ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017
Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.
I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.
The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3
The Soldier and the Magpie 2/?
Date: 2013-02-04 06:21 pm (UTC)"Um... no, but there's a girl in Dragon Bridge..."
"Is it serious?"
"Yes. No. I don't know. I care about her, certainly, but it... it's hard for a soldier."
"All that traveling, I can imagine. Well, I hope it works out for you. You're awfully kind, you should have nice girl."
"And you? I assume you're not married, if you're traveling alone."
Maggie laughed. "No, I'm not married. Never was the type. I get too restless."
"So, no young man, then, either."
She shook her head and smiled shyly. "It's a shame you're taken."
"Oh?"
She giggled. "Well, you're handsome, and you're sweet, and you stopped to help me even though you clearly have more important things to do. And you've let me talk your ear off for over an hour. In my book that makes you a keeper."
Gaius couldn't fight his spine straightening out of ego. The young woman was very pretty, with her flaming red hair billowing in the breeze and her bright blue eyes, even through the bruises and cuts on her face, and he found it suddenly difficult to ignore her breast brushing against his arm as they walked.
He also felt a little ashamed of his attraction to her. Soldiers had just done Divines know what to her, and here he was, wondering how it would feel to run his thumb along her bottom lip. And then, of course, there was Faida to think of.
"What's wrong, Gaius? You look troubled."
He forced a smile. "Just thinking about my orders," he lied.
"Oh." She sounded disappointed, and he felt bad.
"I'm sorry, that was rude of me. You just said something very sweet and I-"
"No, it's alright, Gaius. I shouldn't have said anything. It was very forward of me."
"No, it wasn't. It was kind, and I... Thank you. It was nice to hear."
Before too long they had passed through the city gates and went into the Winking Skeever, where Gaius gave some gold to the innkeeper for a room. As he pulled out a few more coins, Maggie touched his arm.
"I know you've got your orders, and you're probably sick of talking to me, but, at the risk of sounding forward again-"
"I told you, you weren't being forward."
"Well. I just wondered... would you have dinner with me tonight? I'd like not to be alone just yet."
Gaius ground his teeth, thinking. As he opened his mouth to speak, she shook her head.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked. Don't worry about me."
"No," he said quickly. "I just have to check in at the castle, but then I'll be back."
"No, it's okay. You're busy. I'll be fine."
"Nonsense," he said firmly. "Make sure your room is to your liking, and I'll be back to eat with you once I've checked in and you've had a chance to wash up. I'll make sure to bring you a change of clothes."
"Don't worry about the clothes," she said, drawing his cloak tighter around her body. "I'm sure I can find something. You're sure you can spare the time?"
He smiled. "I'll make sure I can. Just worry about yourself."
Maggie smiled back. "Alright, then. Thank you, Gaius," she said and turned to follow the innkeeper up to her room.
