ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017
Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.
I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.
The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3

Date: 2015-08-08 07:59 pm (UTC)He would be lying to himself if he said he hadn’t enjoyed bedding Elisif. She had experience, that much was sure, and it had admittedly been quite some time since he had been with a woman. Despite his reluctance, he had at least been able to forget about it for a little while. But now he was back on the road, and he had come to his senses again.
Tomas deserved better, that much was for sure. Even with the necessity of what he had done, he had broken his lover’s trust, and he could feel his heart aching dully. He loved Tomas, and he knew the Bosmer deserved his honesty, but he also wasn’t the most rational of elves sometimes. He wasn’t sure what the truth would do to them, nor was he certain that Tomas would understand his reasoning. But what kind of man would he be if he lied to him about something so important? How would it seem if the news came up later, and the one he loved realized that he hadn’t been true?
Ulfric sighed again, sitting up straight as Windhelm’s walls appeared in the carriage’s sight. Nothing he said could soften this blow, but he knew what he had to do.
Tomas looked as happy as ever to see him, and the smile on his face made Ulfric’s heart catch in his throat. He beamed, pulling the king into Hjerim and planting a kiss on his lips.
“Welcome home,” he said lightly, wrapping his arms around the Nord’s waist. “You didn’t tell me that you were leaving. I went to visit you, and Galmar said you had gone to Solitude on urgent business.” His smile faded, and he tilted his head to take a closer look at Ulfric. “Is everything okay?”
“Let’s sit down,” Ulfric replied, motioning at the nearby table. Tomas’ face paled, but he complied, and the two sat a safe distance apart. “Apparently Rolff made it to Solitude. He told Elisif that you and I share a bed.”
“How does he know that?”
“I don’t know. I don’t think he does,” the Nord explained, shaking his head. “He was angry when I didn’t punish you for hurting him. But Elisif knows, and we…we had to do something.” The Bosmer’s shoulders slumped, and he looked up at his lover, his heart sinking.
“You slept with her.”
“I did.” Ulfric reached for his hand, which was limp on the bench. “I’m sorry, Tomas…I wanted to be honest with you from the beginning, so you knew—”
“I appreciate that,” Tomas replied bluntly, rising to his feet. His knees were shaking, and his eyes were pointedly looking at anywhere except his king. “Now get out of my house, please.”
When Stenvar made his way down to the bar for a fresh bottle, he was surprised to see his old friend there, shoving septims across the counter and stuffing a bag with as much food as he could fit inside. Elda stood nervously on the other side, taking the payment as graciously as she could.
“Tomas,” the sellsword called, moving to his side. When he was close enough, he could see that the elf’s cheeks were streaked with dry tears, and he took a step back.
“Hello, Stenvar,” Tomas replied weakly, forcing a smile. “I was just getting ready to head out. Do you want to come along?”
“Maybe,” Stenvar said, motioning for him to follow him to one of the rooms. “I want to make sure you’re okay first.” Once they were alone, the elf allowed a few tears to fall, and smiled to keep his sobs back.
“You’re a good man, Stenvar,” he remarked, taking a seat on the bed. “People like you are getting harder to come by.” The Nord smiled wryly, sitting down beside him.
“Where are you going?”
“I don’t know. Just on an adventure, I suppose.” Tomas sighed, leaning forward on his knees. “I don’t want to be here anymore.” Stenvar nodded sympathetically, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
“I’ll gladly come along and keep you out of danger, if you want me to. I think you need a friend right now, Tomas.” The Bosmer sat up again, his smile more genuine now that his tears were subsiding. He glanced over at the closed door, then returned his gaze more shyly.
“I do,” he agreed, leaning in for a kiss, “but for tonight, I need a little more than that.” Stenvar’s eyes widened with surprise, but his hand quickly strayed to the small of Tomas’ back.
He could be this, too.

Date: 2015-08-08 08:36 pm (UTC)Jorleif had quickly retreated to Wuunferth’s office, where he knew he would be safe, and the guards of the palace silently willed themselves not to run. They could hear Ulfric trashing the war room, more enraged than he had been in months, and couldn’t help but feel fear coursing through their bodies. When the king stormed out into the main room, they both flinched despite their best efforts.
“You two!” Ulfric shouted, pointing wildly at them. “Arrest Rolff Stone-Fist immediately on charges of slander and treason! Get him in a jail cell as far into the ground as you can, and tell him I’ll deal with him soon!”
“Yes, sir!” The guards hurried from the palace, leaving Ulfric to pick up a full platter and hurl it across the room. He had woken to the news that Tomas had skipped town once again, with the sellsword from the inn in tow, and there was no suppressing the rage this time around. He had lost the love of his life again, and any grief he felt had melted into a fire that burned his blood.
If he hadn’t been such a damn fool, he could have avoided this entire mess. He stormed back to his quarters, only slightly satisfied by the sound of the door slamming behind him. If he tried to make any royal decisions today, he would almost certainly end up having someone executed. He didn’t want that.
He had cooled down by the time Galmar burst into his quarters. The older Nord, on the other hand, was furious, and stood imposingly in the doorway.
“You arrested my brother?!” he asked, storming forward as the king looked up from his book. Ulfric’s eyes narrowed, and he nodded.
“Your brother is a criminal,” he confirmed, “and deserves the cell he’s sitting in right now.”
“What he did wasn’t slander or treason!” Galmar argued, slamming his fist on the table. “He told Elisif the truth, and you had him thrown in jail! What’s the matter with you, boy?!”
“I’m no boy!” Ulfric argued, rising to his feet. “I’m your king—”
“Don’t you dare give me that, or I’ll be the one breaking noses this time,” Galmar interrupted him, his eyes flashing. “You have lost your damn mind over Tomas, and I am tired of dealing with you running around and doing wrong by him. Either you love him or you don’t, but stop making everybody suffer because you don’t know what you want. You’re being selfish, and I know that isn’t you.” He softened slightly, shaking his head bitterly. “It’s time for you to figure this out once and for all, Ulfric. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had, but you’re getting dangerously close to losing your housecarl. Keep that in mind.” With that, he stalked out of the room, leaving the king of Skyrim to sit in stunned silence.
This entire time, he had thought that the decision was impossible to make. Nothing in his life had been as easy as a yes or a no. But Galmar had never threatened to leave before, and the prospect of losing his best friend was more frightening than anything he had ever faced.
He took a seat on the bed, closing his eyes. Truly, with everything they had gone through together, it was amazing that Galmar had even stayed by his side this long. The same was true of Tomas, now that he thought about it. He wondered when he had stopped appreciating just how loyal the people in his life were.
Ulfric stood abruptly and hurried to the door. Another helmeted guard stood a few feet down the hall, and bowed politely at the sight of his king.
“Your Majesty.”
“Hello. Can you release Rolff Stone-Fist from his cell?” Ulfric asked, leaning against the doorframe. “Let him know that I apologize profusely for the inconvenience, and that I’ll compensate him when I return from Solitude.” The guard nodded his understanding and headed back to the main palace, leaving Ulfric to pack the bag that still lay on the floor from his last trip.

Date: 2015-08-09 03:39 pm (UTC)However, he was caught off guard by Elisif’s surprised expression. She rose to her feet quickly, glancing around at her court.
“Ulfric,” she said anxiously, leading him to her bedroom as always. “I didn’t expect to see you here so soon. I only sent the letter yesterday.” Once they were speaking privately, she allowed herself a small, sad smile. “I suppose the couriers have less trouble on the roads now that the war is over.” Ulfric blinked, eying his wife curiously.
“Letter?” he asked. “Did something happen? I was here recently.” Elisif’s smile faded, and she clapped a hand over her mouth.
“You…didn’t get the letter?” she asked, her eyes widening. “Oh, gods…that’s embarrassing. What brings you here, then?”
“Explain this letter to me first,” Ulfric ordered, crossing his arms. “What happened?” Elisif bit her lip, then motioned for him to join her on the bed.
“I suppose if you’re here, it would be better for me to explain in person,” she sighed. “It seems uncouth of me to do this so soon after we shared a bed, and I hope you know that my decision has nothing to do with that. I’ve…been consulting a variety of people about this for quite some time.” When Ulfric remained silent, she cleared her throat and looked up bravely at him. “I want to dissolve our marriage. I’ve been…involved with somebody else, and I love him. It’s as simple as that.” Despite it all, this announcement came as a slap in the face, and Ulfric took a moment to catch his breath before speaking up again.
“I…don’t think a king and queen have ever ended their marriage before,” he finally choked out. Elisif shrugged, folding her hands in her lap.
“I’ve done some reading,” she replied. “It’s rare, but not impossible. Normally some kind of contention over the throne would break out, but…I’m willing to give up the throne if it means I can finally be happy.” Ulfric sat in stunned silence, trembling slightly.
“…Who?” he asked. “Who’s worth losing the throne for?” Elisif kept her eyes down as she replied.
“Bolgeir,” she said simply. Now Ulfric frowned.
“Your housecarl?”
“We’ve been together for quite some time…long before I married you. I suppose our relationship never really ended, with how little time you spend here.” She looked up again, her face slightly pale. “If you agree to sign the documents, you’ll be sole king of Skyrim. My forces will give you no more trouble. You have my word.”
“I don’t understand,” Ulfric sighed, leaning back on his hands. “All this trouble for you to keep your power, and you throw it away for your housecarl.” The now former queen smiled genuinely now, placing a hand on his.
“It’s far past time that we start valuing our own happiness. It’s often a sacrifice we have to make when we lead, but I…would rather just lead Solitude and myself.” She sighed, shaking her head. “I’ve thought about this for a long time, Ulfric. It was a hard decision, but…this is what I want.”
“I understand.” Ulfric rose from the bed and took up a nearby quill. “Show me where to sign, then.”
He walked back to the carriage in silence, his face stony and the wind whipping up his cape as he walked. He had a feeling he wouldn’t see Solitude in quite some time, and he was fine with that. He had always felt like a stranger there. The reality of the documents he had just signed was settling in, but he still wasn’t sure what to make of it. It hurt and relieved him, he cared and he didn’t. He didn’t love Elisif, but he would miss her. He was happy to rule Skyrim alone, but he felt as though he couldn’t.
He would have to take it one day at a time from now on.
“Take me home,” he said wearily, pulling himself into the carriage. He was suddenly exhausted, and Windhelm felt very far away.

Date: 2015-08-09 04:15 pm (UTC)“Where are we going next?” he asked, leaning back on the table to look up at his Bosmer friend. Tomas procured a map from his bag and placed it on the table, motioning at a cavern marked a few miles from the city.
“We’re going to take out a camp of trolls,” he explained. “They’ve been causing trouble for the people here, and there’s a pretty hefty bounty out against them.” He grinned, taking a seat besides his Nordic companion. “That’s why we’re resting up. Trolls are hard to fight.”
“That’s a bit of an understatement,” Stenvar joked, clapping a hand on the elf’s back. “I’m looking forward to it. Should be a good challenge.” Before he could say more, the door swung open, revealing a windswept courier who shook the snow out of his hair as he hurried over to Thoring. As the courier took a seat at the bar, the innkeeper offered him a bottle with one hand and used his other to open the message.
“By the gods,” he exclaimed, his eyebrows shooting up. At the courier’s side, Frida looked up, while Tomas and Stenvar did their best to listen in.
“Is everything well, Thoring?” the alchemist asked, leaning on the counter. Thoring moved to show her the letter.
“The king and queen ended their marriage,” he explained. Tomas’ eyes widened, and he rose to his feet, startling Stenvar in the process. “I didn’t know that was even a possibility.”
“It usually isn’t,” Frida agreed, squinting at the parchment. “Gods, I hope this doesn’t lead to another war. That’s the last thing Skyrim needs.” She looked over at the courier, who was observing the conversation silently. “Do you know anything more about this?”
“Only what’s written there,” he replied apologetically. “There have been a lot of questions in every city I’ve been to, but I don’t know any more than you do.” Any more of the conversation remained unknown to Tomas, who abruptly retreated to his room. Stenvar sighed, finished his rabbit meat, and went to join him.
When he entered the room, the elf was on his back in the bed, gazing forlornly at the ceiling. Stenvar shed his boots and climbed in beside him, hoping to comfort him the best he could.
“I didn’t know the end of that marriage would matter to you,” he said, studying Tomas curiously. “Is it that you don’t want to go back to war?”
“That’s as good a reason as any,” Tomas admitted, nodding. “It’d be terrible if we started fighting again. We haven’t been at peace for very long.” Stenvar eyed him sympathetically, suddenly very in tune with his long-time friend.
“But that isn’t the problem.” It was more of a statement than a question, which made it all the easier for Tomas to nod.
“You have the right to know by now,” he sighed. “The king and I…well. King Ulfric is my lover. We’ve been in love for quite some time.”
“I see.” In truth, Stenvar had suspected that their little encounter in Windhelm had been an act of desperation and lust, and hadn’t thought much of it as they moved on in the morning. “Did Elisif know?”
“She did,” Tomas replied, shaking his head. “I worry that this is my fault.”
“Why? They’re adults, they can make their own decisions.” The Nord gave his friend’s hand a reassuring squeeze, and looked at him firmly. “Anything that happens is not your fault. You have to know that. He’s the king of Skyrim, his decisions fall on his own shoulders. Do you understand?” Tomas looked surprised, but smiled weakly all the same.
“I understand,” he replied, returning his gaze to the ceiling. Stenvar did the same, smiling a bit for his friend.
“Let’s get some rest,” he said. “When we’re done with those trolls, I think it’s far past time you returned to Windhelm.” Tomas’ smile broadened, and his heart jumped at the thought, but all he managed was another silent nod.
