My little girl, an Eira fill 1/?
Date: 2014-06-08 09:48 am (UTC)Tags: race:Nord, race:Imperial, char:Lucia, char:F!PC, series:eira
Summary: Heartstrings pulled, Eira adopts little Lucia and tries to be a good mother for the little girl.
A little girl, Lucia, sat on one of the benches in front of the Gildergreen sapling, begging people for some coin. Eira knelt down in front of her, “Hi Lucia, I’m Eira”. The girl smiled, “I know you! You’re the pretty lady from the inn”. Eira chuckled at that, “I guess that’s me. Why are you begging?” The girl’s smile faltered, “It’s what Brennuin said I should do when I’m hungry”. “Is no one looking after you then?” Lucia shook her head. “What happened to your parents sweetie?”
The little girl’s story of how her aunt and uncle, who should have taken care of her after her parents died, cast her out tugged at her heartstrings. Digging in her coin purse she handed the child a Septim. “Oh thank you pretty lady!” Eira smiled at the child before moving on to Jorrvaskr. She had a job to do.
Re: My little girl, an Eira fill 2/?
Date: 2014-06-08 09:49 am (UTC)Eira was shocked for a moment, but she could not deny the little girl, especially now that she had a house and enough money to take care of them both. “I would love to be your mother Lucia”. The little girl’s eyes were wide, obviously not expecting her to agree, “really? You… you have somewhere I could stay?” “Actually I just bought Breezehome a few days ago, it should be ready now”. “Oh wow! I’ll gather my things!” the little girl said as she ran off. Eira just smiled and quickly checked on the state of Breezehome, pleased to find it finished.
She waited for Lucia to find her way to her new home. “Is that all you have, Lucia?” she asked incredulously upon seeing the small pack the girl brought. Lucia nodded timidly. “Will you show me what’s in there?” The little girl shuffled her feet nervously before kneeling on the floor and opening her pack. She pulled out a piece of stale bread, some dried meat, a hat to protect her from the rain, a spare dress, faded from wear and a tattered blanket that had obviously seen better days as well. Eira’s heart broke seeing what little the girl possessed.
“Is there anything of sentimental value to you?” she asked. Lucia shook her head. “Anything you want to keep?” again she shook her head. “Then how about we get rid of this and go out to buy you some new clothes and toys?” Lucia’s eyes were wide as saucers as she looked up. “You would do that?” Eira smiled warmly at the child, “of course, you’re my daughter now aren’t you? That means I get to spoil you. Come on let’s go”. With that she helped Lucia put her things back into her pack and watched as the child set it by the hearth to be burned later.
As she walked towards the General Goods shop, Eira felt a small hand carefully grasp hers. She looked down and smiled to find Lucia’s small hand in hers. She led the girl into Belethor’s shop and led her to the clothing section. “What are your favourite colours Lucia?” she asked as she looked at the dresses. “I like blue… and red” she answered shyly. “Very well, blue and red dresses it is”, picking out the dresses, two of each colour to start with, Eira laid them over her arm before picking out some underwear and leading the girl over to the toys section. “Go on pick something out”.
Eira stood back and watched Lucia admire the toys. She picked up a beautifully carved stick-horse and quickly looked to her for approval. Eira smiled and nodded her consent. Lucia carefully carried her chosen toy over to Eira who took it from her before saying, “go on, pick out another toy”. Lucia’s eyes widened before she slowly turned to find something else. Eira meanwhile handed the dresses, underwear and stick-horse to Belethor before returning to the clothing section to pick out some shoes and two night shifts for the little girl.
After giving them to Belethor she made her way over to Lucia who was clearly having trouble deciding. In one hand she was holding a ball made of fine leather and filled with cloth, in the other she was holding a plain wooden yo-yo. “Take them both”, Eira said and steered the little girl towards the counter. Lucia shyly handed her toys to Belethor. “So she’s yours now?” he asked her. “Yes, I adopted her today”. Eira paid the man for her purchases and handed the ball and yo-yo to Lucia while she carried the clothes and stick-horse.
Re: My little girl, an Eira fill 3/?
Date: 2014-06-08 09:50 am (UTC)“Your room is upstairs to the left Lydia”, she said, taking her things back from the housecarl and leading Lucia to the children’s room in the back of the house. “There we go. I’ll put your clothes and shoes in this dresser Lucia. You can keep your toys and anything else you want in that chest”. She said indicating one of the two empty chests. Lucia nodded, smiling brightly, “thank you mommy!” Eira smiled, “you’re welcome Lucia”.
It was late at night when something woke Eira from her slumber. She opened her eyes and looked around only to find her door open and the silhouette of a child in her doorway. “Lucia? Is something wrong sweetie?” she asked. The child stepped inside, quietly closing the door behind her before walking up to the bed. Eira sat up, worried that something had happened. “What is it Lucia?” she asked again. Lucia frantically wiped her eyes, “bad dream”, she whimpered. Her heart breaking, Eira held out her arms and Lucia eagerly crawled into them, settling on Eira’s lap. “Shh sweetie, you’re okay now. Nothing bad will happen to you, I’ve got you”.
For a while they sat there, Lucia in Eira’s lap, arms wrapped tightly around her as her little body shook with the aftermath of her dream. Eira gently held her, softly stroking her back and whispering comforting words in the little girl’s ear. Finally Lucia calmed down. It took Eira a moment to realize she had cried herself to sleep. Not wanting to leave the little girl alone, she pulled the covers aside to lay Lucia down on the bed beside her, before pulling the covers back over her. Throughout the night and many nights after, she held her little girl, until finally the nightmares stopped.
Re: My little girl, an Eira fill 4/4
Date: 2014-06-08 09:51 am (UTC)Eira smiled fondly at the little girl before picking up the book she had been reading, ‘Death of a Wanderer’. Reading had always been one of Eira’s favourite pastimes, something that calmed her mind. The story, combined with the crackling fire and Lucia’s soft voice as she played with her figurines gave her a sense of peace, something she hadn’t felt in a long time. The letters began to dance in front of her as her mind wandered and suddenly she was back in Cyrodiil, many years ago.
“… and the bad men surrounded the mighty warrior, but they were no match for a hero. The warrior lifted his sword and fought his way through, easily defeating the bad men”. The warrior figurine held in a small hand smashed into the figurines carefully placed in a circle around him, throwing them every which way. “He dropped his sword and ran to the pretty princess”. A small hand carefully lifted the princess figurine. “You came for me my love, the princess said as the warrior pulled her into his embrace”. The figurines were pressed together. “Of course I came my princess. I will always come for you!” The door opened and closed and the little girl’s eyes shot up to the man that just entered their house. “DADDY!” she cried out, dropping her figurines and running straight into his arms. She was lifted easily in his strong arms and snuggled into him as he held her. “Eira, my dearest daughter. Have you been behaving while I was away?” The girl laughed, emerald eyes sparkling “Of course daddy, look I was playing!” a small hand indicated the lost figurines on the floor.
Hjalmer took in the figurines. The soldiers lying around and the prince and princess lying close together, obviously having been held together when he entered. He smiled at his precious little girl. “It looks like there was a fight”. Eira nodded enthusiastically “yes daddy, the warrior had to fight the bad men to save his princess”. Hjalmer nodded “I see, and did he succeed?” “Of course he did silly daddy, the hero always saves his princess from harm”. Hjalmer smiled at that ‘if only it was so simple’ he thought as he asked “and what happens now that he’s reunited with his princess?” His daughter’s brilliant smile warmed his heart. “They’ll get married and have babies and live forever and ever!” He squeezed his daughter in a gentle hug “forever is a long time”. Eira just smiled and kissed his cheek before squirming out of his hold.
“My Thane?” Eira shook herself and looked up, “I’m sorry Lydia, I didn’t hear you come in”. “Are you alright, my Thane?” Eira nodded, “I am, just… lost in thought”. Lydia smiled at her Thane, “I’ll get dinner started”. “Thanks Lydia”. Eira marked her page and closed the book, she wasn’t going to get any reading done now. “Time to put your toys away and get washed up for dinner Lucia”, she said softly. “Yes mama”, the little girl answered as she started to put the figurines back into their box. Eira smiled, the girl reminded her so much of herself at that age, she was glad she could offer Lucia a home and food. And when all this dragon business was over, she’d offer her a family too.
