ANNOUNCEMENTS: UPDATED 12/16/2017

Happy Holidays, fellow Kinkmemers! I have returned and have no reasonable excuse for my absence except LIFE. I will be working on updating the archives. If anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know.

I am also hoping to find another Mod and an Archivist.

The more dedicated people we have in this Meme the less chance of it dying. I admit that being the sole keeper of the Meme is not great for the fandom. If something were to happen to me, for good, this place would go the way of the Fallout Kink Meme. Let's not let that happen! If anyone would be interested in Modding/Archiving, please drop me a line. Thanks! <3

Sleepless - Part 100a/?

Later that night there was a knock at the door. The High Rock guard were there to pick up the books. While they were being brought out Ariella stood outside speaking with one of the guards. Vilkas helped move some of the boxes catching only snippets of friendly conversation.

When the last of the boxes were brought outside Vilkas began loading the ones that had been checked onto a cart. Admittedly he didn’t need to be helping but he was curious about what Ariella was talking about; it was pretty pathetic.

They mostly just talked about High Rock, he heard names that Ariella had never previously mentioned, places he knew nothing about and Vilkas realised how little he knew about Ariella and where she was from.

“There seems to be an extra crate.” The guard in charge of counting called out. Ariella stopped her conversation and laughed.

“Oh that’s right, could you deliver that?”

“Where’s it going?” The guard she had been talking to asked. He was clearly the man in charge,

“I think you know where.” She handed him a piece of paper anyway and the man nodded.

“Only because it’s you, and besides he’ll be glad to hear from you.” Vilkas missed the next part of the conversation as he walked out of earshot.

Once all the crates were loaded onto the cart Vilkas walked back towards Jorrvaskr. Ariella walked down the steps with the man who was clearly a friend, “When will you be coming home, Ariella?” The man asked while they were saying their goodbyes.

Vilkas paused, hand resting on the door. His wolf senses were the only thing letting him hear the conversation at this point. The thought had never really crossed his mind before that point, yet he was curious about her answer.

“Soon I imagine. I don’t think I’ll be needed in Skyrim for much longer.” Vilkas felt his heart sink and walked back inside, not letting himself hear the rest of that conversation.

Of course she would want to go back to High Rock though. He had been foolish for not considering it before this point. He wondered if she would come back and how long before she left him.

---

Vilkas’ room felt empty with all of the books gone. There were just the ones on his shelf, which Ariella had carefully placed away.

They were all books about the companions, ones he had read hundreds of times before. Maybe if he went to Belethor’s tomorrow he could get some new books.

Vilkas looked around his room, it was neat despite the clutter. It almost felt like it wasn’t his room, he’d gotten so used to the crates taking up so much space.

“It’s like a new room.” Ariella observed, looking around the room.

“It’s certainly strange.” He drew back the covers and slid in beside her. She reached for him before he had even lain down and held him close, fingers toying with his chest hair.

He got comfortable, arms closing around her, there were so many things he wanted to ask her.

“I was thinking we should go back to High Hrothgar, ask them about that shout, return that horn.” He hummed in agreement, “They probably think I’m dead, it’s been that long.”

“I’m sure they haven’t even noticed how much time has passed. Must get awfully boring on that mountain.” Ariella laughed lightly. “What was in that extra crate?”

“Oh, I sent some of my full journals and the stone tablet back to High Rock. Saves me from taking them all back.”

“And when will that be?” She looked up at him, a quizzical expression on her face. “When will you be going back, that is.”

“I don’t know…” She murmured, pressing her lips to his chest, “Would you come with me?”

Vilkas felt like a weight was being lifted off his shoulders as Ariella looked at him. She bit her lip out of nervousness and Vilkas took a moment to realise that her nerves stemmed from his lack of answer.

“Of course. I’d follow you to Oblivion and back.” Ariella smiled at him before leaning over to kiss him.

“I love you.” She said, shifting so she was on top of him.

“I love you too.”

The Companions were still on high alert, convinced the Silver-Hand would be waiting to attack them. Yet as the days passed the Companions were slowly relaxing.

During those weeks Kodlak had put his search for a cure on hold. Yet, feeling more comfortable with their situation he resumed his search and quickly found the location of the witches.

Ariella was called in to see him and she knew straight away what it was about. He silently handed her a piece of paper, his script messy but still legible. His hands shook slightly now, the curse on him only getting worse.

“Head out in the morning, tell no one where you are going.”

“No one?” Ariella questioned, she didn’t think she could handle this on her own.

“Aye. Vilkas’ rage would prove too great and we need those heads in tact. We don’t know how the wolves would react around them anyway, that place may as well be in Hircine’s hunting grounds. His influence will be great and there’s no telling what he could do.”

“What makes you think anything different will happen to me?”

“You’re Dragonborn, something tells me you’ll be fine.” Ariella nodded and left the room.

---

Ariella had walked into Kodlak’s quarters an hour or so before dawn. The old man was waiting for her, a sparkle in his eye that clearly showed his hope for the success of this. The cure was finally found and they could finally use it, well almost. There was still the matter of Wuuthrad, yet with almost all of the pieces located, now it wouldn’t take long at all.

Kodlak would work on searching for the shards while Ariella was away.

She sat down across from him, worry etched onto her face.

“Are you prepared to set out?” She nodded, “One head should be enough for now.”

“One?”

“You’re going alone, it wouldn’t be good if you got overwhelmed.”

“Oh, yeah.” She nodded then looked at Kodlak. “You don’t have much time, do you?”

It came out like a statement more than anything else. Ariella wasn’t sure how she wanted it to come out like. He sighed and nodded, “Our paths are not always easy, mine is just reaching its end.”

“How long do you think?”

“That I am unsure about.” Ariella smiled at him, a sad smile. “Don’t mourn those who aren’t even dead yet, girl.”

“Well I suppose I had best set off, I’ll come back as soon as possible.” Kodlak stood, joints creaking and popping. Ariella stood as well and was about to make her way to the door.

She couldn’t bring herself to leave just yet. She looked back at the old harbinger, who smiled encouragingly at her. She turned back and hugged the old man. He put his arms around her and smiled.

After saying a goodbye that for whatever reason felt final Ariella took off, determined to make it back quickly.

So you can probably tell that the end is coming soon, I'm going to try and upload every day or so from now on.

First of all, congratulations to the chapter "100", I have followed this story and it is always in my heart! I'm glad you update, I'm sad because it's close to end! I really hope that despite the pain coming, Ariella and Vilkas are able to stay together, and I hope that Farkas be able to declare his feelings towards Aela! I always wait for you!
