Meme Announcements!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017
Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.
I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.
The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3
Re: Fire and Potions - Author's Note
Date: 2015-12-21 09:14 am (UTC)I held off on reading the last third of this story until this week. Lost my mental Skyrim mode for a while, plus RL often got in the way... I didn't want to finish it until I got back into the zone, y'know? =P
That being said...
GUH. *_*
I have no words. ;_;
Just happy noises. ='D
And emoticons. XD;;
I can't go into detail about your fanfic novel, or else this comment will become a rambling, hot mess of an essay. So do you mind if I focus on your thoughtful author's note instead?
Congratulations on finishing this work and for sticking with it for a year! Despite NaNoWriMo-like writing projects I've given myself, I've never written a full, novel-length story from beginning to end. I have some fanfiction posted online, but each story is a short (3,500 words at most, I think) one-shot. I've started multi-chapter ideas, but I've never finished them. I can't imagine starting a big project like this and posting it as I write it. That's brave. Do you see readers cheering you on as motivation? I kinda see it as intimidating. If you can view R&R/C&C as encouragement, I think that's a good sign.
As for the other Skyrim series writers you mentioned, I look up to them, too! I especially respect the creator of Calmerion. I was kinda new to the fandom side of Skyrim when I first posted a prompt here, and that person not only filled it but completely blew me away with the story. I wondered *briefly* if Therion was somehow a nod to Calmerion, haha, but then you fleshed out his character so beautifully that I soon saw him as a BAMF, Thalmor-hating, Altmer Dragonborn in his own distinct right.
And lastly -- as this comment has gotten rather long, ack -- your husband sounds freakin' awesome. XD He deserves cookies. Maybe cake. Maybe more bribes to stay on as your editor forever.
Thank you so much for writing and sharing 'Fire and Potions.' This is one helluva story, and I've greatly enjoyed reading it.
