UNBOUND PART 2 THE LOVELY LOVE TRIANGLE (1/2)

(Anonymous) 2013-12-18 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)

UNBOUND: THE BEGINNING OF THE TALE OF THE DOVAHKIIN PART 2

The trip to Riverwood from Helgen had been horrible. It was long and cold, but at least the company had been good. Marilena had decided to travel with Ravioli after they had managed to escape the evil, black (yet oddly sexy) dragon.

They had taken refuge inside the keep and found their way into the basement where the torture room was where they found the horrible (and ugly) torturer and his tall and muscular assistant. They had kicked those guys' asses and then strung them up in a cage together to get a dose of their own stupid torturer medicine.

Ravioli had taken her to Riverwood, a little nobody town where his sister lived. There was a long boring unskippable talk by the river. Marilena mostly focused on catching butterflies and picking flowers for alchemy ingredients because having potions was both useful for fights and making mad bank at the store.

There had been some talk about going to Whiterun to warn the jarl there of the dragon. Marilena wanted to stay with the ruggedly handsome Ravioli because she was scared to go on her own. She had almost cried from the absolute fear that she had felt, but she had managed to keep it in because tears freeze in Skyrim and she couldn't afford to have angry red streaks on her cheeks. Had to keep those good Breton looks until she got a husband after all.

"You must go, Marilena!" Ravioli had declared as he held her hand by the river the town was named for. "I can't go because I must go warn the extremely handsome Ulfric that the dragon might be allies with those nasty Imperials. We have to save time by splitting up!"

"I don't want to leave you!" Marilena cried. Normally she would have wept prettily, but it was still cold out. "I love you!"

"I love you too!" Ravioli said back. He swept her into his arms and they kissed passionately. It was very passionate and stuff that songs are made of. Gerdur and her husband clapped politely at the stunning display before wandering off to whatever chores they had been doing before being interrupted by the duo's news.

"What if I never see you again?" Marilena murmured from within the safety of Ravioli's arms. "What if something were to happen to you?"

"I promise we'll meet again, my love," Ravioli swore as he nuzzled his chin on the top of her lovely, little head. "Come to Windhelm after you deliver the message to Whiterun and join the Stormcloak cause!"

"I will, I will!" Marilena promised. "Immediately!"

She left her lovey, love love by the river. She was about to leave Riverwood when an elf approached her.

"Did I see you talking to Sven? Maybe not. Maybe...nevermind. But I would stay away from him if I were you," the white-haired elf muttered.

"Wut?" Marilena said, raising an eyebrow in confusion. "Who's Sven?"

"He's a bard, so he says. Occasionally he finds time to do his job here at the mill. Thinks his ballads and sonnets are going to convince Camilla Valerius to marry him. As if she would say 'yes.' An intelligent, beautiful woman like her wouldn't fall for that nonsense... I hope," the elf explained.

"Oh dear, that's horrible!" Marilena said, clutching her fists to her chest. "How can I help?"

"I don't need your jokes right now, but maybe you have a point. Maybe Camilla needs some help seeing Sven for what he is. Could you... could you give her this letter, and say it's from Sven? I think I've matched that Nord's lack of cleverness perfectly," the elf snickered wickedly as he gave Marilena a note.

"That doesn't exactly seem very honest," Marilena grumbled. "Why don't we just do flowers and long walks in the moonlight by the river?"

"If you do this, I'll train you in archery for free," Faendal promised. "It'll be a little complicated because you'll have to pay me first and then just take the money out of my pocket and give it back to me like I never noticed, but I'll totes do it."

"Done!" Marilena giggled with a cute salute. Seriously, who was going to knowingly pass up free training?

When Marilena went to give Camilla the fake note, she overheard a conversation between her and her brother about them being robbed.

UNBOUND PART 2 THE LOVELY LOVE TRIANGLE (2/2)

"I'd love to help you get your stuff back!" Marilena said. It was impossible for her to refuse people help who clearly needed it even if they were having a private conversation.

"Thank you!" they said gratefully! Lucan and Camilla hugged her. "You're the best."

Camilla then escorted Marilena to the edge of town. "There's Bleak Falls Barrow," she said, pointing to the ominous landmark that Marilena has completely missed on her trip here.

"Oh, thanks, but I'm not ready to leave yet," Marilena giggled. "I have to do some shopping." She showed Camilla the ten sets of Imperial armor she had taken from the corpses she had helped kill during her escape from Helgen. "Gotta sell these and get some good gear."

"That's not dark or suspicious at all!" Camilla agreed. "You even cleaned the blood off!"

"I know! I'm considerate like that," Marilena smiled. "Oh, before I forget. I have this for you. It's from Sven."

Camilla read the note, her face darkening angrily. "How dare Sven talk to me like that! And in Faendal's handwriting! I'll show him." Marilena sort of wished she had remembered to read the note before handing it over. Oh well.

Camilla stomped over to the inn where Sven was playing for the night. He was singing "The Age of Aggression", one of three songs bards are legally allowed to sing in Skyrim.

"Camilla, my sweet," he said, his eyes lighting up happily when he saw her. "How are - oof!"

Camilla had kicked the handsome bard right in the family jewels. "Take that you...you...doo-doo head! We're through!" And then she left.

"Tough break, man," Marilena said as she watched him writhe on the floor, holding his abused groin. "Could you sing 'The Dragonborn Comes'? I love that song."

After Marilena sold all of her excess stuff, she approached Faendal. "Hey, I did the thing you asked. Camilla and Sven are totally broken up."

"Excellent!" Sven crowed. They high fived. It was epic.

"Can you teach me archery now?" Marilena asked as she handed him some money.

"I'll teach you all there is to know," Faendal promised. They had to repeat this exchange about ten times. It was tedious.

"Hey, you're okay," Marilena said when they were done. "Do you want to hang out some more? I'm going to this place to get a thing."

"Sure, sounds legit," Faendal shrugged.

The two of them went up to Bleak Falls Barrow and killed lot of mean bandits, nasty skeevers, gross undead, and one huge, icky spider. It was harrowing. At the end of the adventure, there was a big glowy wall with scratches and some epic music and when Marilena got closer to look at it, it all swirled and went into her.

"Oh no! I hope that's not some sort of weird ghost disease! I can't go through that again!" she wailed. Faendal hugged her and patted her back until she calmed down.

When they returned to Riverwood, Marilena and Faendal were overburdened with all the stuff they had looted off the dead (both recent and not so recent). They had everything that wasn't nailed down or part of the background. Even all the mummy wraps for just in case.

Lucan and Camilla were very happy when she returned the golden claw to them. Lucan gave her some money and Camilla gave her another hug. A long, lingering hug.

"I really respect someone who does the things you do," Camilla murmured shyly. Her eyes sparkled with admiration. "Maybe we'll see each other again?"

"Sorry, I don't swing that way," Marilena said, stepping away with her hands upraised.

"Oh, I understand," Camilla said sadly. She wiped a tear from her face. "I don't think I'll ever love another like I love you though."

Marilena turned to Faendal who had witnessed the whole thing. "Sorry, I didn't mean to steal your woman."

"Nooooooo!" Faendal wailed as he fell to his knees and raised his fists to the sky. "WHY, GODS, WHYYYYY?"

Marilena shrugged as she stepped outside. He'd get over it. It wasn't her fault that she was just so pretty and loveable. She took a deep breath of the night time air. Man, it felt good to help people.

But she felt like she was forgetting something important. Something she was supposed to do...

Oh well, she'd remember later.

To be continued!

Dear OP,

I'm working on a story for you. In the meantime, meet Brielle: http://i.imgur.com/IUtZSzm.jpg?1

Also, question: Ulfberth is married. How do you feel about Adrianne participating?

Re: Dragonborn's spouse/ housecarl (or steward)

YES.

I didn't know I wanted to write this until I read your prompt.

When you say "non human" are you looking for elves? orcs? or khajit/argonian?

Honestly, whatever you feel like writing, I love all the non human races. I have a thing for high elves but really, any race you want is great. I'm just happy someone liked the prompt. :)

Brielle was having a terrible week; she had been attacked by a troll, beset by bandits, chased by a flame atronach and nearly devoured by a dragon. Finally, as she had been staggering back to Whiterun in a desperate bid to get somewhere safe, she had been robbed. Robbed!

She couldn’t begin to explain it, except that she’d run out of food the day before and even foraging had not managed to fill her belly. There had been quite a few bandits, and she’d expended all of her magic quickly due to her fatigue. They had taken her hard-won septims, any of her gear which was worth more than a few coins, and left her there.

Whiterun was only a day or so from where she was attacked, but she was tired, battered, bruised, and in desperate need of coin when she stumbled through the gates.

Things were comfortingly normal. Adrianne worked at her forge. A few guards patrolled. There was nothing out of place in this little town, and for a moment, she allowed herself to think that things just might be looking up.

Then her stomach rumbled, and she was reminded of her very distinct lack of coinage.

Adrianne glanced at her, blatant appraisal in her gaze. She saw Brielle’s state, maybe even noticed how light her knapsack was.

“Brielle,” Adrianne said, her hands still moving at her work as she tanned a leather. “You alright?”

“Oh,” she said, not quite sure how to put her feelings into words. “Um…”

“I see.” Adrianne managed a small smile. “You need things. Check inside the shop.”

That was as clear a dismissal as she was going to get, but it hadn’t been what she expected. It wasn’t a dismissal exactly. It was… she wasn’t sure what it was. But she’d been sent inside, and so inside she went.
__

The interior of the shop was considerably dimmer than the exterior, and it took Brielle’s eyes a few moments to adjust. She blinked a bit.

“Welcome to Warmaiden’s.” Ulfberth greeted her, “Now you, my girl, have definitely come to the right place.”

“Ulfberth!” She greeted, trying to sound enthusiastic without letting any of her desperation seep into her voice. “I have a few things I was hoping to trade.”

“Well get over here and let me see what you’ve got.” He said. Now that her eyes had adjusted, she could see him assessing her, much like his wife had mere moments before.

“Just a few things,” she said, rummaging around in her pack. Out came an iron dagger, a rusty mace, a worn longbow, and a few forks she’d managed to scavenge.

As he examined the items she’d set on his counter, his brows crept up. His lips pursed, and it was clear from his face that he couldn’t believe that this was all she’d brought to bargain with.

“Brielle,” He sighed, a long-suffering, weary sigh, and pinched the bridge of his nose. He closed his eyes for a long moment, and then looked at her once more. “I can’t give you more than twenty-five septims for all of this.”

“I’ll take it!” she said, not even trying to haggle the price up. “I’m sorry, Ulfberth. I don’t mean to waste your time over little things, but I really need to buy some equipment, and I don’t have any other options. The other merchants don’t buy weapons. Please. I’ll do anything.”

“I may be able to offer you a solution to your problem.” He said at last.

“Whatever it is, yes.” She desperately latched onto his offer; Ulfberth and Adrianne had always been honest with her, offering prices that were more than fair and seeming to care about her personally.

“You might regret that, Brielle.” He warned, his face serious enough that she paused. “It’s not your… typical solution.”

“I don’t see that I have much of a choice, Ulfberth.”

“If you’re certain,” he still hesitated, as though he were concerned, and Brielle paused. Was his solution really so terrible? It was true that Ulfberth and Adrianne appeared to be upstanding citizens, but she of all people knew that appearances could be deceiving.

“Yes.” She said, trying to feel as certain as she sounded. There were so many things which could go wrong, agreeing to an unknown bargain for the sake of some food.

“I’ll hold you to your word then, but first, let’s get you fed.”

They sat in the kitchen, Ulfberth serving her hot stew from a kettle over the fire, and a chunk of bread slathered in fresh goat cheese. Brielle tried not to devour it too quickly, but it was the first food she’d had in far too long, and it was delicious. Lightly spiced and full of meat and vegetables.

“Please keep eating while I explain the terms,” Ulfberth said, finally bringing their conversation back to the main topic. He passed her some mulled mead before sitting down across from her. “Adrianne and I have a special sort of marriage. One which allows others into our relationship from time to time.

“Now, Adrianne approves of you, or you wouldn’t be here right now. And clearly you’re in a difficult position.

“We’re not a charity. We don’t hand things out, and you’ll be expected to work off what we give you. There are a few options for this. You could work at the forge, making the swords and equipment that Adrianne needs to keep the Imperials equipped. It would take you many months of gathering ores and smithing them, but we would pay you fairly for your time and labor.

“Or, you can pay with your body.” He paused, for effect, or to let it sink in. She wasn’t sure. “One week at my beck and call.”

Brielle eyed him warily. This was a joke, right? Ulfberth was… well, he was a fine man. He was tall and broad-shouldered, with muscles which came from hard work. His dark hair and beard were groomed and kept trimmed neatly. His eyes were a lovely blue, and even the scar on his cheek was attractive. She opened her mouth to reply, rethought, and instead bit her bottom lip.

Working her debt off at the forge was the more respectable option. And if it had been anyone but Ulfberth, she would have chosen that option. But, if she were honest with herself, she had to admit that she’d had more than a little crush on the man.

Steeling her courage, Brielle drained her mead, and set the goblet on the table firmly.

“I choose the second option.” She said, raising her chin and challenging him with her gaze. She would do this, and she would “When do we start?”

“In the morning.” He said. “For today you’re free to do as you please. You are welcome to eat supper here, and you may sleep by our hearth tonight if you wish. Or you are welcome to make other arrangements. But at dawn, you’re mine.”

With that, he stood and left the room. Brielle took a deep breath, and let herself sag. She was exhausted. She’d spent so long fighting, and she was emotionally and physically drained. But she wouldn’t show weakness.

She was strong. She was powerful. She was the Dragonborn and she would be respected. Feared, even. Nobody would ever know of this.

She took another slow, deep breath, stood, and headed out into Whiterun.
__

The Companions’ hall offered everything Brielle needed to pass the day. Food, alcohol, and warriors who were more interested in her ability to keep up with their drinking than her backstory. She found herself a place in an unoccupied bed, and slept off the day’s activities.

So far so good. Sparrow had found several more daggers, a shield, three swords, two helms and a battle axe. All made of the enchanted ice that the Thalmor were so enamored with. And each time she'd shown up, Ancarion had paid her for her finds. Generously.

Granted, it wasn't without a plethora of snide remarks. By both parties. Ancarion seemed to grow more and more irritated with her each time a transaction took place. As a result, each time she offered a piece of equipment, she had to almost wring his neck to convince him to purchase it. Sparrow didn't usually mind it when someone decided that they didn't care for her, but the Altmer's barbed comments were beginning to sting a bit.

And the funny thing was, she hadn't the slightest idea why. She hadn't made it a point to be extra snotty at all. Certainly not more than usual, anyhow. If anything, she conducted herself professionally. As much as she could, that is. Being raised on the mean streets of Riften didn't tend to produce the most eloquent of people. But what she lacked in etiquette, she more than made up for in street smarts.

Brynjolf had made sure of that. He'd plucked her from the orphanage almost the day she'd landed there. Ever since, he'd shown her the ropes and molded her into a fine thief. Ever since Karliah had shown up again, though, it hadn't been the same. Something huge had apparently gone down between Mercer and Karliah; causing Brynjolf to become distant towards her. He didn't even call her "lass" anymore. Just Karliah. She didn't like to admit that it bothered her. A lot. So much so that she hadn't been back to the guild in weeks. The girl wondered if Brynjolf even noticed she was gone.

Sparrow shook her head, trying to clear away the unpleasant memories. Those had nothing to do with the task at hand and, frankly, they were really starting to bum her out. There, the ship was in sight now.

He better appreciate all this, she thought peevishly.

Through much effort, she'd had come into possession of the entire set of legendary Deathbrand Armour. It was a beautiful suit of armour and each piece was powered with a very strong enchantment. Better yet, if the whole set was worn together, it was stronger than even Daedric armour.

"Is that right," Ancarion asked, after she'd explained what it was.

By the way his eyes were gleaming, she knew she'd brought a winner this time, "That's right darlin'. This suit here will land you all the women you could ever want and more respect than you deserve."

The high elf lifted the corner of his upper lip in a slight snarl. Little witch was full of venomous insults. He half-wondered why he hadn't bothered to do anything about it yet.

Because, he thought, she was true to her word and has proven herself a very valuable asset to this mission. At least, until I have enough weaponry to bring back, that is. Yes, after the fact I might have to- What's that whistling?

Blinking, he turned his attention back towards the little Breton standing in front of him. She was waving her hands in his face and whistling at him in an attempt to gain his attention, "Oi! Elf man! Come back to Nirn, we miss you so and I haven't got all day!"

"Shut your damned mouth, little bird. It's an honor for you to even be allowed to speak to me, let alone granted the privilege of doing business together. You will wait until I am ready to do the dealings. Now then, what makes you think I even want this ancient junk? We need new weapons and armour, not artifacts."

Sparrow narrowed her mismatched eyes at him, recognizing this game. Nothing was ever good enough for him, she always had to convince him to buy her wares. And the whole "little bird" nickname was starting to wear thin, "My name is Sparrow."

"Your true name is "Sparrow" as much as it is "little bird". I don't believe for one moment that that is your given name," he replied, unconcerned.

"You know, I can see why your kinsmen sent you way out here on ship. Alone," she snapped, dropping the helm at his feet with a loud -clang!-

"Snide comments and tantrums merely make you even more unpleasant," the high elf glowered down at her, crossing his arms over his chest. "This is Thalmor gold I am spending, and I will most certainly make sure that any product I purchase is up to our standards. If you don't like our arrangement, little bird, then I suggest you flutter off my ship immediately."

"Oh, no. Not after how long it took me to find all this. Do you know how many bandits I had to kill to get the complete set? Not to mention that it's one-of-a-kind, and in glorious condition. It looks like it was just forged yesterday, for Dibella's sake! You do realize that until now, literally the second I found it, that this suit of armour was only a legend? You should be honored to buy it and you will buy it," she said, planting both hands on her hips.

Ancarion recognized the stance by now, she was getting agitated. Soon she would threaten to walk, purchase or no. Time to make an offer before she did, and took that fabulous armour with her. He'd no doubt that she'd easily find another buyer for it, "Five thousand gold."

"I want twice that," Sparrow set her jaw stubbornly.

"Ridiculous. Five thousand and not a septim more," the high elf was unyielding.

Sparrow tugged on a braid in thought before an impish smile crept across her features, "Seven five, or this deal we got goin' on is over with. I'm not dragging anymore of this crap back here for you unless offer me a fair price for my time and efforts. You don't fool me, you want this stuff. You want it so bad you can taste it. I can see it in your eyes."

Ancarion bristled visibly. Bartering was not something he was accustomed to partaking in with a lesser race. He was accustomed to being agreed with quickly and completely, "Six thousand and you mind your manners whenever you board my vessel."

"Six five and you'll take me as is and like it, elf," she replied cooly, twisting the braided lock of hair between slender fingers.

Little wench. "Deal."

Money and equipment changed hands and the two regarded one another for a time. Growing uncomfortable with the silence, Sparrow shifted her weight from foot to foot, "Well? What are you staring at?"

"You, human. Why isn't your hair ever combed? You'd likely be much easier to look at if you'd put forth an effort to groom yourself even slightly," another sneer. "I'm surprised, yet relieved, that you don't smell badly."

An eye roll was his only answer.

"If you keep rolling your eyes at me, I just might decide to confiscate them one day," he went on. "It'd be a shame, really. They are your most flattering feature."

This time, a cagey grin appeared on her mouth, "Was that a compliment hidden somewhere in there?"

"Hardly. Trust me when I say that the rest of your appearance counteracts whatever appeal they may have. Get off my ship and comb your hair the next time you show up."

Like Galmar, Teldryn, Tullius...I'm not saying Ulfric because he has a way with words, he would pull a string of poetry from the air if he needed it, where as Tullius is more fortright. What I would like to see is some Thalmor Hunting - with a twist. We all know they're arrogant pricks but it is really sexy in a way. So give me the Dragonborn hunting Thalmor but with the intention of bedding them. She can kill them after if you like in a Black Widow type of way but mostly the goal is to prey on them for her pleasure. All of them are open season: Elewen, Ondolmer, Ancano, etc. Just give me those snooty elves being shagged fer a girl's pleasure.

I'm pretty good with dub-con (for the Thalmor) but I would prefer human and mer races. Double props for a Bosmer or Nord, though.

Squicks are any hardcore gore, bathroom kinks, and sappy romance (sorry, it kills my porn-loving heart to read sudden wuv in the middle of sex)
Size kinks are very much loved~
