I probably should have mentioned that this was written with another prompt in mind, so that is why certain details of the A Night to Remember quest are out of order/made up.

Vingalmo and Valindor

(Anonymous) 2013-12-11 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Why does Vingalmo want Valindor to be a vampire? (Maybe he wants a cute sex slave?) How does the DB feel about changing him--does the DB feel obligated, or are they glad to go about changing others into vampires? What does Validor think of his new life--does he love the transformation from powerless fisherman to immortal, or hate being a monster?

Valindor has a lot of backs tory for someone whose only use in the game is being changed into a vampire. Let's make some use of him here.

Ahh, it was a warning shot. Sorry, I should have written that more clearly :)

I'm glad for your comments, as they help tug the plot and characterizations along in more specific directions. I'll have the next part up later today!

Gypsies Tramps and Thieves

(Anonymous) 2013-12-11 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
A la Khajit

I was born in the wagon of a travellin' show
My papa used to sell the moon sugar we'd grow
Mama would do whatever she could
But they'd say ,"No room for Khajit here."
So we'd get going, while the going was good

Gypsies, tramps, and thieves
We'd hear it from the people in the holds
They'd call us gypsies, tramps, and thieves
But every night the soldiers came around
And drink their skooma down

Picked up a cat south of Winterhold
Gave him a ride, welcomed him to the fold
I was sixteen, he was twenty-one
Rode with us to Riften
And papa woulda cut him if he knew what he'd done

Gypsies, tramps, and thieves
We'd hear it from the people in the holds
They'd call us gypsies, tramps, and thieves
But every night the soldiers came around
And drink their skooma down

Never did much foolin' but he taught me well
With his smooth Elsewyr smile
Three months later I'm a gal in trouble
And I haven't seen him for a while,
I haven't seen him for a while,

They were born in the wagon of a travellin' show
Mama used to sell the moon sugar they'd grow
Grandma'd do whatever she could
But they'd say, "No room for Khajit here"
So we'd get going whilst the going was good.

Heist-fic

I would love to read like a Skyrim penny-dreadful. Something with plot twists and cheap thrills and an epic heist. The Thieves Guild need to thief more, dammit! If any potential A!A can include a pairing or smut as well, then that would be pretty fabulous.

I would just love me some fills about the thieves guild being thieves, the more epic the thievery the better,

Any/Any, Kink Meets Squick

(Anonymous) 2013-12-12 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
(Inspired by a similar prompt on the Assassin's Creed Kinkmeme - just so nobody thinks I'm a prompt-stealer from another fandom)

Two characters are in an established relationship. They're in the getting-to-know-you stage and trying some new stuff, and finally it gets to the point where they discuss their personal kinks. You know, the ones you haven't told anyone else about because you're afraid they'd laugh or not like them (maybe this happened once before?). (Kinks can be as vanilla or hardcore as Anons like, btw)

And Char A tells of their kink and is nervous and tingly with anticipation because they think their lover is going to lovelovelove this same kink. Only. Char B is genuinely thoroughly squicked by this kink.

What happens? How do they deal? Do they ignore it? Do they compromise? Do they try something else? Inquiring minds want to know.

All characters, genders, races welcome.
Kinks: any kink you can think of.
Squicks: Non-Con (total consent preferred to partial/dubious)

Here is the next part. Dunno how long this is gonna be, but enjoy! It might be a little slow to start. Gotta build up a back story and all..

_________

Ancano shook his head in a gesture of frustrated fatigue. It was a flurry of snow and ice outside currently, and he was not looking forward to climbing out onto the roof to search for his belongings. Besides, the college was large; they could be anywhere up there. Glaring down at the witch, he pointed at her and growled, "March."

Gia widened her eyes, "It's freezing out there! Can't it wait until morning?"

The Altmer didn't reply, merely aimed a lightning bolt directly at the wall behind her. Gia jumped as a crackling blast exploded just above her head. As another hit, she squealed and scampered towards the exit with Ancano hot on her heels.

"This isn't how you play the game," she complained, shivering. "You're supposed to find them yourself and then get me back later somehow! Didn't anyone ever teach you the etiquette of pranking? You didn't even let me change out of my wet clothes. If I freeze to death up here it's YOUR FAULT!"

"The faster you lead me there, the faster we'll both be back inside and warm," he replied without much sympathy.

He watched as the girl's lower lip pooched out in an impressive pout, before resuming its quivering. She did look cold. Good. Served her right.

"Over there. See?" She pointed to a large pack tucked away discreetly in a corner.

Ah. Yes he did. Ancano made to open the sack when he hesitated briefly, shooting her a suspicious glance. "You open it."

Gia arched a brow, "Really? You aren't scared of a little ol' bag, are you?"

"Open it!" Another lightning bolt scorched the ground in front of her, sending her tumbling backwards onto her back end.

"Jeeez! Alright already!" The Breton untied the cord and drew the sack open with a huff of annoyance. "See? Look there. All your stuff, just like I said."

Ancano glowered at her and snatched the bag, tucking it safely under an arm, "Touch my effects again, and I'll have your hands removed, Breton."

* * *

She left the next morning, bright and early. Ancano watched her jog down the crumbled bridge with a slight crease between his brows. He almost hated himself for wondering when she would be coming back.

Re: F!DB!Breton/Ancano - Stamina 4/?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-12 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Gia made it a point to stay away for several days. If anything, just to give him a chance to cool off. Those bolts of electricity had gotten just a tad too close to her for comfort. She had no false sense of security either; he was entirely capable of causing her serious bodily harm should she push him too far.

Still though, the fact that he had exercised restraint gave her a bit of a rush. If she didn't know any better, she'd think that he was actually enjoying this little war of theirs... Even if he admitted it or not. It wasn't everyday that a high elf would lower him(or her)self down to a human's level.

Gia thought of the piles of snow he'd dumped on her and giggled. And he was right, she WAS lucky he'd decided to be lenient on her. She best stop now while she was ahead. Yes. That was the only logical thing to do.

So why was she headed right back towards his bedchamber? And why did she have a necklace of extreme stamina clasped in her fist? It certainly was a beauty. She'd found it in a ruin over in Markarth, when she'd agreed to take care of that huge frickin' spider for Calcelmo. After, she'd given it to him to see what the enchantment was.

Calcelmo had held it up in front of him with a bored expression, "Stamina perk... My, my. Fifty fold. Strong enchantment but I've no use for it. Go ahead and keep it, girl. With my thanks. Here, you may go into the museum now."

Gia grinned up at him and took the little key with obvious delight. She'd headed towards the museum immediately, only to be distracted by the sight of another figure pacing back and forth in front of the Jarl's chambers. The robes he wore were only too familiar. Curiosity piqued, she watched another male Altmer and his guards conversing quietly amongst themselves. Perhaps sensing her stare, the one in the Thalmor robes twitched a bit, then glanced over his shoulder, catching sight of the little Breton girl.

"You there. Breton. Is there something you wanted?" He snapped his fingers at her.

"Hello," Gia said politely. This Thalmor was unfamiliar. She would do well to be careful. He might not be as tolerant as Ancano apparently was. "Just admiring your robes." In a way it was true. They were snappy dressers indeed. "Didn't mean to interrupt."

"You have the honor of addressing a member of the Thalmor. Bask in it," he replied, upper lip lifting in a haughty sneer.

Gia briefly wondered if that was his way of returning her greeting before she gave him a slight nod, "Oh, I do. I find your people to be very enjoyable."

At this, the high elf lifted a surprised brow. Not the reaction he'd been expecting, that was for sure. "It is refreshing to find at least one soul in this craggy, wretched city that knows privilege when she sees it. I am Ondolemar, Commander of the Thalmor here in Markarth. And you are?"

"I'm Gia. Gia Blackblood. I usually stay over at the College, but I wanted to visit Markarth," ever charming, she offered him a little curtsy.

"Why would you ever want to do a thing like that?" Ondolemar seemed genuinely puzzled. "Visitors are usually not treated kindly here. The people are... suspicious of them. To put it kindly."

Gia shrugged and sauntered over, "I got a note from Calcelmo. He'd heard that I'd gotten hold of a dwarven arrow and he wanted to buy it from me. Besides, I love Dwemmer ruins. They're fascinating. So uh, I take it you're not from here."

He scoffed quite openly, "As if this craggy, wretch of a city could give birth to a superiorly bred Mer such as myself. No, I'm not from Markarth."

Re: F!DB!Breton/Ancano - Stamina 5/?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-12 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Gia blinked, "No, I guess not. Forgive my ignorance."

Ondolemar flapped a hand at her in dismissal, "Think nothing of it. I've come to terms with humans and their tendency to state the obvious. You said you were from the college, yes? Tell me, have you met my associate stationed there? Ancano is his name."

She gave a noncommital shrug, "Yes. He's there as an adviser to the arch mage, Savos."

"Indeed. I wonder if you would do me a favor?" Ondolemar folded his arms across his chest and peered down his nose at her. He seemed to be quite confident that she'd agree.

"I don't see why not. What's the favor?"

He seemed quite satisfied with her response, "The next time you make your way there, would you deliver this missive to Ancano? As you can see, I've sealed it and I'll expect that it will remain that way until you give it to him." He tossed her a meaningful look as he produced a rolled scroll from the depths of his robes.

"Sounds simple enough. Sure," Gia said, taking the parchment with a sweet smile.

"Good girl," Ondolemar said, patting her head like one would a trained pet. "And if you should see fit to ever revisit this pigsty, do come see me for payment. Perhaps I'll have another job for you as well... If, of course, you carry this one out to my satisfaction."

Gia put up with the head pat, gritting her teeth all the while, but nodded in agreement. It would do her well to have friends in powerful positions, "It'll be done soon. Gives me an excuse to talk to him again anyhow."

"Oh?" The Altmer seemed intrigued, "How is that?"

Whoops. Gia glanced up at him with a cautious stare, "Well, Ancano and I aren't really on the best of terms."

"No? Tell me why," he demanded.

"Wellll," she drawled, "I kind of, sorta, maybe played a couple of jokes on him."

"Jokes? What sort of jokes?"

Reluctantly, Gia told him about putting the stamina potions in his room and hiding his clothing on the rook. She left out the part about finding his amulet, though.

Ondolemar appeared rather taken aback for a moment, before snorting some distinctly unrefined laughter, "Did you really? You have some nerve, girl. I have to say that I'm rather surprised that you're still in one piece. Ancano isn't known for his patients. Especially where humans are concerned."

The Breton pouted again, "He dumped a bunch of ice on me. Right in the library. And then he told Urag that I was the one who got all his books wet. Then Urag made me alphabetize the entire library. Took me ages."

Again, Ondolemar chuckled. He liked this little human. She was quite amusing. "Some advice then, girl. Tread lightly. Ancano has quite the temper."

With that, he snapped his fingers at the guards and beckoned them. Without another word, he left her standing there. Apparently, the conversation was over.

Re: F!DB!Breton/Ancano - Stamina 6/?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-12 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
And so here she was again. In his room with something to antagonize him. She thought to leave Ondolemar's message on the haystacks by his bed, but thought better of it. The Commander had specifically told her to deliver directly to him. She ought to find him and do just that. But first...

Gia carefully laid the amulet of extreme stamina on his pillow, making a careful loop with the chain. There now. Surely he would love it. It was so shiny!

"Why is it that every time I retire, I find you in my room?" A voice behind her queried.

Gia spun around and saw Ancano leaning against the door frame, looking distinctly put-out.

"Ondolemar wanted me to deliver this to you," she replied, holding the missive out towards him.

At that, Ancano raised a brow and took the offered message, "Did he. And when, pray-tell, did you talk to him?"

If she didn't know any better (and she surely did not), it almost sounded like he was a little jealous, "I traveled to Markarth last week and met him when I visited the Dwemer museum."

"As far as I've been informed, that museum has been closed to the public for some time now. How did you manage to gain access?" He asked, still blocking her escape.

"I killed a giant spider," she beamed up at him.

Ancano rolled his eyes, then caught sight of the amulet on his pillow, "That had better not be what I think it is."

Gia snickered, "Well, I guess that all depends on what you think it is."

Ancano flicked a finger towards her and Gia found herself held against the wall by an unseen force. Helplessly, she watched as he held the pendant up and examined it, "Stamina perk. A strong one at that. Why am I not surprised?" He glared over at the little irritant and began to walk towards her, "My stamina likely far exceeds your own, Breton. Must I prove it to you?"

"You are the hardest person to shop for," she sniffled before the implications of what he'd said hit her. "Let me go."

"No."

She widened her eyes, "W-why not?"

"Oh, so now you fear me. Why now? Because you're in a compromising position? Where was that fear, I wonder, when you stole from me? Or when you deliberately sparked my ire?"

"I'll scream."

Finally, he smiled and waved a hand towards his doorway. Gia saw a slight bluish mist waver, then take hold. As it settled, it seemed to pulse and throb with a strange power.

"It's a ward," he supplied, seeing her confused expression. "Sound-proof and impenetrable. From the outside, it will simply look like my room is empty. So please, scream all you like. I'd rather enjoy it, really."

Gia closed her mouth with a shocked snap.

"Nothing to say? Honestly? I find that a tad disappointing. Usually, I can't shut you up to save my life. Perhaps you need some encouragement?"

The Equivocal Shroud [6/?]

(Anonymous) 2013-12-12 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
I blinked, puzzled. “No. Come wait inside.”

He stayed in place, expression indecipherable. I, too, refused to move, wondering what had brought this on. I could understand if he disapproved of my actions, but subjecting himself to the bitter cold simply to make a statement was so out of character. It became clearer that something had changed for us in the past day, a shift I failed to identify. Disquiet spread through my sternum, and the snow crunched under my boots as I stepped closer, my brow creasing.

“Will you at least wait in the Gray Quarter? Pass the time with Ambarys at the Cornerclub,” I suggested. Anything but waiting out here. The image of him shivering in the freezing air did not sit well with me.

Erandur seemed to deliberate with himself for a few seconds, but nodded. Wordlessly, he pivoted on his heel and headed in that direction. I watched him go, trying to compartmentalize my concerns to address at a later time. For now, I had to set them aside.

My entrance into the Palace of the Kings echoed throughout the vast interior as the doors slammed shut behind me. Stillness greeted me at first, followed by the rumbling tones of Galmar Stone-Fist’s voice up ahead. The gothic design of this palace contrasted with the ornate structures of Solitude’s; fitting for their respective Jarls. I made my way around the grand banquet table, passing by the steward, Jorleif. He bid me a genuine welcome, the first I received since arriving at Windhelm. I acknowledged him and continued toward the rear of the main hall, where Galmar stood guard next to Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak.

My eyes locked with Ulfric’s, and immediately I felt the draw of his power and fortitude, similar to the first time I met his gaze in Helgen. We had sat side by side on that wagon carrying us to our deaths, a gag across his mouth and a hood over my head. And somehow, here we were now.

I dropped to one knee before the throne, a sign of both reverence and fellowship for the man whose fate had been rewritten along with mine. I held that position until Ulfric rose to his feet.

“Come with me, Kressun,” he ordered, striding past me toward the war room. “We need to have a talk.”

I straightened and glimpsed the dubious look etched across Galmar’s features as I trailed after the Jarl. Our footsteps resonated in the torch-lit stone corridors leading to the upper levels, and I noted the decreasing number of guards stationed on either side as we neared his quarters. I appreciated the display of trust, though I knew many in his Hold considered me a threat despite the deeds I had performed for their benefit. Thane, Dragonborn, these titles mattered little when others harbored no respect for the person holding them.

Sometimes, I regarded my survival as an inconvenience and my birthright as a thankless chore, made more evident by the relentless antagonism bearing down on me everywhere I went. Other times, I welcomed the challenge, seeing it as a set of trials to overcome. And I wanted to succeed. I needed to succeed.

I had no other choice.

"Gods, the trouble you people get in to! Last time you two showed up, you--", Elgrim pointed fiercely at the young elf leaning against the wall, "--Were begging me for a potion to cure your vampirism! Why you waited so long for that is beyond me, by the way! You think you're invincible because you're young and an elf, is that it?"

Lendri shrugged his shoulders, noncommittal, knowing from experience it was best to keep quiet when the alchemist was on a tirade. The old man shook his head.

"The folly of youth, I suppose." He turned to the Dunmer sitting and shivering miserably on the bench. "You'll be fine as long as you don't do anything foolish. And don't eat until tomorrow night, understand?"

"Fine," Teldryn said. His voice was nearly a growl.

"He means 'thank you'," Lendri said as Teldryn got unsteadily to his feet. He draped one of the Dunmer's arms across his shoulders. "Really, thank you, a lot. You have all of my thanks."

The old man's face softened into something like a smile, but he only waved them toward the door. "Go on," he said. "Get yourselves home before you manage to fall into the lake or something."

It was raining outside. Together they made their way over the slippery boardwalk to the small home they rented by the canal. It was cozy, but old and rickety, and Lendri swore at his housekey as he as he tried to work the stubborn lock. At last it clicked into place and with a little effort he shoved the door open. It was dark within, and cold. They hadn't been home in over a month. For a moment the rain and howling wind filled the tiny space; then Lendri shut the door and they stood in blackness. But he knew the place well enough. It was the work of a moment to set a small blaze in the hearth with a flame spell.

Teldryn was still shivering. They'd been caught in a rockslide, and his arm had been broken, twisted at an awkward angle, ribs bruised black and cracked. Without the priest he likely would've died. The bones had been knit back together, but the ordeal of walking back to town with half his torso broken, and the aftereffects of Elgrim's potions, had taken a toll on him.

Pallor on a Dunmer was hard to detect, but Lendri knew Teldryn well enough to know that his skin wasn't the right shade of gray. The Bosmer had been lucky enough to walk away from the avalanche with only scrapes and bruises, and was hardly worse for wear.

"Come on. Let's get into some dry things."

There was a small bedroom partitioned off from the living room by a short wall. Teldryn sank down on the edge of the bed while Lendri hunted through the clothes chest. The Bosmer dressed quickly and looked up to find Teldryn watching him with a dead-eyed, unfocused expression. A thrill of fear ran through him.

"Teldryn?"

The Dunmer blinked. "...What...?" He stared a moment more before shaking his head. "Sorry. My mind keeps wandering." Slowly he began to remove his armor, fingers clumsy.

"Here. Let me." Lendri removed the breastplate easily--he'd done it enough during happier times that it was easy now, and he almost smiled, thinking of what usually followed. Beneath the damp material Teldryn's skin was clammy, the bruise not yet fully faded despite the healer's work. Lendri frowned, laying a hand on the darkened flesh.
"Does it still hurt?"

Teldryn covered Lendri's hand with his own, cherishing it against his chest. "You worry too much."

"That's no kind of answer."

"It's the only answer you'll get."

Re: second part of 1

(Anonymous) 2013-12-12 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
Lendri decided not to pester Teldryn while he was feeling poorly. "Oh, very well then. I'm going to make you some canis root tea."

Teldryn briefly held on to Lendri's hand but let it go as the Bosmer stood up. "That would be good."

Lendri hesitated a moment, wondering if Teldryn wanted him to stay. Making tea doesn't take long, he decided. I'll be back in no time.

Personally, Lendri hated Canis root tea. It smelled good but had a sour undertone that made his tongue cringe. Despite this it had been a popular drink in Solsthiem, and Teldryn seemed to like it. While the tea steeped, Lendri rummaged the shelves for food, and turned up a few strips of dried rabbit, a little salt, a moldy heel of bread, and a few wrinkly apples, carrots, and potatoes.

The rabbit seemed best, and he gnawed on it until the tea was ready. With a little time and effort, he could have made a simple soup, but he didn't really feel like it would be fair to fill the house with the smell of food Teldryn couldn't eat. The mugs on the mantelpiece were clean: at the Dunmer's suggestion, they'd made a habit to never leave the place a mess before going out on any kind of adventure. He filled one and tasted the mixture, wondering if Teldryn had been right about it being an acquired taste. Well, if that was true, he hadn't acquired it yet.

"Hey, Teldryn. Tea's ready."

Teldryn murmured his thanks and accepted it, sitting hunched in the corner of the bed, sipping morosely. He'd changed into normal clothes, sturdy Nordic things they'd bought from the general store, and looked somewhat awkward, as if armor or nakedness were more natural states for him. Lendri curled next to him, nibbling on the last bite of the rabbit.

"Is there any of that left?"

"You know you ought not be eating now."

"Alchemists aren't always right."

"They are sometimes though. Enough that it's better to listen, in case this is one of the right times."

"But--"

"I'm not listening, Teldryn. Or that's not right, I am actually listening, I'm just not putting stock in what you're saying, is all."

"Don't mock me."

"I wasn't. You don't want to be vomiting, do you? Besides, it's just stale jerky. You're not exactly missing anything."

Teldryn sighed. "I'm hungry enough to eat that, though," he mumbled, but grew quiet. They sat in silence for a while, Teldryn drinking his tea, Lendri running a hand through the Dunmer's dark stripe of hair. At length Teldryn set the empty mug on the bedside table.

"Where's that Ice Atronach spell tome you took off that one wizard who tried to kill us by that one keep near the springs?"

"This is no time for you to be working on your magic."

"But I've been using Flame Atronach forever. I need to better learn my craft."

"Some other time. Give yourself a day or two to get better at least."

"Lendri. I'm fine."

"Liar."

"Why would I lie to you?"

"I don't know, because I 'worry too much'? Because you're a bit of a fool? Because everything is good in moderation? It doesn't really matter. You should be resting."

"I'll admit to feeling a little, rough, I suppose. But I might as well distract myself with some reading. Besides, you can't very well get me to sleep if I'm not even tired."

"I'm not going to be an accomplice in your scheme to avoid resting. I've seen children make up better schemes to not sleep, by the way. But if you want that book so badly--well, I have no idea where it is. So even if I wanted to help you I couldn't." Lendri turned his head and kissed Teldryn's cheek, nuzzling the rough stubble for a moment. "Don't worry. One day of resting and healing, alright? It's not forever."

There was no answer, and Lendri smiled. In spite of his protests, Teldryn had fallen asleep.

I think quite a few of us find Ondolemar pretty irresistible, myself included, so he is always a welcome addition to a story. I am however saddened by the comparatively smaller amount of Ancano fills on the meme, so I'm double extra happy to see this getting filled, and so well too! You have that Thalmor snark down perfectly, and I can hardly wait for the steamy bits!
