Any/Any, Kink Meets Squick

They're in the getting-to-know-you stage and trying some new stuff, and finally it gets to the point where they discuss their personal kinks. You know, the ones you haven't told anyone else about because you're afraid they'd laugh or not like them (maybe this happened once before?). (Kinks can be as vanilla or hardcore as Anons like, btw)
And Char A tells of their kink and is nervous and tingly with anticipation because they think their lover is going to lovelovelove this same kink. Only. Char B is genuinely thoroughly squicked by this kink.
What happens? How do they deal? Do they ignore it? Do they compromise? Do they try something else? Inquiring minds want to know.
