I really don't give a damn about you - F!DB/Vilkas
Date: 2012-10-30 02:18 pm (UTC)I want the F!DB to be madly in love with Vilkas, but since she's a little self-conscious she can only talk to Vilkas when she's insulting him.
I want him to be entirely clueless and slightly annoyed about the newblood, but I don't want him to either love her or hate her at the beginning. He just doesn't care.
If he finds out how she feels and what will happen then is entirely up to the A!A.
Surprise me! :)
Extra points if the DB is much younger than Vilkas (and thus self-conscious) and maybe a little star-struck when the great and famous Companions actually accept her. Maybe she doesn't even know yet that she's DB and only finds out during the story.

OH LAWD I might just have to make a fill. I won't promise anything, but if I have the time I will because I just love this prompt so much.

It had been scary, really, to think that she could have survived this long in Skyrim. There were crazy bandits everywhere, ferocious animals around the corners and lets not forget the big ass dragon that attacked her and Ralof while they were being held in Helgen not too long ago.
Thales has been residing in Whiterun for three months now, even working with a company of mercenaries who called themselves The Companions. Not that the seventeen year old was much help around with the quests she’s given, but she gets the job done and in a timely manner and apparently that’s all what’s needed to succeed here.
Kodlak, the important leader figure in the group let her in after talking to her and passing a test with one of the mercenaries, Vilkas. The young Imperial found the tall Nord very fascinating, alluring and annoying at the same time. He had spoken against her joining them, saying she wasn't worth the hassle.
Thales had been torn between staring into his intense, grey eyes or crawl to a corner and cry for the rest of the day. Of course she did neither. The fear in her eyes was not invisible to the Nord because not long after his comment the man sighted and proceeded to test her arm strength.
The girl had been questioned by him once both stood outside, immediately catching on to his point. She was after all a seventeen year old, small and weak looking Imperial, blond girl and that was something Thales understood. It didn’t make her feel any less insulted or disappointed that he thought she wasn’t worth it.
Thales decided to show him just how mature she was and how serious she takes herself, after all, she arrived in Skyrim because of accident and still made it this far.
At the end of their sparring, Thales had sported a big satisfactory smile while Vilkas’ sweat ran down his forehead. She might be small and looked weak, but she packed a good pair of arms and legs and that was something she was glad and thankful she had. It was how she has made it this far in this cold region.
Now she sat on a chair drinking water, staring at the man eating a sweet roll while he chatted with Aela quietly. Three months had not been enough to catch his attention, no matter how many quests she completed or how fast she did them. Her height was still a short five foot and one inch while everyone else in here stood five inches and up taller than her. Even her shield-sister Ria, the other Imperial who was out at the moment on a quest with Farkas, was much taller than her.
Thales had read in many books about Nords that they were big and tall, and maybe that’s what Vilkas preferred? Most men liked breasts and hips. Her chest was pretty normal for her age, you could say it was well developed, but clearly that was not a thing to be considered. Neither were her hips apparently.
The whole time she’s been here, Thales has never seen him with any woman at any time; morning, day or night. Doesn't even talk to anyone other than Kodlak, Aela and his twin brother Farkas. Unless he visits lovers when he’s out on a quest, he could be considered someone with absolutely no interests in meeting anyone for romantic purposes.
At this point there was a slight possibility that he might not even like women.
“Hey, whelp, me and Aela are going to go hunting, want join us?” Vilkas spoke to her from across the room and Thales spit out the sip she took, surprising Aela and Vilkas.
Smooth.

Date: 2012-11-08 04:16 am (UTC)She could show up her archery skills, not that she had any really, but Aela made it look like a piece of crostata. Surely it wasn't as hard as it looked. Thales had never lifted a sword in her life and still passed the Companion’s test with Vilkas. This was definitely her opportunity and she was not going to let it go to waste.
“Yes, I would like to!” Looking up, she was met with Skjor’s eyebrow raised as he stared at her questionably.
“They left about a minute ago.” Shaking his head, the man decided to go back to his business.
Thales drank the rest of her water in a hurry and ran out the hall to catch up to her shield-siblings.

Date: 2012-11-13 06:47 pm (UTC)Forgetting to grab her leather cover jacket on the way out to catch with Aela and Vilkas, the walk had been a chilly one. Both shield-siblings were walking along the snowy path as if it were noon on the coast of Cyrodiil while she freezed her butt off and rubbed her arms in a pathetic attempt to warm up.
Thales was walking behind Vilkas and he was walking a little behind Aela. From this angle, both looked so strong and invincible. It made her idea of infatuating Vilkas far-fetching. No wonder he didn’t even look at her twice, with such a tall, beautiful and fearless woman like Aela next to her.
Maybe he liked her and that’s why he doesn’t look at other woman.
Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted when her face ran into the hard and cold surface of Vilkas’ armor, making her bounce off and fall down on her butt. Her hands immediately pushed on her nose as she felt warm liquid run down after the impact.
“Are you okay, Thales?” Aela asked as she turned down to look at her.The blond was afraid to look up and embarrass herself further by letting Vilkas see her bloody nose. This was already starting to be a horrible day to try to impress the Nord. Standing up and pinching her nose, Thales turned around and rubbed her gloves on her face cleaning herself.
“I’m fine. Let’s continue.” She assured her shield-sister before turning back around to flinch at Vilkas’ frown.
“Not only are you clumsy, but you also don’t pay attention. We already arrived but all the noise you did when you fell probably announced our presence to the mammoths.”
Looking around, everything looked the same. Snow, snow, tree, more snow. But this time there were some stones with weird drawings on them.
Wait a minute.
“Ma-mammoths?” Her lips were trembling at this point. She’s seen those things. Huge, heavy, stinky and pretty much the scariest animal she’s encountered in Skyrim. Thales could perfectly pretend to faint from the pain on her nose but she didn’t know if that would make her look even more like a fool in front of Vilkas.
Jumping at the laugh that came from the man, she turned around blushing in embarrassment. Vilkas’ hand made it to her shoulder and sparks ran through her body as the weight and warmth of it made her feel safe for some reason. It was almost magical.
“You have no problem killing bandits and fetching items of people you don’t know in places you haven’t been to but a mammoth makes you tremble. You’re a very interesting girl, I’ll give you that.”
Trying her best to ignore the feelings Vilkas’ comment provoked in her, Thales and Aela prepared their bows as the raven haired man checked out the Giants that were around.
As the young Imperial grabbed her arrows, she noticed her hands wouldn’t stop shaking.
It was true, she has done many quests but she never faced any of them as a fearless warrior. Every time before she stepped into any cave or walked through any door, she would pray to the Divines to spare her soul and a few tears of fear would run down her cheeks. She was not a mercenary, she was definitely not a good sword wielder either. But truth be told, she needed the money to get out of Skyrim; she needed food to survive, money to rent rooms and get transportation while she kept traveling, looking for that something special she knows is calling to her.
Swallowing, the blond gripped her bow tightly as Vilkas gave Aela the sign that it was clear.
Here she goes and it won’t be pretty.

Date: 2012-11-13 06:48 pm (UTC)The sound of an arrow being shot gave her the permission to start shooting her poison coated arrows at the Giant that got startled by the mammoth’s cry of pain.
The surface of the rock was slippery with all the snow turned ice on it, Thales had to admit it was harder than it looked trying to aim at the Giant bouncing around while everything shaked and her feet kept sliding off the stone. The first arrow she shot at the Giant didn’t even got close to his coarse skin, but it distracted him from looking at Aela’s hiding place.
Two more arrows flew past her making the mammoth fall to the ground, paralyzed and weak. The Giant caught on to where the arrows hurting his mammoth were coming from and charged to the tree the red headed woman was hiding in.
Without thinking, Thales gave a step and her foot slid making her lose her balance. The Giant turned to her as she fell on the snowy ground. The color of her face drained as the ground shook with the Giant’s steps nearing her. Vilkas was too far away and Aela up on a tree, they were two Nords against a Giant who is furious. The pain, coming from her leg which was most likely broken, was almost non-existent as her life flashed before her eyes.
Her life growing up had been magnificent. She had been lucky to be born in a family with money and be able to have it all, but she would never regret leaving all that behind to pursue things money can’t buy. All the struggles she has faced since arriving in Skyrim and all the nice people she’s met along the way are always going to be precious memories to her. Everything that has happened, she knows, is part of that special something she is meant to do. Thales has always felt her life belonged outside the city she grew up in, and she was going to do everything on her power to travel the world and find her true home.
Too bad her story won't get passed this chapter.
The Giant’s mace swinged at her but hit the side of the rock she had been standing on, breaking it in many pieces of all sizes and weight. Thales felt the first one hit her shoulder making her cry in pain and the next one was on her head. Everything had gone black after that.

I'm thinking most chapters will be divided in two like they have been so far, and I'll keep it that way just because I'm OCD and thus all chapters shall be posted the same XD
Hope y'all enjoy!

Date: 2012-11-21 08:03 pm (UTC)When Thales opened her eyes, she recognized the wooden ceiling and the softness she was resting on. She was safe in Jorrvaskr. Or was she in a dream? Certainly she must have been hurt badly by the rocks falling on her.
Looking around, she noticed she was laying on Farkas’ bed, covered in very soft and warm furs. Her head felt tight and when she lifted her hand to check, she felt soft bandages around it. The rocks.
When she made the attempt to get off the bed, a jolt of sharp pain shot through her left leg making her yelp in pain. Pulling the furs up, she saw her leg heavily bandaged, her foot red and puffy. It pretty much looked like the nastiest wound she’s ever gotten.
Her thoughts immediately going back to what was going on. Obviously Vilkas and Aela had gotten her back to safety, but how were they? Did they get injured as well?
Trying to get off the bed once more, this time not hurting her already damaged leg, and hopped on one foot to the closed door. Opening it and looking out, she didn’t hear anyone out on the hallway making her wonder what time of the day it was. Turning her head forward, Vilkas’ doors were also closed.
Thales thought she should probably check if he was in there.
Hopping some more, the blond knocked on the door once as gently as she could and before she could knock again, the door swung open and she lost balance.
A strong arm caught her as Vilkas grunted in pain. The warmth his body radiated mixed with the smell of his skin made her feel lightheaded.
This was certainly something she was not expecting, although she’s noticed that the members of the Circle had a knack of knowing beforehand what’s going to happen. Thales wouldn’t be surprised if their werewolf blood gives them super hearing or some sort of ability.
Looking up, she smiled sheepishly at the Nord who in return looked at her pointedly. Thales couldn't help to notice he looked much friendlier without his heavy armor. He was wearing a loose long sleeve shirt and a pair of thick cotton pants.
“You just can’t go a day without somehow hurting someone with your clumsiness, can you?” Turning around, the Nord walked back to where he had been and sat at the table where Thales could see he was reading at.

Date: 2012-11-21 08:04 pm (UTC)“I was able to stop most of the rocks falling on you, but your leg wasn’t so lucky. You injured it when you fell off.” Using the injured hand, Vilkas turned a page on his book, reading on without paying much attention to her.
Even if her heart jumped when he told her he was the one who saved her from further danger, guilt overpowered her being. He was right, she was too clumsy and wasn’t careful around others. She could understand his lack of interest in her. Better yet, she could understand if he didn’t want to be too close to her.
“Thank you for saving me.” With no more said, she slowly turned around on the heel of her good foot and before she could hop back to her room, Vilkas tsked and stood up.
“Are you hungry, do you want anything to drink?” He asked as his good hand grabbed her forearm and pulled her to him off the wall she was holding herself steady with.
Thales was caught completely off guard, her mouth not moving, her mind in a daze as he walked her to his brother’s bed. At the thought of Farkas, her mind completely cleared.
“Is Farkas back from the quest? Is it okay with him for me to be in his bedroom?” She asked while attempting to sit on the bed gracefully but failing by a long shot as she bounced. Looking up at Vilkas, she couldn’t help but blush. He looked so handsome from where he was standing looking down at her.
“Don’t answer a question with a question, whelp.” Vilkas crossed his arms and stared at her, somehow he seemed very uninterested and it confused Thales. “Yes, he’s back. He was the one who suggested for you to rest here.”
“Oh.” Looking down at her leg, Thales smiled at the thought of Farkas giving up his room for her. He was such a gentleman, such a great friend and probably the only friendly shield-sibling she had besides Aela and Ria.
Grunting, Vilkas started to walk away. “Since you don’t seem to need anything, you should sleep and rest your leg. It’s already inconvenient that both you and I are off the qualified Companions to take up quests.” With a nod, she let Vilkas walk out and closed the door behind him.
Laying back on the bed, her heart wouldn’t stop pounding in her chest. He had touched her and helped her back to her room, and it had felt so magical. His strong arms felt so warm and inviting... And he didn’t look as angry as she thought he might, after learning that he jumped in to prevent more injuries on her.

Date: 2013-07-21 09:54 pm (UTC)Heads Will Roll [4/?]
Date: 2013-07-26 02:18 am (UTC)Sighting, the Imperial closed her eyes and suddenly she did feel tired, much more tired than the times she comes back from a long quest. Her head was starting to ache, and now that the adrenaline from being close to Vilkas is leaving her body, she could feel her shoulder aching and her leg pounding. It’s horrible.
A sudden knock startled her, and her heart started to pound again at the thought of it being Vilkas. Unfortunately for her, Farkas was the one at her door, but that didn’t make her feel any less excited. They were good friends after all.
“How are you feeling?” He asked, walking in and sitting at the end of the bed. He looked tired but his hair was damp and his face clean and she guessed he had taken a bath. He was also missing his armor and instead wore his long sleeve shirt and everyday pants. Unlike Vilkas, Farkas didn’t look less intimidating without his armor or weapon at his back.
“I’m alive and I’m not missing any limbs, so I’m pretty well off.” He smiled at her as she let out a little laugh. “Thank you for letting me borrow your room. You know you can kick me out whenever you want.”
“Nah, no worries. You’re staying in here as long as you need, that way no one bothers you.” Shaking her head, the blonde smiled at the older man. He was too sweet! Why, oh why can’t Vilkas be just as sweet? I guess it wouldn’t make him as endearing without his scowl and snarky attitude. Kodlak had told her he was much different deep inside and she was still waiting for the day she sees this other side of him.
“You know, I’m glad you’re so much different than your brother. He always seems to be in a bad mood.” With a giggle, Thales yawned and Farkas stood up to leave.
“See you in the morning.” After he walked out, Thales closed her eyes and dreamt of dead bodies laying around her, blood everywhere and a menacing black dragon spitting fire at her.
CONTINUATION Heads Will Roll [4/?]
Date: 2013-07-26 02:18 am (UTC)Days went by and the short Imperial couldn’t wish for her leg to heal faster. Vilkas was back in the front lines taking up quests, easy ones so his hand didn’t suffer further damage, but he was out in the field enjoying the fresh, cool air and the cozy sun of Skyrim.
Groaning, Thales stood up and tried walking on her bad leg, reaching for the door. Before she could get close, it opened and she got pushed back onto the floor.
Lately, she always ends up on her butt on the floor.
“Well, aren’t you a graceless one.” Helping her up as she laughed at her own joke, Thales rolled her eyes and hit her on the arm. “Don’t act like it’s not true.”
“I swear, you’re more of a bully to me than Vilkas.” The blond smiled at Aela and let her in the room.
There was a heavy feeling on the air, and Thales knew why Aela was here. Right after she had been put in bed, Aela and Skjor left to fight the Silver Hand and somehow they were able to kill Skjor. He had gone without a shield-sibling.
Two days before the giant incident, Thales had been called to the Underforge by Skjor and Aela. They had told her it was her time to receive the ultimate gift, but scared out of her mind the Imperial refused to do it, leaving them and asking them to not bring it up a second time. She didn’t want to become a werewolf, nor did she want to suffer from the urges Farkas had explained to her werewolfs had.
Skjor had left to fight the Silver Hand the day her, Aela and Vilkas left to hunt the mammoths. It was part of the distraction so Kodlak wouldn’t ask questions nor suspect anything.
“Maybe if I had accepted and drunk the blood...” Her eyes filled with tears as Aela sat on the bed with one of the most broken hearted expression she’s ever seen on her.
“Don’t blame yourself, this is no one's fault but his. He shouldn’t have gone without a shield-sibling.” The redhead stood up and touched the dagger hanging from her belt.
“What are you thinking?” The Imperial asked, voice low and scared. The shine in the redhead’s eyes made her shiver.
“We’re going to get our revenge and I want you to help me.”
