Parallels

Alduin's not exactly a sympathetic character, but I always found the part of the game after you return from Sovngarde - when Paarthurnax is mourning him - to be oddly emotional. This part:

"Happy? No, I am not happy...Alduin was once the crown of our father Akatosh's creation. You did what was necessary. Alduin had flown far from the path of right action in his pahlok - the arrogance of his power. But I cannot celebrate his fall. He was my brother once. The world will never be the same."

So here's my prompt: Nord Dragonborn has a lot of sympathy for the Stormcloak cause, but ultimately sides with the Legion. Then DB either (1)slays Alduin and is baffled by Paarthurnax's outlook, right up until he/she has to kill Ulfric, or (2)finishes the Civil War before killing Alduin, and returns to commiserate with Paarthurnax about brilliant, gifted people who wasted themselves in the pursuit of power.

*Bonus: include Rikke in any way and I'll love you forever.

This is VERY much like my DB. She went with Ralof during the escape from Helgen, worships Talos and DESPISES the Thalmor (kills them any chance she gets). But she joined with the Imperials because she could not stand the racism of many of the Stormcloaks, believed that Ulfric was wrong to use his Thu'um like he did in pursuit of power, no matter the rightness of his cause; knew that Ulfric was playing right into the hands of the very elves he despised by starting this damned war, and took her title of Thane of Whiterun very seriously and would not stand for Ulfric and his forces attacking her home (in fact, when one of those flaming rocks launched from the Stormcloak catapults hit Breezehome during the siege, I was like "oh, it is ON now!").
