I always keep a close eye on Ulfric prompts, because I want to write him too, but so far I haven't worked out how. You're right in that Dyce has changed a lot; originally my idea was to have Dyce sign up for the Stormcloaks a) after a bit of serious persuading and b) Ulfric trading his arse.

As much as it would be fun to see Ulfric get on his knees (and as plausible as I think it would be that he'd do it for the cause,) Dyce isn't that guy anymore. He wouldn't make his help conditional on sex - if Ulfric managed to persuade him, he'd do what he thinks is right. But I'm not sure what takes the place of that. Dyce only goes to war very, very reluctantly, and after the end of the Main Quest as well - so by then he knows all there is to know about the Thalmor and Ulfric. By that point, however reluctantly, Dyce is a political operator a well.

Ulfric's hard to write too. For the longest time I couldn't understand why fandom liked him because I didn't; he struck me as a politician through and through, with plenty of ideas I didn't like. Now my opinion's a bit more nuanced, but I still don't have a handle on him entirely.

Ulfric is seriously hard to write. That's why I'm in awe of those who can sucessfully. He's this crazy difficult balance of lore, villian, hero, politican, warrior and victim. And too much of any of those traits and he falls like a house of cards.

But if you can get it, he's got a great story voice. And I do believe you can get him, because it's not that far from Trip. They share the victim, warrior, hero, and lore. You need to find the villian & Politican, and hell, Dyce can carry that.

Plus, Dyce and him have some unquie elements that they share; The greybeards, which Dyce hasn't said much about, and the Voice. I'd be interested in just a conversation between Dyce nad Ulfric over the voice. No sex needed.

But sex would probably happen, because a: they're both very sexual people and b: they both use sex as a tool. (It may not be explicitly cannon, but you know Ulfric does.)

And I'd love to see them do some processing over the Thalmor. You've spent a good bit of time developing the Daedra angle, what can you do with power-hungery elves?

It's a request. Nothing more. it speaks to you or it doesn't. But I think you would do something amazing with it.

Disclosure: I freely admit I don't have Ulfric's voice. I've written him, but I had to age him and marry him off first before I could get any traction. I've got other stuff in the works with him, but, yeah, hard!

And you know how to reach me if you want to chat about this. ;-)
