Summary: Bhaskara has never forgiven himself for letting his housecarl die. But if he needs help, he might as well get it from somebody he would never bring himself to care about...so he thinks.
Hope you like it, OP!
"Warmness From Your Presence" 1/?
Date: 2012-08-09 02:29 am (UTC)Stenvar looked up from his meal to find a tall, gray Khajiit at his side, eying him coldly. Just the flash of his eyes made the Nord hireling a little uncomfortable, but he knew better than to let something like that stop him from making money.
“You looking for a bit of help? 500 septims, and I'll watch your back as long as you need me to,” he advertised with a light smile. The adventurer merely shrugged, rooting around in a pocket for the necessary coin.
“Hm. Bhaskara has been working hard these days. Having somebody to lighten the work would not be worthless,” he said firmly, rattling the coins in his hand before handing them over. “You will follow Bhaskara's orders to the letter?”
“Sure,” Stenvar said, standing and following the Khajiit as they braced the cold of Windhelm once again. He still found the Khajiit way of speaking a little strange, but he had picked up quickly that Bhaskara wasn't one to refer to himself as 'I'. The caravan workers he had met that one time had been like that as well. But those Khajiit had been a lot...friendlier than this one. The moment they had made it through the gates, he had turned away and began walking quickly, to the point where the hireling almost had to jog to keep up.
“Where are we heading?” he asked, just a tiny bit awkwardly.
“Bhaskara was promised gold if he was to venture into a cave and find a certain staff. Bandits will be inside, as usual,” Bhaskara informed him, his tone strictly professional. It wasn't anything Stenvar wasn't used to-- sometimes, adventurers just wanted to get the work done, make the coin, and get themselves fed, so it didn't bother him much at first.
At first.
As they walked onwards, he still tried to make a bit of conversation. Each question was answered shortly and with an irritated look over his shoulder, until the Nord settled for falling silent and keeping a few steps behind. Even then, Bhaskara looked over his shoulder again, finally opting for the jab he knew would anger the man most.
“This one has gotten quiet, hm? Surprising. Nords are stubborn fools, do not know when to quit.”
He knew from experience how proud the natives of Skyrim were of their heritage. Sure enough, Stenvar's face had grown darker, and the Khajiit looked back to the road, smirking to himself. Behind him, the hireling trudged along, arms crossed and glaring at his employer's back.
Self-assured, conniving bastard! he thought, infuriated. For everything he had been forced to tolerate over his years as a sellsword, the one thing he couldn't tolerate was an insult of his race as a whole. And from a Khajiit?!
He needed the money, he reminded himself. Truly, living in Candlehearth Hall was a pain, and he'd love to finally have his own home, but he wasn't quite rich enough yet. So, if dealing with a racist pest of an employer was the only way to get himself on that road, it would have to do.
It didn't mean he was going to enjoy it.

When Argis was assigned as the Housecarl to the new Thane he hoped that this new Thane would be kinder than the last few. The last few Thanes had taken one look at his blind eye and sent him back demanding someone with no handicap as if Housecarl’s were objects and nothing more.
Argis had been told to move all his things to Vlindrel Hall and over the first week every so often a new room would become refurnished. Now the house was completely redecorated Argis waited for his Thane to arrive.
Yet after three weeks there was still no sight of the Thane who was rumoured to be the Dragonborn. It seemed everyone in town had seen and interacted with the new Thane except that man who was sworn to protect him.
So he waited in the confines of Vlindrel Hall only permitted by the Housecarl Code to leave to obtain food. With every time he left he would hear more about how wonderful and caring his Thane was.
Yet when Argis did finally meet him he seemed to be anything but.
Argis stood when he heard the door to Vlindrel open, while a month ago he would have thought it to be his Thane his mind went immediately to either forsworn or thieves.
Argis rounded the corner with his hand on the hilt of his sword and instead of being greeted by a figure clad in black he was an impressive Nord in armour. The man was a tad taller than Argis himself, muscles toned, a worn face, heavy bags under his eyes, black hair that was in a fury of braids with steel armour coated in kinks and dirt.
“Do you greet all thanes by gawking like an idiot?” The man snapped as he crossed his arms.
“Sorry, my Thane.” Argis said looking down slightly embarrassed. His Thane sighed seemingly in annoyance.
“I going to rest don’t disturb me and clean my armour.” The Thane walked towards the bedroom and Argis trailed behind at a fair distance. His Thane was soon locked up in the room and after a short time came out and practically threw the armour onto the floor.
“Make sure you knock all the kinks out and if that’s beyond your skill you can pay Ghorza yourself to do it.” Without even another word the door was slammed shut again and Argis picked up the pieces of armour just thankful the nord hadn’t noticed his eye… yet.
Show No Weakness - Part 2/?
Date: 2012-08-27 01:26 pm (UTC)His Thane seemed to be too tired to notice anything though. Argis placed a full plate in front of his Thane who began eating with no hesitation. Argis sat across from the Nord slightly angled so his Thane could only see the right side of his body.
“So I heard you’re the Dragonborn.” Argis said after a while breaking the silence.
“Yes.” The other Nord replied as if the answer were obvious.
“I wish I could have learned to master the thu’um but I think adventuring is more my way of living.” His Thane froze spoon hanging in the air, he put his spoon back in his bowl before saying.
“What are you doing?”
“Making conversation, trying to get to know you better.” Argis said slowly.
“Don’t, I don’t need to know you and you don’t need to know me.” His Thane stood abruptly.
“Can I at least know your name?”
“No, just stick to calling me Thane.”
“Do you even know my name?”
“Of course it Areas the Bullhorn or something…” Argis looked down
“It’s Argis the Bulwark…” He said rather sadly.
“What ever, my armour better be ready I have to go clear a mine today.” His Thane grumbled.
“Of course my Thane…”
As Argis began to buckle up his Thanes armour he was careful to avoid his Thane’s glaze. His Thane on the other hand seemed far more preoccupied with looking bored and not moving than anything else. Anytime Argis so much a knocked an arm while he buckled his Thane would scoff and murmur about his incompetence.
Once the armour was buckled his Thane turned and his eyes narrowed.
“Are you blind in one eye?” He said through clenched teeth and Argis let out a sigh and let his shoulders slouch. “You didn’t think that would be something I would want to know?”
“I’ll go pack my things, you’ll have a new housecarl by the morning.” Argis resigned, this always happened.
“What? No!” The Thane sounded…panicked but then his composure returned. “It’s fine, just don’t get yourself killed or more importantly me.”
“Are you serious?” Argis asked, holding his shoulders a bit higher.
“Do I look like the kind of person to joke around? Get your sword we leave in an hour.” His Thane pushed past the housecarl and Argis felt oddly overjoyed. Someone actually wanted to keep him for once! Even if his Thane was a bit of a dick, he would just need some convincing. A chance to prove himself was all Argis wanted.
---
The Dragonborn pulled his sword out of the dead sabre cat and turned around to look at his Housecarl who had stayed clear from the fray. He crossed his arms in frustration.
“Aren’t you supposed to protect me, be my sword, fight my fights, not just stand there like some babe fresh to battle?” Argis looked at the ground.
“Sorry, I seem to have developed a phobia of Sabre Cats…” Argis said dumbly, “Lost my eye to one.”
“Oh poor kitty got Areas’ eye, toughen up or go home.” The Thane said before briskly turning on his heel and continuing his walk. Argis followed behind keeping his eyes surveying for danger that may be lurking, but nothing came.

I'm putting this up here to force myself to write the rest. Sorry if the end seems a bit random.....

Date: 2012-09-06 12:20 pm (UTC)His Thane practically growled as the half blind man stumbled over the corner of the tent for the hundredth time.
“By the nine, light a fucking torch you blind fool.” His Thane barked at him. “If you trip over once more and bring the tent down I swear…”
The threat faded away as Argis hid his face ashamed by his condition. All he wanted to do was… what did he want? He should have proven himself by now.
Argis had saved his Thane’s life countless times already. In the month they had been together Argis had killed countless undead creatures, a troll that was moments away from killing his Thane, pulled his Thane back from the edge of a cliff, aided in the defeat of dragons… Argis didn’t know what else to do.
His Thane walked briskly into the tent brushed past the housecarl roughly. Argis sighed and cautiously found his way to his own tent before climbing into his own bedroll.
He lay there for a while consumed in his thoughts recounting every event that could make his Thane have so little respect for him, it was as if the legendary Dragonborn hated him for some reason. Argis’ thoughts all lead back to the one conclusion.
No one would ever trust a half blind warrior.

Date: 2012-09-08 04:19 pm (UTC)Argis rubbed his eyes and began to pull down the tents “Yes, my Thane.”
As Argis packed up the bedrolls he glanced up and his Thane glanced away quickly as if he as been caught out in something shameful. Argis shook his head and went back to packing.
Within half an hour the entire site was packed up and Argis packed it all onto his back before they set out. The Dragonborn, renowned for his strength, wouldn’t dare carry a thing insisting it was his housecarl’s duty to carry around everything. Argis just wished his Thane would stop picking up soul gems and bear pelts.
“Hurry up, housecarl or go home.” The thane said as he climbed swiftly up a mountain. Argis struggled with all the added weight but with a determination to rival the gods he gritted his teeth and was soon side by side with his Thane.
“Ok find a place to hide the supplies, we’re going in there.” His thane pointed and Argis went off to search for a place to hide everything. Within minutes he found a place among bushes and returned to his Thane who already looked bored.
“Same drill, you die I leave you there.” Argis nodded; every time they went into a new ruin his Thane felt the need to remind him of that. It sent chills down his spine.
Show No Weakness - Part 5/?
Date: 2012-09-10 02:11 pm (UTC)Argis kept his eyes open but let his mind wonder as he followed. Again it seemed he had done the wrong thing. His Thane would probably finally be happy if he actually did die here.
His Thane jogged ahead and before Argis could follow he heard a cry. He drew his sword and round the corner seeing his Thane on the ground with draugr closing in.
“Hey ugly!” Argis called out. He was sure they wouldn’t understand him but he distracted them long enough to charge at them slicing one clean in half as it fell to the ground in a pile of ash and bones.
The Dragonborn didn’t get up from the ground leaving Argis to deal with all of the draugr.
The battle was… glorious. Argis didn’t seem to be making any mistakes. He swung with precision and almost every shot was a clean cut.
Yet then the blow that he never saw coming came. An ancient Nord battle-axe swung into his left side. Before he as time to block the next blow he was struck in the left leg and then again in the left ankle. Argis turned his cry of pain into a battle cry as he covered up the injury and finished off the last draugr.
The housecarl felt the pain searing through his body. There were probably at least three broken ribs, some serious bruising, perhaps a fractured ankle and just to top it off probably some internal bleeding, along with the external of course.
He searched his pack and only uncovered four health potions.
“Don’t just sit there like an idiot, give me the damn potion, can’t you see I’m in pain, hence blood running down face.” Argis handed him a potion and questioned if it would be a good or bad idea to ask for a potion.
The man wouldn’t even lend him arrows to catch food for him, Argis had a strong doubt the Dragonborn would give up a health potion so easily. When Argis focused again he saw the Dragonborn holding his hand out waiting to take a sack.
“Go back outside and wait.” The Thane said shortly his mood flaring. Argis handed the sack over.
“Are you sure, I’m sure I can be of some-”
“Oh for fuck’s sake, do as I say and piss off you oaf.” With that Argis watched his Thane walk away in anger. Argis waited for a bit before heading back. He took one step and feel to the ground.
“Yep broken.” He muttered to himself before picking himself up off the ground and limping back to the entrance.

Date: 2012-09-13 08:03 am (UTC)He began to madly search the surrounding area. The housecarl didn’t remember much from the many alchemy classes he received but knew what ingredients were good for healing.
Yet none of what he knew was around here. He found one plant that after chewing relieved some pain but the injuries were still there.
He considered again what would happen if he asked his Thane for a health potion but memories of the last time he asked sprung to mind
“Housecarl, when you can afford your own potions and buy your own potions then you will get potions, don’t try and steal mine. Fuck.” His thane had said quite angrily that the thought had even occurred.
He collected more of the plant that dulled his pain and using a section of his spare tunic bound his ankle tightly. When he took his boot off he winced at the deep purple bruising that was already there.
“Now’s not the time to show any weakness.” He muttered to himself. “If you’re weak you’ll never gain his respect.” He encouraged himself as he pulled his boot back on that fight tightly.
After removing his chest plate and examining his ribs he found a bleeding wound which he again wrapped tightly and hoped for the best.
They needed to head back to Markarth so once there Argis would deal with his injuries, until then there was nothing he could do. He searched through the pack and lightened the load, careful to not discard anything that belonged to his Thane.
“Areas, where are you?” Argis head his Thane angrily shout after an hour or so. Argis walked as normally as he could over to his Thane carrying the pack.
“Here my Thane. Where to now?”
“Home. I need to replace my sword and a proper meal wouldn’t kill me. Though your cooking might.” Argis nodded and followed his Thane obligingly keeping his limping to a minimum.
Argis gritted his teeth and dug his nails into his palms with every step and every breath as he tried to continue as normally as possible, despite the searing pain he was in.

Date: 2012-09-16 02:28 pm (UTC)The rocks came into view and Argis felt weak at the knees. He didn’t want to have to climb that. Every step felt like walking on swords for the last hour and it resulted in him breaking into a heavy sweat.
He knew the wound on his torso was probably bled through his top already and if he took the armour off there would be blood evident.
His Thane wordlessly began to climb effortlessly up and along the rocks as he expected Argis to follow.
The Housecarl put the last of the pain dulling plant in his mouth and chewed furiously for a moment before beginning the climb.
He held back a shout of pain at the first rock and then continued, his teeth refusing to allow him to chew. His Thane waited impatiently at the top glancing down every five seconds or so to see his housecarl’s progress.
When Argis actually made it to the top he felt extremely light headed and dizy. He fought with gravity for a moment to stay standing and between the double vision and lack of focus he thought his Thane actually looked worried. Yet once clarity was restored Argis saw the bored and unamused expression that was being held.
It was only another half hour till they reached Markarth again and the rest of the way was a nice cobbled road. Just on the other side of the hill they would reach the road and Argis would have no trouble then.
The Dragonborn and follower walked up the gentle incline before they began to descend the hill. However as soon as Argis used his left foot on the incline his legs buckled and he heard a crack as he tumbled down the hill.
Unable to move, to process what was happening or even just use basic survival instincts Argis just left himself, rather violently, roll to the bottom of the hill.
Once at the bottom the housecarl couldn’t move, afraid of what pain would ensue if her did.

Date: 2012-09-20 12:27 pm (UTC)He felt gentle hands on his shoulders and with an unknown strength Argis pushed himself off the ground and to his feet shrugging the hands away. Argis practically began to hop forward, instead of feeling the pain he mostly felt the sting of embarrassment as his eye prickled threatening to spill hot tears of shame.
“Argis, stop.” The Dragonborn said in a serious tone.
“Why?” Argis barked back. He stopped hobbling but also didn’t turn around, “So you can leave me behind to die? I don’t think so.”
“Argis, please!” His Thane begged once Argis began hobbling towards Markarth again. “It’s another hour till Markarth, two with your injuries.”
“What do you care?”
“Argis…” The Dragonborn sounded desperate; “We can set up camp and leave when you’re more able, there’s a clearing over there shielded by trees.”
The Dragonborn pointed off towards some trees and Argis began to limp over in the general direction. He found the clearing sure enough and began to set up the camp.
“Let me help.” His Thane insisted
“No.” Argis growled. Argis knew he shouldn’t feel angry towards his thane but he felt so embarrassed and so… so… he didn’t know…. Why was he acting like this? He was being a damn fool and he knew it, yet his pride wouldn’t let him show a single thread of weakness to the man who had up until now, been positively awful to him.
The Dragonborn stayed quiet after that, sorting through the pack to pull out supplies, which had always been reserved for him. There was an emergency plentiful healing potion, clean strips of linens, a needle, strong thread, some alchemy ingredients, a mortar and pestle, cotton and a few other odds and ends that could be used to save his life in dire circumstances.
“Sit.” The thane commanded the house carl once the camp site was set. Argis sat feeling the shame and embarrassment rise as his thane examined him. Argis noted that this thane seemed to be only looking at the left side of his body so he shifted, turning away slightly to shield his disability from view. “Take your chest plate and boots off.”
Argis wanted to protect but something in his voice made him comply. Argis thought he heard the tone of worry amongst the authoritative voice but he shook his head at the thought. He was clearly just hearing what he wanted. Is that was he wanted? Did he want his thane to care about him? No. Respect, just respect was all that was required, respect.
With painful gestures Argis got his chest plate off and his boots. His tunic was dark from sweat and blood but thankfully his thane didn’t notice the blood.
The Dragonborn’s attention immediately went to the ankle which was three times it’s normal sixe and a sickening purple-black bruise had taken it’s hold.
His thane took some of the healing potion and rubbed it into his ankle as gently as possible which earned a growl in return.
“Sorry.” The Dragonborn muttered so quickly Argis wasn’t sure he actually said it. As the ption massaged in Argis felt the break healing, the swell going down and the bruise disappearing. So as the pain dies the embarrassment of the situation set in all over again. This was the job of a priestess not a thane, Argis felt so ashamed for resulting a thane to do such a thing.
“My name is Amund…” Argis was shocked at the sudden outburst, considering the last time he asked.
“My name is Argis, not Areas.” The housecarl grumbled which earned a chuckle from his Thane.
“Argis the Bulwark. I know. I’ve always known.” The confession left Argis’ cheeks stinging.

Amund turned away putting some ingredients into the mortar and began to crush them silently. Argis curiously watched his thane work, making note of how his trained hands quickly ground up whatever he had placed in. Argis thought that maybe his Thane had been a priest at one point but shook the thought, any man that well... defined couldn’t have been a priest.
The Dragonborn turned his head slightly and Argis quickly looked away. Opting to look at the trees in the distance instead. He heard his Thane shift beside him and cough lightly to get his housecarl’s attention. Argis turned to face him a bit reluctantly.
“Tunic off.” Argis went to tug his shirt off but his ribs seared in protest. He winced as he raised his arms. “We’ll cut it off then…” Amund said turning around.
Argis’ eyes went wide and his face felt hot. When the Dragonborn turned back he held a dagger in his hand. With careful movements the tunic was cut and then the Thane began to help slide it off. The thane’s fingers ghosted Argis’ skin leaving it feel almost like a burn, a good burn.
The Thane frowned once the Tunic was off. The makeshift bandage was dark red with drying blood. “When did you get these injuries?”
“Back at the ruin...” Argis admitted.
“You’re such an oaf.” Argis felt stinging in his cheeks again and he stood quickly, careful not to apply too much weight on his ankle.
“We can leave now, head back to Markarth. My ankle is good and I can walk on it. I’ll get healed by the priestesses at the temple.” Argis looked down his hair just long enough to shield his face, but also his Thane’s face from view. What was he doing? Argis didn’t know what had come over him… He dared a glance at the face of his Thane and saw an expression contort with worry.
“No you will not.” Argis turned and began to walk over to where the pack was. He would get his other tunic and then… wait, he didn’t have another tunic, yet before he could continue walking his wrist was seized and he stopped. There was a certain spark that seemed to jolt Argis into stopping. “Sit and at least let me change the bandage.”

Date: 2012-09-24 10:42 am (UTC)The housecarl sat down and the Thane unwrapped the bandage slowly and carefully until revealing the horrific wound.
“Argis…” his thane said exasperatedly. Argis again shifted to move but the Thane was faster now putting a hand on his chest to stop him. “Stay.”
The Thane directly applied healing potion inside the wound, to flesh out and cure any infection. His Thane handed him a bottle with the label ‘Cure Diseases’ while he continued to apply small amounts of the healing potion. Argis drank it quickly and then Amund’s fingers reached for the needle and thread.
Argis dug his hand into the dirt and after a short while of preparation Amund put a hand on his shoulder to keep him still.
“Sorry.” He breathed before driving the needle into Argis’ flesh. Argis stifled his cry and bit the inside of his cheek. He tried his best not to move or squirm and the only sound he would let escape him was a growl of annoyance.
Once the wound was sewn Amund paused and looked at Argis. “Did you want us to walk back to Markarth or I can I heal you completely?”
Argis didn’t want to head back to Markarth, knowing full well any priestess wouldn’t do as good of a job as his Thane. Yet he scanned the surroundings they didn’t have much sunlight left and it would be fully dark by the time they got close to Markarth, which would leave them at risk of Forsworn ambushes. Yet despite this knowledge that the logical thing to do was stay he still said “And why would you want to heal me?”
The Thane just looked confused, unsure what to tell the housecarl, unable to read the man before him. “Why heal someone you hate?”
“I… I don’t hate you.”
“You could have fooled me.”
“I’ll admit, I did try to hate you, but you don’t make that an easy job.” Argis knitted his brow and stared at his Thane. “I thought it would be easier if I didn’t care about my follower.”
“Then why have one at all, just go alone.”
“I… uh… I’m too afraid…”Amund looked away and Argis averted his eyes from his Thane.
“Of what?”
“Dying alone…”
“Why did you try to hate me?” Argis said, quickly changing the topic
“I had a follower before and they died… I tried to go alone but nearly died. I managed to craw to some town and thought it best to have a follower again. I didn’t want to go through the emotion pain again so… I thought it would easy, I never knew how hard it would be.”

Date: 2012-09-24 10:45 am (UTC)Amund watched as his housecarl flittered around the campsite, seemingly taking as long as possible to start a fire. The Thane watched his sworn protector very closely as he prepared a fire pit. He didn’t dare offer his housecarl a hand but just watched and once the fire was lit patted the ground beside him for Argis to take a seat.
“Where did you learn to heal people?” Argis asked as his Thane applied a healing potion. “It’s usually the job of-”
“Priests, I know. I learnt from my mother who was a priestess. I was going to become a blacksmith and never really thought it would come in handy, but now I’m thankful to her every damn day.” Argis shifted his weight and moved his arm giving his thane better access to the area. “Do you have family?” Argis laughed slightly. “What?”
“Just thinking about the last time I tried to get to know you is all.”
“Well… uh family, you got any?”
“None that I care to talk about.” Argis said coldly.
“Orphan I take it?”
“No, my parents are alive I know where they are but whether they’d like to see me is another story.”
“I’d like to know the story of your eye.” Argis winced as his Thane began to apply healing potion to his broken ribs.
“Not much to tell, I was foolish and got scratched by a sabre cat, lost my eye, been an out cast ever since.”
“How old were you?”
“Young.”
“Young?”
“Enough.”
“Argis, I want to know, why aren’t you telling me?” The wound and well and truly healed over and the breaks had all long since healed but Argis didn’t want his Thane to remove his hands…
“It’s a stupid piece of information. Where’s your family?” Amund raised an eyebrow at his housecarl but continued to massage him as he spoke.
“They’re in Cyrodiil, safe hopefully.”
“Do they know about you being Dragonborn and what you’re doing in Skyrim?”
“They think I’m learning the blacksmith trade at the Skyforge. My mother would have a fit if she knew half the things I had done.” Argis chuckled with his Thane and then they settled into a rather uncomfortable silence.

Date: 2012-09-29 12:46 pm (UTC)“No.”
“Are you sure?” The Thane raised an eyebrow, “What about here?” He used one hand to press into Argis’ left thigh. Argis recoiled and growled as his Thane pressed down on the bruise that he received. “That’s what I thought.”
“It’s nothing, just a bruise, how did you even know?”
“A guess I figured since-”
“I’m blind in my left eye that’s where all my injuries lie.” That fact was true but that wasn’t the point. Argis crossed his arms and turned his face only showing the Thane the right side.
“Argis-”
“It’s fine, everyone thinks the same thing. I’m used to it.” He said but the venom was still in his voice, we wasn’t used to it. “Just leave the bruise and save the rest of the potion for yourself.”
Argis was about to stand when he was pinned to the ground. He was confused and didn’t understand what was happening. He shouted in pain when his Thane pressed his knee firmly into the bruised area.
“Argis, listen.” Argis looked at his thane who looked just as cold as he did the first time they met. Argis froze under that gaze, afraid of what would happen if he tried to defy him, he couldn’t even imagine defying his thane. “I wanted to do this at a more appropriate time but it seems I’ll have to settle for now, don’t move.”
Amund sat up and eased his weight off Argis’ thigh. Argis watched stunned as his Thane removed his chest plate and then his tunic revealing what Argis had always been too shy to fully look at. He was littered with scars across his broad chest with ripples in all the right places showing just how defined he was.
His Thane leant forward again cautiously; Argis felt a burning in his cheeks but didn’t move a muscle, well maybe one muscle. “You know…” His thane voice was a low whisper and Argis could feel his warm breath on his neck, which made his hair stand on end. “I’m always admired your strength. The way you carry everything I throw at you. Dragonbones. Dragon scales. Animal pelts. Gems. Potions. Weapons.” Argis swore that between every sentence he felt soft pecks on his neck, but they were so soft and so quick he didn’t know if they were real. “I love your courage. I love your bravery. I love your honour. I love your skill. I love your passion, now I love your smell. Your taste.”
Argis felt a chill go down his spine at the words and his skin burn wherever there was a light kiss placed. He felt the Dragonborn’s fingers at his chin and then his lips were pressed to his Thanes. “I love you.” The hot words against Argis’ face made him blush all the more.
Amund’s lips were pressed to Argis’ again and he soon felt his mouth being invaded by his Thane’s tongue. Amund knotted a hand in Argis’ hair and pulled him closer, practically crushing their mouths together.
Argis’ mind was stumped unsure what to do, but his body seemed to know. One hand felt it’s way up his Thanes back before grabbing a fistful of hair his other hand rested on the perfectly sculpted, yet still armoured arse of his Thane. “Tent.” Argis managed to breath once the kiss took a pause.

Date: 2012-10-04 09:08 am (UTC)He looked down and saw the bruise in his leg had been fully healed, undoubtedly the work of Amund in the night. Amund was still asleep soundly despite Argis’ flailing moments before.
In silence Argis collected his pants, loincloth, boots and the parts of his armour that made it into the tent. After hastily pulling on his undergarments and pants he left the tent in search for his tunic.
His legs were stiff and sore but he pushed through any discomfort in an effort to walk normally. He found his blood stained tunic and pulled it on, they would be back in Markarth soon and he could by a new one there.
Before dressing any further Argis rekindled the fire and began to prepare a breakfast. Once the food was cooking in the pot the housecarl strapped every last piece of his armour on as tightly as possible, even bothering to secure his sword on his person, something he usually left until they were just about to leave.
He heard movement inside the tent and quickly turned his back to it heat rushing to his cheeks. He played with the cooking food in an attempt to look busy as he heard footsteps behind him.
“Good morning.” He heard his Thane say.
“Morning.” Argis grumbled in response. His Thane said nothing more but sat opposite Argis and raised an eyebrow. With no further questions Amund began to slowly dress.
“When we get back to Markarth you can have the day off…” Amund said slowly, picking up on whatever mood Argis was in.
“Thanks.” He grumbled collecting two bowls to fill with breakfast. He split a loaf of bread handing the larger part to Amund and then spooned the stew into the bowls leaving a larger proportion for his Thane.
“Why do you always give me a larger portion that what you give yourself?” Amund mused out loud with a hint of laughter in his voice.
“You’re a thane. It’s one of my duties as a housecarl.” Argis said, still grumbling when he spoke.
“Oh.” They ate in an awkward silence, neither willing to speak yet both wanted the awkwardness to end. They didn’t even speak when they began to take the campsite down and Argis didn’t even protest when Amund began to help. Once everything was packed Argis loaded it all onto the pack and hoisted it onto his back. Then Amund broke the silence.
“Let me carry something.” Amund offered.
“No.” Argis grunted before he began to set off on the road towards Markarth. The Thane felt guilt in waves as he looked at his housecarl who was dutifully carrying an atrocious amount. He shouldn’t bring so much along.
The walk was quick, quiet and soon they were walking into Vlindrel Hall. Argis placed the pack into the middle of the room and waited for Amund.
“Oh yes, you’re dismissed for the day.” As Argis walked back outside Amund slumped. “I need a drink.” He murmured to himself and began to make his way to the Silver-Blood Inn.

Date: 2012-10-08 02:20 pm (UTC)Amund shared mead with them and ate and they told stories. Eventually Vorstag and Hogni left so it was just the two thanes sitting together.
“I love bein’ a Thane.” Jiv commented his words beginning to slur from mead.
“Aye.”
“Like ya get respect, ya know? And everyone knows ya’ name ‘n shit, they all wanna lick ya boots.” He took a long sip of mead. “And the housecarl’s, so devoted.”
“Yeah, they risk their lives for us.”
“No, no, no I don’t mean in battle.” Amund eyed him. “You can get a housecarl to do anything, anything. Let’s just say I haven’t been polishing my own sword.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, my housecarl, Sten, he told me that a housecarl is to do whatever their Thane desires with no complaint. So I told him to suck me off and he did. Right there in the middle of the bloomin’ wild. Never came so hard in my life.” Jiv looked at Amund’s face who had the colour drained out of it. “What, you never got your houscarl to do anything like that?”
“I hope not.” Amund said standing abruptly and walked away.

Date: 2012-10-10 01:17 pm (UTC)“Hello, Argis, I haven’t seen you come and pray in a long while.” Senna the priestess said. When you grew up in Markarth you knew everyone.
“Oh, Senna it’s good to see you.”
“I hear you’ve been adventuring around Skyrim with the Dragonborn, it sounds exciting.”
“Aye, but that’s actually what I’m here for.”
“Ah, to have Dibella cure any diseases you have acquired, go right ahead I’ll give you privacy.” Argis knelt in front of a shrine and held his hands together in prayer.
He didn’t exactly know what to do now that he actually needed guidance. Usually he would just pop by the temple before heading to the market stalls so he could get better prices.
He sort of just let his mind wonder as he ‘prayed.’
It didn’t make any sense for Amund to want to sleep with him. Argis tried to convince himself it was a one off thing but he never managed to convince himself completely. Yet the thought of that occurring actually made him feel ill.
He would recall the way his skin burned at the light pecks, the way he felt when Amund’s hand-
“No. Stop.” Argis told himself firmly, banishing the wonderful thoughts from mind. He stood, clearly the answers would not simple just come to him.
He ended up wondering around Markarth for the longest time, his thoughts going in circles.
He came to the conclusion that Amund slept with him to relieve pent up sexual desires and that there was nothing any more than that. The thought actually made him feel like there was a part of himself missing.
The sun was soon setting and Argis walked back to Vlindrel Hall.
His day off didn’t really consist of any excitement, in fact he felt the most perky when he was walking into his Thane’s home. He had bought new tunics and his own healing potions so he wouldn’t have to bother his Thane for them. He had also bought his thane a potion as well to replace the one he had used.
When he walked into the main room of the house Argis saw his Thane buried in a book with a look of utter frustration. Argis knew better than to pester the man so moved straight into his own room. He put away his new tunics and his potions. He decided he would spend the last few hours of his day off polishing his armour up. It was already repaired but he still liked to polish it and make it seem like new.
He would do it out in the main room so he could cook at the same time, just because it was his day off didn’t mean he shouldn’t cook a meal. He walked into the main room carrying his armour. He placed it gently on the floor in an effort not to make too much noise and placed everything to make a Venison stew into a pot.
He sat down close by the cooking and began to polish his armour. By the time his armour was all polished the stew was ready.
The Thane and Housecarl ate in silence both of them seeming to engaged in their own thoughts to speak. Amund looked immensely frustrated about something and Argis was just trying to remember something he forgot and didn’t want to delve too much thought into his relationship with his Thane.
“Oh yeah.” Argis said breaking the silence just as the meal was about to draw too an end. The housecarl stood and his Thane eyed him as he left the room. He re-entered moments later with a large red bottle and Amund raised an eyebrow his frustration being replaced with curiosity.
“Uh, to um… replace what I used.” Argis said placing the bottle in front of his Thane. Amund chuckled slightly and it brought relief to Argis, who collected the bowls.
Amund stood and Argis went to wash the dishes “Argis, I’m tired.” Amund said with almost no trace of actual tiredness in his voice.
“Goodnight then.” Argis replied
“Let me rephrase, Argis I’m tired, come, now.” Argis was stunned for a moment but then dropped the bowls and moved towards his thane following him dutifully, his heart doing flips of joy.

Date: 2012-10-12 10:12 am (UTC)Argis had already put most of the light out so they were in almost complete darkness. Argis was laying on his side when he felt Amund’s arm slip around his waist. The two awkwardly moved for a moment to get more comfortable. Their legs ending up in a comforting tangle, Amund’s arm draped over Argis with their fingers intertwined and Amund’s face buried in Argis’s hair.
Argis melted into the comforting embrace. “I love you.” Amund whispered into Argis’s ear, his voice low, seductive and irresistible.
Argis didn’t know how to respond but before his mind could comprehend what was happening he could feel nips being made at his neck and let out a load moan. He could feel Amund’s length hardening against him and his own responded accordingly.
Amund prompted Argis to turn and so he did, his cheeks burning in the darkness as Amund’s hand slipped down Argis’ clothing. Argis pressed their mouths together awkwardly but then as Amund took control the kiss became more regular.
Argis hesitantly moved his hands lower, allowing them to caress his Thanes body before his hand disappearing beneath his Thane’s small clothes.
“No.” Argis stoped, confused at what was happening. Amund’s hand moved away from Argis and he let out a half-whimper-half-growl in response. “Your mouth. Use your mouth.” Amund moaned out.
Argis blinked a few times, he had never done anything like that before, he’d had it done to him before but then again he’d never had many sexual encounters with men. Most had been women that had just been barmaids used to warm the bed for one night with no real meaning behind it.
Argis hesitated and then moved down the bed. He found himself between Amund’s legs and pulling down his thane’s pants and smalls. He chewed his lip nervously as Amund’s length was revealed to him.
Argis’s cheeks were burning as he could feel his thane watching him. He felt like he was back in training being assessed for his performance. He was unsure where to start so he licked cautiously at the tip before taking the length in his mouth.
Amund would have stopped Argis if it hadn’t felt so good, but he was nothing but a man. He made no effort to keep the noise down, letting out moans and groans much to Argis' pleasure. He threw his head back and let out Argis' name in a moan, angry at himself for being so weak and blind.
He should have been able to tell sooner. He should have known that there were no feelings being harboured and that everything was just because he was a Thane. He curled his toes and gripped desperately to the bed wanting to prolong their time together.
But he couldn’t, not when he knew that his feelings were not being returned. He was so close and could feel Argis pumping himself. When Amund came his feelings of happiness soon became bitter.
Argis came just after his Thane and was quite pleased with himself. He had never done anything like that before but thought he had done a fair job. Of course there would be room for improvement. He slid back beside his Thane waiting his touch.
Instead Amund rolled over and put his back to Argis with his shoulders hunched and he pulled the blanket over his head.
“Get out.” Amund said, the request barely auditable but loud of enough for Argis to take a sharp breath.
“What?”
“Get out.” He said slightly louder.
“Amund…”
“Leave.” Amund snapped back, practically shouting. Argis scrambled out of the bed practically ran out of the room.
He was so confused, shocked and he just wanted to cry. He had heard stories of Thanes using housecarls as nothing more than free whores- “No.” Argis told himself firmly. “He wouldn’t do that.” Argis affirmed to himself, but no matter how many times he repeated it, he didn’t truly believe it.
