THALES ~ 12c
(Anonymous) 2014-03-03 04:23 am (UTC)(link)Sapphire, Ralof and Farkas were starting to get deep into whatever conversation they were having, so Thales took the opportunity to push her chair back and mumble that she needed to relieve herself. Instead of walking towards the private room, she decided to go down the stairs and hide in her and Sapphire’s room. She didn’t noticed Vilkas was following her until she reached for the knob of the door.
Before she could say anything to him, she felt him get closer then his hand touch her back. “You’re injured.” Not a question, and she wasn’t surprised at his deducting skills. They have, after all, battled alongside and tended to each other’s wounds many times. Or at least the times he would allow her to.
Not knowing what to say, she replied “I just want to rest, Vilkas. I’m tired.”
Silence followed as she opened the door and walked towards the nice and comfortable bed. The door was left open purposely; not knowing how to act around him didn’t mean she didn’t want him around. It’s stupid, this silly adoration for him will get her hurt—no, killed. It already hurt her.
“I just want to talk.” He does. Of course he does. He might not know exactly what he’s going to say to her but will tell her, unlike her who knows exactly what she should say to him but won’t. “I miss you.” He breathes.
Divines, why is he doing this to her? It’s not fair.
Her lip trembled a little as she stood by the bed with her back to him. She heard the door click shut, but he didn’t move from where he was. “I miss you too.” His strong arms wrap around her torso as if he had been waiting for her answer. He probably had. Sweet Vilkas, always cautious with his actions.
“I’m here for you.” He rested his chin on the top of her head and sighed.
So Brynjolf took it upon his hands to explain to Vilkas what the hell she was doing here. Good, one thing she won’t have to explain. But her stomach still sunk at the thought of everything else she does. Closing her eyes, Thales decided to push that back for a minute and instead relish in the feeling of his strong arms. She frowned.
“Take your damn armor off if you’re going to hug me.”
With a chuckle, he (reluctantly) let go of her to remove said armor, putting it against the wall before returning to their previous position. This time her facing him. “Does this mean you forgive me for being such an idiot?”
“Depends on which time you’re talking about.”
“I see your sense of humour hasn’t left you.” No, but he did, he left her. But there’s no point in bringing that up, he has always been forgiven.
“I never held it against you, Vilkas.” She loves saying his name.
“Thank you.” He lowered his head slightly in order to kiss her forehead, then her temple, then her ear.
As warm and loving as this is, Thales knows soon enough she will have to face her mistake of keeping everything in and be honest with him.
