"So the winning hand is equal or less than but closest to twenty-one. Or has an ace and a Jack?" The khajiit tilted her head curiously. No one had suggested poker in a long while. Somehow she always ended up with either five ace-of-blades or the dead man's hand and no one wanted to question why. The close-lipped smile she always wore when placing the cards was even more unnerving than seeing an Argonian grin with all their teeth.

"Yes," Vex nodded with a smile, sure to have the perfect game to beat this superbly lucky usurper, "In some places it's called 21 because that's the goal, but in others it's known by the winning hand. Black Jack."

"I really shouldn't test my luck. The lady may take offense."

"Who? Maven Black-briar?" Brynolf scoffed, "She doesn't care."

"No. The Lady is someone my family is very careful not to worship. To invoke her name is to bring... Misfortune on yourself. The last ones who did so... Well no one would tell me what happened, but the leader ran off and left an earlobe and a kidney behind."

"Sounds like Lady Luck to me. She's a fickle one to be sure." Drevyn shrugged.

"So I've heard," the khajiit smiled again that smile that hid her fangs, "but who am I to stand against my superiors hm? This one will play?"

"Good. I will deal," Vex took the deck and placed the cards. The ace of blades ended up in front of the Khajiit.

"This one will raise and take no cards."

"Call. Hit me." Repeated twice.

"Call. Hit me." A bust.

"Table is seventeen."

"This one has blackjack."
