ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017
Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.
I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.
The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3

Date: 2013-09-30 12:12 pm (UTC)Yes, he had attacked a little girl. Yes, he had seriously injured her. Yes, he had even broken Braith's arm. And he admitted that things might have ended badly if the guards hadn't intervened in time.
But there had been a valid and very important reason why he had to do all that.
Braith is not Runa’s friend. She was picking on her.”, Serano snorted.
He used to like Braith’s attitude, the way she forced other people to do whatever she wanted. This kind of lifestyle didn’t tend to get one a lot of friends – he should know – but for some reason he found it strangely endearing.
So some part of him had been glad to see that his adoptive daughter got along well with her when he had seen them playing together earlier. He had been less happy when Braith had wanted to play tag even though Runa didn’t want to; the damn Redguard girl had even shouted at his daughter. And then Braith had suddenly started calling Runa names, and when she had even made a move as if to pull Runa’s hair, Serano had discovered a protective streak in himself.
How could anyone expect him to just stand there and watch his little girl get hurt? Of course he had acted; he had crossed the street separating them, pulled Runa out of harm's way and then proceeded to knock Braith's teeth out.
He was convinced that had been a very fatherly thing to do.
"I taught her a lesson, that’s all”, he explained his actions.
"They are both nine years old, Serano, it was just a quarrel between children.”
The altmer just shrugged.
He rarely fought anything that couldn’t rip his head off with its bare hands, and he hadn’t even thought about trying to hold back. He hadn't drawn his weapon nor called on his magic, hadn't even worn heavy gauntlets; but that didn't stop the ensuing brawl from turning one-sided within seconds. Braith had fought back, or tried to, anyway; her determination had been admiring.
He had given her a good beating, probably broken her nose while he was at it, and for the first time he had the blood of a little girl on his hands. But Braith would be alright. Depending on Danica’s skills as a healer her face might not look as appealing as before, but otherwise there should be no lasting damage.
If the guards hadn’t interfered he would probably have done much worse. The men’s swords at his throat had only been lowered after he’d reminded them that he was the Jarl’s newest Thane. But because of that very real threat to his own wellbeing he had stopped his assault - that, and the fact that his daughter had started crying when he had crushed Braith’s arm had unnerved him somewhat.
He had never seen her this upset. Admittedly, he hadn't seen her that much at all yet and didn't know anything about her; but he couldn't get the sight of his trembling little girl out of his mind: The tears in her eyes, the way she had fisted her delicate hands into her dirty dress in front of her chest, that special trembling that told him that every nerve in her body screamed at her to run away even though she was too scared to move a muscle. That sight had been enough to quell his anger.
Runa had been terribly afraid, even though Serano had no idea why she would be. He had been there to protect her, after all.
"All that matters is that she won't mess with our girl again", Serano declared.
And there was no reason for Romlyn to look at him as if he had hit their own daughter instead of some evil bully.
"You don't get it, do you? Runa is scared of you, Serano, scared of her own father."
He had to laugh at that. Now that was just ridiculous.
"Runa isn't that skittish. She took it fairly well when I murdered the evil old hag at the orphanage, after all."
Romlyn begged to differ.
"She seriously thought you were going to kill her and friends. I think you ought to talk to her. She is in her room."
If it had been anyone else standing in front of him, Serano wouldn't even have bothered engaging in this conversation. But he had grown to like this man enough to indulge his strange whims from time to time.
"Just remind her that you care for her, that you would never hurt her. Promise her it won’t happen again.”
