Jarl Ulfrics Folly 1/b
Date: 2013-10-06 01:24 pm (UTC)The sound of Galmore clearing his throat brought him back to the present. Gilse raised her head and looked longingly at her small cloths. Ulfric followed her gaze “The fact that you lost them shows your ignorance in tactics”. “Had you not fought him, Stone-Fist would have left them to you". She seemed familiar something about her teasing the edge of his memory. Ulfric sighed “Your name?”. She shook her head. Ulfric turned to his steward “Jorleif fetch a whip”. He was aware of the incredulous looks he was receiving and was slightly offended. Surely his friends should know he would not actually use a whip on her. Bluffing never hurt and often got results.
He turned back to the elf “You are trying my patience”. She squared her shoulders. Slightly lifting her chin she finally said “Gilse Ondyn”. Ulfric turned to Galmore “I think she is finally learning her place”. He noticed Stone-Fists expression and threw him a puzzled glance. Galmore had an odd glint in his blue eyes. Ulfric shook his head again addressing his second in command “Stone-Fist considering she put her hands on your person I’ll leave you to decide her punishment”.
Galmore approached the young elf and stood looking down at her. “I think the wee lass has gained insight into her place here”. He reached down and tugged at a lock of her hair almost playfully causing her to jump.“I’d say a small fine to cover the cost of new garments..” He paused mid-sentence and stood watching her stroking his bead. “that and maybe a promise to be mindful of her manners should suffice” he said to Ulfric meeting the other nords startled gray eyes. Galmore shrugged his shoulders. Ulfric stared at Galmore. Why was he acting so out of character? And what was so dammed funny?
(The next section contains a new twist as Ulfric discovers she is the dragonborn! Poor Ulfric! I should have the next part up within the week
