ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017

Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.

I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.

The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! He didn’t wake until noon and was pleased to see that the wrath of the Thalmor had yet to extend outside of Haafingar. He didn’t bother with breakfast, not wanting to lose any more time but also unwilling to suffer the silent scorn of the innkeeper while he trifled with the innkeeper’s son.

The air was muggy and the sky was overcast, bloated with clouds. Bugs congregated in thick swarms and Audric’s tongue felt heavy and dry in his mouth. He met few travelers on the road, but he wished now that he’d followed Etienne the night before, so that the time might have passed unnoticed.

His thoughts turned to Ulfric. Not Ulfric Stormcloak, not the deposed Jarl of Windhelm, but Ulfric who had done his dishes in a fit of agitation. For the first time, he thought of Ulfric not as a fixture, but as a man. He remembered Ulfric showing his age in his words, rather than on his face. It was difficult not to remember the refined way in which he carried himself in spite of his plain, unassuming garb. It wasn’t about power or station for him, as so many were quick to presume; eminence, for what it was worth, was in Ulfric’s blood, unreliant on external trivialities like clothes or court or the like.

A king is a king is a king, Audric sighed to himself.

I want OP and everyone else reading to know that I'm immensely pleased that you're enjoying this. I have a lot of fun writing the characters, and it's nice to know I might be getting them right. And last but far from least, thanks so much for being patient with me as I slowly chip away at this story.

Sooo excited to see more of this! With Ulfric POV, too, and the plot getting thicker by the minute. As soon as you mentioned that Audric was going to Solitude on a dangerous mission I wondered if he was going to go into the Embassy and encounter that dossier.

I've been a bit behind with the meme, so I read your entire story in one go. You're a good writer, and I like the depth you're giving to the characters. Washing the dishes, indeed!

I also like stories which go outside of what is possible in the game, and particularly fix-it stories. There's no reason for Ulfric to be killed except that it's what the (bloodthirsty?) storywriters at Bethesda decided. So while I'm thanking you for your writing, I should also thank the OP for this prompt.

It did take Ulfric's comment of "Six hours?" and Audric's flush before I was certain that he'd been doing more with Brynjolf than simply drinking and catching up. As a great lover of slash I would like to see something a bit more overt. If you're not comfortable with writing explicit scenes, then perhaps you could include some cuddling or kissing? Though it doesn't even need to be sexual as such - just a longing glance or teasing pose, or thoughts in one of the characters' heads.

I shall be waiting impatiently for an update!

Wow first of all thank you so much for your lovely feedback!

I'm also quite pleased to have found this prompt. Fun fact: I initially sided with the Empire but after I finished the whole civil war story I felt irrationally bad about it.

I actually adore writing explicit scenes but the prompt focused on m!db with Ulfric so I figured I'd curb the details on Audric's other affairs. If OP doesn't actually mind, then I'd be happy to write those out as well (we certainly haven't seen the last of Brynjolf, to say the least...).
