. Do your best
and talk with the OP if you're concerned.

Q. Somebody posted something on my fill that hurts my feelings. Is it dumb to ask for it to be taken down?
A. Not at all. PM the mod
and we'll get right to it.

Q: Can I give feedback to the writers/artists?
A: If it's positive, yes. To avoid hurt feelings (and to encourage writers
of all skill levels) we don't post the hard stuff.

Q: My fill (or one I found) is labeled wrong/is missing in the archives. What do I do?
A: Link it here and we'll fix it ASAP.

Q: My prompt never got filled :( When can I repost it?
A: About a month later is fine.

Q: This prompt is months old. Should/Can I fill it?
A: YES! Even if the OP isn't around, other anons will LOVE to read it. You
can also repost the prompt and your fill if you'd like.

Q: Somebody requested a sequel. Where do I post it?
A: Just make a new thread in the main meme and post from there. Don't worry about keeping it with the original prompt.

Q: How do I upload fanart?
A: You can use sites like Comprehensive List of Adult Friendly Image Hosts, Adult Image Host, or File Fap.

Volunteer to be a Delicious Archive Linker!
1. At the beginning of every month the moderator will change the passwords
and requests new anon linkers in this thread. I will request anon
linkers who are fans of different characters.

2. Anyone can link for multiple months, they simply have to request the passwords again at the beginning of the next month.

3. Anyone can link anything they want.

4. ES Meme tracks all of the messages sent to the ES Kink Meme.  The
Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim posts go into one email.

5. We are currently caught up on the bookmarking. YAY! If your prompt/fill
hasn't been linked within a week, please PM the mod or reply on the FAQ
topic and request to be linked.

I saw that my fill was updated into delicious, but my series:Buttered_Toast tag wasn't added. Was this an oversight? Can I get it fixed please? Thanks.

Delicious Tag Bundles

(Anonymous) 2014-08-13 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Hey Mod!

I was just wondering how the tag bundles work? I check the series tag bundle a bit but it never updates with the new series, just the old ones. Is this just my view?

Psst! Hey! You've got the wrong summary entered for this on Delicious.

doubt about double-fills

(Anonymous) 2014-08-31 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi! I filled a prompt today: http : // skyrimkinkmeme . livejournal . com/3389 . html?thread=8354365#t8354365

and it's a multi-filled one, my work is the second fill called 'Carved in Stone', 16/16 already finished

the first fill is already archived under the tags, and being new here, I don't know how different stories posted in the same thread are archived, if under the same title or separatedly, it might be a stupid question, but I truly am lost :P if they can be archived separatedly, despite being the same thread, then I'd like to have mine tagged! tags are already added in the introduction

if not that's okay! people can always see it by scrolling down :) thanks in advance and sorry again for the silly doubts!

Thanks! :)

Fill-A-Thons, Self-Prompted Fills, and Fills that Stray?

(Anonymous) 2014-09-05 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried to fill a prompt, but the story strayed from that of the prompt, do I post it with the prompt or do I post it as a self-prompted fill? Can I link back to the original prompt?

Also, I'm working on an additional self-prompted fill that I wrote, can I post it during a Fill-A-Thon?

I don't like being one of 'those' anons but I thought third person referrals to yourself aren't allowed...?

May I direct your attention to some unnecessary fill bashing?

Hello Mods,

We have a troll among us!

This comment:

skyrimkinkmeme dot livejournal dot com slash 4580 dot html ?thread=9821668#t9821668

And all replies to it. Can you intervene and delete that whole thread before it gets out of hand any more than it has? Thank you!

This whole thread is getting out of hand, Mod. Can we do something about it, please?

I know this is extremely unorthodox mod but I am the author of that fill and a lot of others and I know unless you have a good reason, fills are up to stay. But my confidence is honestly shot. I did witness what happened today (hours later) and can see the other threads and encouraging comments below it but I really, really feel awful about the fill I did now. I know the last time I asked you to take down a fill because I didn't honor the OP but this time it's honestly over how upset I am. So please, I know it's a lot to ask but please, I beg of you, can you just take down my fill?

Hi, accidentally double-posted a prompt. I blame my tablet and the wi-fi I was using in equal measure. :)

Spammy Nonsense

(Anonymous) 2014-09-26 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
Two spam comments, one after the other, at the bottom of page 4 of Elder Scrolls: Page 1.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-29 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
It's not that I don't appreciate that people just post fills to the meme - I really, really do - but sometimes those fills plain to the page can get pretty long. Would it be reasonable to ask for a rule that says you put a filler comment above the unsolicited fill (maybe it could list off tags and stuff?) so that long prompts can be closed/close themselves if the page gets super stuffed.
If that makes sense.

Missed indexing this on Delicious!

Why was my comment deleted?

(Anonymous) 2014-10-02 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
?? I wasn't trolling. Trolling is intentionally making people emotional. Hurt feelings dont mean trolling. Honestly, i find it really strange that you can't state an opinion on here that isn't a glowing review of a fic. Why is constructive criticism bad? What is wrong with indicating how someone can maybe think and improve their work. People don't get better if they are told they are amazing all the time, especially with heavy material being used.

Hi mods! This is like super old, but if someone could add the series:Asta to this fill, that'd be super! (I went to try and find it so I can try to get back into gear and saw it wasn't tagged. I'm like 80% positive this was the first fill for the series, so probably forgot to tell anyone to tag it.)

Thanks so much~

(Anonymous) 2014-10-08 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
I have a question about critique.
Why not do the "compliment sandwich" technique? It's basically one compliment, one piece of advice for improvement, and a compliment to finish it off.

can the title please be fixed ?

(Anonymous) 2014-10-08 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
skyrimkinkmeme dot livejournal dot com slash 4580 dot html?thread=9780452#t9780452
the real title is "dovahkiin's briar heart". The other was just the beta title.

Hullo, Mod~!! Somehow I forgot to add my series tag Series:Buttered_Toast to this fill. Would you be a dear and add it on Delicious please? Thanks!!

I am a little confused with how to request a prompt. What's the specific link to go to? (The instuctions didn't help.)
I apologize if this is a little redundant, but I need very specific instructions

I am redoing this prompt can the old one be deleted please

(Anonymous) 2014-10-09 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)

The title will still be the same (I just am waiting for the new post to show up.)

Insults

(Anonymous) 2014-10-24 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen you respond to a few people on when they don't like something to bring it up for discussion with you. I have to ask, what is the policy on insults? And I don't mean when someone insults an author - thats not okay. I mean insults to characters.

Lemme go further: So, there's a few villainous characters within Skyrim. But anytime a harsh insult comes up towards them, its usually aimed at the women. Like Astrid or elenwen. How come its alright to call them a 'cunt' or 'bitch' or 'slut' with a pretty staple agreement across the board, but if you say Ulfric or Mercer is a prick the response is usually on how deep that makes them or giggling and 'yeah, but hes so hot !'. Why is it okay to call women the worst things? I guess I'm mostly just disturbed on the women bashing on the meme in contrast to the men who are treated like idols over it.

Thoughts mod?

Curious Anon is Curious.

What's the NaNoWriMo? Is that something you host or is that, like, a different KMeme?
